Went to The Little Door with my wife for Valentine’s Day dinner and the food and ambiance blew us away. The grilled octopus was not chewy like you find at some restaurants, it was the best I’ve ever had. Pot de Chocolate just like in Paris and my wife is Parisian so she would know! They were out of the Lemon Tart and comped the coconut cheesecake which was excellent. I highly recommend The Little Door.

Though we had reservations and arrived 1/2 hour prior to our reservation, we were not seated until almost a half hour after our reservation, then we waited for our appetizers (ordered while waiting at the bar) for over an hour. By the time we got our food, the restaurant was winding down for the night. Not exactly best experience given these prices.

Dining at The Little Door made an amazing first impression. The service was beyond amazing- every server helps with refills/ taking away dishes, all the while being over the top friendly and smiling. The menu is simple making it easy to choose from with a huge assortment of wine selections. Cannot wait to be back!

This is such a lovely restaurant, no matter where you sit, but of course the front patio is the best 😁 The service was stellar and the food without flaw. I need to come here more often, but it is pricey!

From the very start, everyone was friendly and accommodating. Our server Adam was absolutely the best. And, Assistant Manager, Joshua, came by several times to make sure we were happy. He even walked us out. Food was beautiful and delicious (the martinis were especially tasty...). No wonder we keep coming back time again!

Came to The Little Door during DineLA and loved everything from the ambiance to the server who was quite informative. Tried a bit of everything from the foie duo, octopus, beets, pasta, lamb, coconut cheesecake, chocolate cake & creme brûlée. Large portions, foodnominal & drinks were well crafted too.

This is a great place for a first date or anniversary very romantic and the food was amazing and reasonable for a restaurant if this caliber. The portions were much more than you would expect from a tasting menu. I I will definitely be back.

Went to try this place out for my wife's birthday. Gave them info (that was an option on the reservation) that it was my wife's birthday but they didn't prepare anything special so I'm not sure why they even ask. The food was off the dine LA menu. Food had great flavor but I felt the execution wasn't quite there. The fish (sea Bass) was overcooked. A little on the dry side. When you hear sea bass you expect buttery soft white fish. The lambshank had good flavors but once again a little overcooked. The meat was on the tough side. Appetizers were the better part of the meal. I think you're paying more for the ambiance than the food at this place. But I hear the filet mignon is the star dish here. Could be worth another try.

This restaurant is very charming, quaint and romantic. The service is good, however the food is not the best. There's a lack of seasoning on almost everything. The cocktails were sadly also poorly executed. So if food isn't priority and ambiance is , than this is the restaurant for you.

What a perfect date night! If you aren't paying attention, you will walk right past the entrance to The Little Door. Once inside, you are transported to a gorgeous Mediterranean style court yard. Lights twinkle above your head as you walk to your table. We were there for dineLA so we ordered off the prefix menu. Our waitress was lovely and helped us select a bottle of wine to go with our meal (lamb). The food was delicious. I had brussel sprouts to start, lamb for the meal and coconut cheesecake for dessert. While the food was very good, go for the atmosphere. It's a wonderful place for a special occasion or a romantic evening out. My one complaint was that it was quite loud and took away from part of the vibe. I would absolutely recommend to friends and plan to visit again!

we couldn’t have been happier with our dinner !
we were welcomed with warmth, changing table was not a problem,
and the food was very very delicious, refined, inventive, light, extremely
well prepared ( we also tasted what was in each other’s plate)
the loud good music was not overwhelming, but an incentive
for animated conversation
the waiters were just adorable (and french !)
we’ll be back, we thank the cook, the crew, everyone !

as a matter of fact, it was even better than the first time we came

The food was excellent. My wife and I did the DineLA menu so the value was great. The regular menu is a little pricey for what you'd get. Definitely an interesting scene on the inside. You would never know that so much space existed behind the non-descript outside door. While the scene was exciting (fun people watching, beautiful set up/architecture), I would not call it romantic. We were there after 9 PM for dinner and it was very loud. We were in a quieter part of the restaurant and it was still pretty loud. We liked it, but it's probably more suited to a night out with friends rather than a romantic dinner.

