What Insiders Are Saying
The Little Door is one of the most romantic restaurants in the city
Amazing! Loved the food and ambiance. Perfect place for a date.
Glad that I finally decided to pick this place.
Just a cozy, charming, outdoor, good vibe ambience and perfect for a romantic date night. The food are deliciously good. Best rack of lamb and coconut cheesecake. Loved that they serve morrocan mint tea after your meals.
No one acknowledged our anniversary or allergies, despite the notes on our reservation. Also, whoever answered the phone was rude. Food was good, but service was greatly lacking.
My wife and I loved it. We were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and she loved everything about it.
Visiting LA I decided to return again to what was my favourite dining behind that little door. Finally seated by our nice host for 9.15 reservation closer to 10. Server run off his feet threw our starter cheese board on to the table as the waiter runs past with a "enjoy your meal". Nearly gagging on the butter which was placed on the cheese board it was time to move onto our main...
Grilled Sea Breeze was more burnt charcolled the Cod was served on a bed of swirly mash which would have been more at home on a 70s plate. A victim of its own success? Standards slipping beyond that littel door alas
The Little Door is one of my favorite restaurants, period. It's beautiful, delicious and comes with impeccable service.
I hadn't been to the Little Door in years and was delighted to see that the ambiance, service, and food were as good or better than ever.
Best date spot in LA!! Hands down
Fantastic food and service. Such a beautiful restaurant. Love it every time we visit
Not great for kids tho other than that it was a great meal with great service
AMAZING romantic ambience - unfortunately, the food and wine were beyond mediocre and way overpriced. Bad enough that I won’t be back, even though it is SO cute.
I looooooved this restaurant but i asked for a special note in the cake and i had to remind them but i did forget to ask for the writing but overall the waiter was really nice about it and was kind, the service was great and so was the food. Will 100% recommend for a special night.
Fantastic food paired with a romantic ambience. We especially loved the octopus appetizer and Chefs pre set meals were a wonderful value.
Awesome place to go if you're okay with spending a decent amount. Atmosphere is wonderful and the food is delicious. Service is oustanding and we never found ourselves wanting anything. The place was extremely aesthetic with fairy lights and cute greenery making the restaurant feel like a place out of a romantic fantasyland.
The only issue I would say I had was finding parking. It was a bit annoying as it is almost all street parking and there were no spots available when we first arrived. Other than that, absolutely amazing experience.
Great place! We enjoyed celebrating my mother's birthday here. Thank you for the wonderful service
Decided to take my mother-in-law out for her birthday. we have arrived at the restaurant and valet parking is a must traffic during the week on Wednesday was terrible. The restaurant is quite beautiful and very well lit in the evening. My mother-in-law ordered the arugula salad which she enjoyed. I ordered the Foie Gras as my appetizer which was quite appealing.
My mother-in-law ordered the rack of lamb which she totally enjoyed and I ordered the prime ribeye which was totally out of this world. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
For me there was only one hiccup around 2 in the morning I became violently sick. I couldn't pinpoint what could have been the problem. Which part of my dinner caused me to feel this way. I just don't know. So there it is. The food is great, but it made me sick.
Excellent service and the food was beyond compare. I highly recommend the mussels and seabass. The cocktails are great, too. We finished our meal with the coconut cheesecake. Everything was so delicious. We will definitely be back.
Overall it was a decent time. I Just thought when it asked what the occasion was when you set up the reservation it would be taken into a count. But I guess it doesn’t.
We were here on date night and it was our first time coming in. The place is gorgeous, we were blown away by the colors, the gorgeous canopy, and the mixture of textures and lighting. Perfect ambiance, very romantic. They were very gracious in accommodating our gluten-free requirements. The food was delicious, though it was difficult for us to choose from the menu because everything looked so good! The only thing I'd recommend is to bring a tenner with you if you're valet parking, otherwise a wonderful experience.
The place is amazing. We’ve been going for years. The staff are the best, and the food is excellent. We love it. Josh is the best. Thank you. SC
Great dinner spot! We loved the food, artist painting while we ate, and really cool decor and ambiance. They even brought out a birthday dessert for me. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting LA!
