What Insiders Are Saying
The Little Door is one of the most romantic restaurants in the city
Excellent food, drinks and service. Celebrated birthday and this was one of the highlights of our LA weekend.
This was my second time dining at The Little Door. The first time was for a girls holiday dinner years ago and it was such a wonderful experience! From the food, ambiance, service.. I remembered thinking that I wanted to come back again:) My most recent visit was for a date and it was the perfect place to share dinner and conversation. We got to the restaurant before our reservation time so we got a drink at the bar first. The bartender was quick to notice us and before we even had a chance to try and get his attention, he had come around to hand us a cocktail menu! I can't remember our server's name but he was also so nice, polite and attentive. The food was wonderful and I love the sweet mint tea they give you at the end. Everything about our evening was perfect! I can't wait to come back :)
The ambiance and outdoor seating make the place. Good is good, but the courtyard is amazing.
The ambiance here is so romantic and cute! Food is a little pricey, but worth every penny. The amazing service added so much to our dining experience.
The lamb dish was sensational as was the chicken dish. The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was very good and a generous portion.
Simply amazing atmosphere and exquisite food
Everything was great!!!
Wonderful food and service. Ambiance great too. Bit pricey but worth it. My husband and i loved everything we ordered.
Lovely restaraunt I’ve been many times. The food this time though was like warm. Also our waitress was somewhat cold and impersonal. Nonetheless we had a good time overall and I would still come back.
After our proposal dinner. Perfect way to end the day with great food.
We had a wonderful evening with friends. Loved being under the trees .Service was excellent and food delicious. As the evening went on it became a bit noisy. The only major concern was that twice we smelled cigarette smoke. Upon leaving we could see people waiting on the outside bench right against the restaurant wall were smoking.
Selection of wines is excellent. Selection of spirits is dismal
Expect to eat in a very dark place. One candle on a table is pretty much all the light you have. Its very difficult to see what you are eating (dealing with Mussels in the dark is not easy, not being able to tell what's on your plate/fork is annoying).
The food was good, but not what you would expect for the price.
The service was rather amateurish, servers didn't know the answer to a couple of questions about the food, the appetizers / main courses were brought out too fast and backed up on the table. Never asked if we would like another drink when glasses were empty, other little things you wouldn't expect at a better restaurant.
The couples next to us were commenting on much the same thing.
The conversations were quiet, but the music was usually too loud for the atmosphere.
What a gem. Everything was pitch perfect. We were seated on the patio outside. The lights and ambiance are so charming. Our server Sean was delightful and welcoming. The food - started with the Mediterranean appetizer plate which was delicious and fresh. The spanakopita bites were the best I’ve ever had. Our table all got the sea bass entree and it was mouth watering. Perfectly presented with divine flavors. The entire staff from the greeter to the table staff were the best of the best. For dessert we had the molten chocolate cake - another hit. I came in from New York for my birthday and was impressed from start to finish. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. I can’t wait to visit again and again.
I love Little Door - a romantic setting with great food and impeccable service. Always feels special which you go.
Amazing food, service and the ambiance was spectacular. We will definitely be back!
In the reservation I made I specifically said it was for my husband's 35th bday. And they did nothing for it.
It was amazing and I will definitely be going back. Loved the ambiance, the service and the food!
The food sounds sophisticated on the menu but is poorly executed and just doesn’t taste good or fresh. We ordered filet mignon and chicken for NYE and both were just unappetizing. It’s a shame because everything else is great.
Beautiful decor, everyone's plate was yummy, I got the rib eye, couscous, cheese plate, some lobster risotto plate, all were yummy. Drinks were yummy as well. Great for a romantic date or to celebrate a birthday with a small group.
Servers were amazing.
Loved the low key, contemporary vibe. No flash, just solid style, great service and delicious food.
Once again my husband and I had a fabulous Christmas dinner at The Little Door. The room was romantic and lovely, we had a great table where we could talk and enjoy our dinner. The wait staff is professional. I love that they are not constantly interrupting your conversation, but wait for opportune times to see if you need something or they are just on hand so you can ask. The menu is pricey but the food is excellent and the portions are very generous. We overate like we were at home. The wines are well curated and the selection by the glass is extensive. This time of year I would dress warm as much of seating areas are enclosed patios. Other than that, we love The Little Door and thank them again for a wonderful experience.
We had not been here for a few years. We asked ourselves, "why not?" We will be back soon. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the meal.
Had a dinner with my gf on Christmas eve and we both loved the ambiance and the food.
We ordered rib eye and scallop pasta with some glass of wine. Entree was pretty good, but not exceptional, but ambiance was really nice for date night. We also ordered coconut cheesecake and this one was the best...must try. One thing that I didn't like was the table. Tables were toooo close each other so it is hard to keep privacy while dining.
The food is consistently exquisite, the service is impeccable, and the place is gorgeous! It's worth every cent. An ideal place for special occasions.
Christmas Eve dinner.
Thanks so much to Olivier and the rest of the extraordinary staff for such a beautiful birthday dinner! My family and I had the most wonderful time and cannot thank you enough for your attention, warmth, and kindness. We felt so welcome and cared for!!! Merci beacoup!!!
Warmly greeted right level of attention at the table and the food was magnificent. Memorable place.
Excellent service and food
Excellent service, excellent food. Definitely worth experiencing.
Little Door gets better every year. The patio is beautiful and if it’s for brunch tranquil...otherwise there’s a full house and it can be loud but in a good way. The cuisine is divine, especially thé Couscous and the starters. The wine list is also top notch.
Service was slow
From beginning to end everyone was friendly and attentive. Had a reservation and got seated right on time. I ordered the Filet Mignon and my gf ordered the rack of Lamb, both incredible and was given small tastes of wines i was having trouble deciding between. Will definitely come back again! Highly recommended!
Best food in town and super friendly staff, the French ambiance gives you a feeling go being abroad.
This restaurant is clearly living off past fame/environment. Food quality is not high at all. Went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Requested nice table and surprise at dessert. Our reservation was for exactly when they opened yet we were seated in one of the worst seats in the house and not a single dessert surprise was brought to the table despite my request. Plus, the food was really mediocre. WILL NOT REPEAT.
The night I went when I got engaged, Josh and the rest of the staff made our night one of the most special nights in my life. Couldn’t have Been better!
Good food and experience. They put the tables for two right next to each other which is typically fine except here the tables are too wide so you cannot hear or speak to your dinner date without everyone hearing. I like the concept, it can be quaint and European but it does not work with those tables.
Amazing on all fronts! Ambiance, cuisine, and service. Certainly one of the most romantic places in town.
I haven’t been here in 6 months but they still do things right for this little romantic French restaurant tucked away in LA.