I read an article that voted The Little Door the most romantic restaurant in all of California. With such a great reputation, I was really excited to go. Unfortunately, I was truly disappointed; it didn't meet my expectations. The restaurant was crowded and noisy. The tables were so close together that there was no privacy, and the music playing was truly bizarre (and loud). Most romantic? Definitely not!

The décor lives up to its reputation as a romantic restaurant. However, the real attraction is the food, with the executive chef doing a superb job of matching flavors and textures in all the dishes we tried. Food presentation is also excellent. The restaurant does showcase higher-end wines. The only minor quibble is the high noise level, but that is a function of the clientele and not the establishment. Despite that, the background music could still be heard at an appropriate level, a testament to the exceptional quality of the sound system. Overall, a very, very nice dinner experience.

I love this restaurant - the ambiance is amazing. However, the decision to dine there this week was predicated on their Monday night prix fixe Moroccan dinner. I checked the web site after the first of the year to make sure that that dinner was still offered. When we were at the restaurant we were told that they no longer offered that option. I was very disappointed and rather upset that the information was still on the website.

Went to little door based on many recommendations. The ambiance of the bar and dining room was excellent as was the food. However, the waitress was one of the worst we have ever had. She didn’t explain anything about the menu, could hardly be bothered to take drink orders and seemed totally distracted. Really liked the restaurant and would try it again but this experience was not great.

The Little Door lived up to its reputation as the most romantic restaurant in LA! My husband & I had a lovely dining experience here on a recent Friday evening. We entered the space which had outdoor seating in the front with a bar off to the side, then inside with a dining room, & we were seating in the back room area which was lovely. It felt like 3 different restaurants, but all with the same chic, elegant, cozy, romantic vibe. We had a very nice, capable, & professional waiter who helped make the experience perfect. The food came out perfectly as ordered and the drinks were delicious. The entire experience was PERFECT! I would HIGHLY recommend dining here & I would most certainly go again when I'm back in LA. It's a MUST!!!

We started with the seared foie gras - it was amazing. The chestnuts with the foie gras was wonderful. ordered the scallops and my husband ordered the venison - loved both. Every bite tasted different. It's a little pricey for a weekly dinner date, but certainly worth it once in a while. Would come back here again.

I chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner since it’s “the most romantic restaurant” in LA. It wasn’t too bad, but I guess since this was a special occassion, the overall dinner experience just didn’t live up to the hype.

Our reservation was at 7:30. I figured we would have a couple of happy hour cocktails next door beforehand. Unfortunately, Little Next Door’s happy hour changed it’s time and ended at 6pm. That news was a bit of a bummer. But we didn’t let it damper our night and instead had a few margaritas at the lively bar further next door. We showed up to our reservations a few minutes early. The hostess greeted us with a “happy anniversary”! It was sweet and it made us feel special. Then we were escorted to our table and things went a little downhill from there.

Our table had to be the worst, and must I add least romantic, table in the restaurant. I was literally facing the service station. I could hear the service talking and rustling back and forth throughout the evening. I wanted to ask to move but I hesitated, and once the waitress popped up and lifelessly took our drink order, I immediately regretted not speaking up. I don’t remember many details of the rest of the evening since I was so annoyed with everything. The drink I ordered was not great. It was a mixed cocktail with tequila and aperol. Even that couldn’t pick up my spirits. The busboy and server assistant were way more attentive and had way more personality than our waitress. I couldn’t even bother with desert. These two ladies that sat down nearby were also talking very loudly. We downed our espressos and asked for the check.

On a good note, the food was great! We ordered the grilled squid for appetizer. My fiancée ordered the filet and I ordered the artic char. I didn’t finish my dish though. I was really hoping to order several additional small plates and accompany them with many glasses of wine. The ambience was just off that night.
