The Little Door is one of the most romantic restaurants in the city
Hands down, the most beautiful patio dining in Los Angeles! Food was excellent but what kicked it up a notch was the extra-ordinary service. We were celebrating a "big" birthday and brought a couple very extravagant wines. Service truly exceptional!!! Would highly recommend for any occasion or just for fun!!
Little door it has been a while - so good to see things have not changed - wonderful food great ambiance - we will be back again soon
One of the most romantic spots you'll find! Excellent food that tastes far more expensive than your bill will end up being. Great wine selections if you're into that, and an eclectic list of whiskeys, rums, vodkas, etc. Not your average steak place--and that's a good thing! Highly recommend, always a positive experience.
I have been at this place 3 times. I know I would like to sit outside. Their preference is to seat you inside for some reason so unless i ask when I am there they would take us always to the back indoor area which is a bit too dark and too cramp! Food is good. Service can be better which starts with the hosts. Oh tables were too close so the guy next to me as he sat he spiled my glass of water.
Food was excellent. Rich with flavor. Get the sea bass! Oh boy!!!!
Perfect entry with Natalee at the desk. She’s the best. Meeting her for the first time. 👍🏽
Food was great. Had friends in from out of town, foodies, they really enjoyed it.
Artist in the house, yes, entertainment! All good.
Amazing start to finish.
Great overall, I wish they had been able to accommodate a nicer table since it was a special occasion and I asked a week in advance.
The Little Door was hard to find, however once you locate it and enter the place, you're transferred into a romantic dark setting that puts you in awe. The atmosphere and ambiance was great for dinner dates and I was truly pleased with our waitress Kristen.
The food was great and my overall experience was I will be back again and because of this I have also recommended this place to friends also. We drove from Rancho Cucamonga and it was worth it.
Quality cheese board and good food. Ambiance would be a 5 if we weren’t next to a screaming infant. Seems like a place that could use a minimum age.
This was my wife and I's first trip to LA and we celebrated my 50th birthday with a romantic birthday meal at the Open Door. Food was great with a very great, romantic atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any couple looking to get away and pamper yourself.
There were 4 of us and the forgot one main dish. What person was sat there the entire time with no food while
Everyone else ate... then they are alone!! Such poor form
Very intimate and cozy ambiance and the food was phenomenal and cocktails very refreshing
Even better than the week before
The food was excellent and well presented. The only complaint I had was the level of noise which, combined with the totally unnecessary music, made any chance of conversation almost impossible. Perhaps a table not in the main room would have been more to my liking (although the ambiance is less attractive) in addition to dinner at 6 rather than 7, or maybe a weekday I realize that many people like the loud energy of a restaurant, but I'm not one of them. Still, I'd be happy to try it again due to the quality of the food.
Great ambiance, service and delicious food. Table placement encourages quiet conversation. Decor creates a feeling of dining in a hidden grotto, attended by private staff only when you need something. A delightful find behind a little door.
Very special occasion was made very special. Thanks
Had not been in years, and it's still as cute and delicious as I remember.
Wonderful place as it always is
Food quality and service are not what they used to be.
As a culinary professional and one who maintains a very solid understanding of French culinary tradition along with honed technique, my fiancee and I were both very disappointed in every dish except for the cheesecake we shared for dessert. There's really no point in going into details but suffice it to say, the food lacked character, proficiency and heart. It's obvious the dishes are simply "executed" with no connection to what is actually being made. Service was efficient but disconnected as if there were more important people in the room to focus on. One of the most egregious policies we noted was that older people were seated in the rear of the restaurant while younger, more "hip" customers were seated in the courtyard. The ambiance was really quite stunning, but sad to say it's obvious this is why the restaurant has lasted so long as it truly can't be the food. Tarragon in everything does not make a dish French. The menu comes across as someone's perception of what French food should be and overpriced at that. $40 for 3 seared scallops on perhaps 4 ounces of pasta. Seriously?
The food was fantastic!! Every bite was filled with great flavor. The ambiance is romantic, great for a date night. Pleasantly surprised!!
Everything about this place was wonderful! I will definitely keep coming back for more!
My boyfriend and I went here for a date night for his birthday. The ambiance and interior was very cozy and romantic. The inside was covered in vines which was really cool. The wine was great. The food was good, but wouldn't say it was amazing. Not probably worth the $200 in my mind for an entree and glass of wine. The service wasn't anything special.
It’s always our choice for birthday and romance. They never disappoint. It’s so lovely!
FABULOUS food and atmosphere. Excellent food options and great service.
Amazing restaurant! A little slice of France in LA. Our favorite romantic spot. Never disappoints and the service is terrific.
Amazing service and food!
The service and food was excellent. Lamb rack was great.
Went to The Little Door with my wife for Valentine’s Day dinner and the food and ambiance blew us away. The grilled octopus was not chewy like you find at some restaurants, it was the best I’ve ever had. Pot de Chocolate just like in Paris and my wife is Parisian so she would know! They were out of the Lemon Tart and comped the coconut cheesecake which was excellent. I highly recommend The Little Door.
Adam, is a great waiter! Timing was impeccable. Ambience stunning. The food is very good
Though we had reservations and arrived 1/2 hour prior to our reservation, we were not seated until almost a half hour after our reservation, then we waited for our appetizers (ordered while waiting at the bar) for over an hour. By the time we got our food, the restaurant was winding down for the night. Not exactly best experience given these prices.
Dining at The Little Door made an amazing first impression. The service was beyond amazing- every server helps with refills/ taking away dishes, all the while being over the top friendly and smiling. The menu is simple making it easy to choose from with a huge assortment of wine selections. Cannot wait to be back!
A beautiful atmosphere. Delicious and thoughtful menu.
very good food very good service, the price is little high.
This is such a lovely restaurant, no matter where you sit, but of course the front patio is the best 😁 The service was stellar and the food without flaw. I need to come here more often, but it is pricey!
I took my daughter for our mother/daughter date night & we had a terrific time. Food was delicious & atmosphere was beautiful!
From the very start, everyone was friendly and accommodating. Our server Adam was absolutely the best. And, Assistant Manager, Joshua, came by several times to make sure we were happy. He even walked us out. Food was beautiful and delicious (the martinis were especially tasty...). No wonder we keep coming back time again!
Came to The Little Door during DineLA and loved everything from the ambiance to the server who was quite informative. Tried a bit of everything from the foie duo, octopus, beets, pasta, lamb, coconut cheesecake, chocolate cake & creme brûlée. Large portions, foodnominal & drinks were well crafted too.
This is a great place for a first date or anniversary very romantic and the food was amazing and reasonable for a restaurant if this caliber. The portions were much more than you would expect from a tasting menu. I I will definitely be back.