It had been quite a few years since I had dined at the Liitle Door I was happy to be returning for an early dinner with my son. The space is even more beautiful than before. I would say the only glitch in the evening was when the hostess tried to seat us in the back dining room when I had requested the patio and it was almost empty at 6:45. With a gentle prompt she corrected herself and led us to a very nice table in the front patio.
We ordered cocktails which were on point, I had the Grandfather (sort of aManhattan) and my son had a French 75. Our appetizers were the burrata and tomato with peaches and the fois gras, both delicious. My salmon entree was very nice if slightly over cooked, sons Ribeye was perfectly medium rare.
A classic LA restaurant in a divine setting.
I have never had an experience at Little Door that was not outstanding. An LA gem.
Amazing! Date night. Special event. Food was perfect. Ambiance dazzling. Loved it.
Too much spices, but the meat is good
We had an extraordinarily wonderful first wedding anniversary. Everyone couldn’t have been nicer!! The Little Door is as great as ever!!!
Love the place. Very cozy and romantic. food is great so is the ambiemce.
Staff is nice and friendly.
I love it I will definately comeback again.
Exceptional service from our waiter Kirk, whom one might go so far as to request. The perfect ambiance for a romantic dinner. Everything we ordered was exceptionally prepared. Tremendous attention to detail. Be prepared to spend $$+ if you really want to enjoy what the menu has to offer. Only disappointment was our table - we had requested a garden table and were seated near the door (honestly a minor, minor disappointment). You will not be disappointed with your overall experience. One of the best dining experiences you’ll find in Los Angeles and beyond.
Good for food great service
Went for my bday with my girl. Great vibe. Romantic food food and very friendly staff
There were a few problems...the watercress salad had no watercress...just chopped arugula. We pointed this out to the waiter who went to speak to the chef. the manager came to our table and said she would comp the salad and it would be taken off the menu since indeed, it was not watercress. The salad was good...just not what was advertised and what I had wanted to eat.d
Then, the octopus came with three very large potatoes but only one piece of octopus. Again, it was very tasty, but I would have preferred three small potatoes and two pieces if octopus since it was octopus I wanted...not potatoes.
It was a great experience with outside seating, very romantic perfect for dates or special occasions.
Restaurant is perfect to celebrate a birthday and tucked away so it feels semi-private.
We have been to the Little Door several times. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. Recently we had the opportunity to visit it a couple of times for various get together's with old friends. The restaurant did not disappoint. The ambiance is great! Like having dinner on a beautiful private patio. The first visit my wife and I had the Salmon. It was great. The second time I had the chicken and my wife the filet mignon. Both very good. Of special note is the beet salad. It is excellent, especially with the goat cheese 'tart' that comes with it.
Also, of special note was our server, Oliver R. By luck Oliver waited on us both times, and he was great! Very personable, helpful with the menu, and extremely attentive. (Our wine glasses were always filled!). Also, all of the staff, from the bartender, maitre' d, to the bus staff, are all excellent. I would highly recommend the Little Door! And, ask for Oliver R.! I don't think you will be disappointed.
Couldn’t hv been better!! Love that place
Little Door was an amazing dining experience --- ask for Kirk and ask to sit in the back room! Very cozy and romantic!
We made or rsvp rateher last minute so we didnt mind the 30 minute wait at the bar . Our rsvp were at 9pm amd we changed itto 9.30 and seated at 10pm. Like we mentioned we understood the situation and ordered our cocktails from the bar.
So these are the problems we had last night :
1. Food arrival took too long. The obvious temperature change on our octopus appetizer were a signed that it had been seating on the kitchen pass too long and no server was aware to pick it up. No apology for this lateness coming from our waiter.
2. The mussel plate came with half of the plate of the mussels remain unopened. Which can be a sign of bad product. We politely asked our waiter to ask the kitchen to cook it a little bit more to see if the mussels will open. The waiter looked at me as if i didnt know what i was talking about and said “we purposely put more mussel on your plate Because we know not all of them will open. ( I mean if those mussels dont open then dont put it on a customer’s plate ! ) we again politely asked him to just bring the plate to the kitchen and he did. Then the plate came back with the same half plate of unopened mussels. No one came to our table , not our server, not the manager , to ask the plate came back okay. My wife took one or two mussels and decided that it is a bad product , not fresh almost smell too bad. She regretted eating them. Her plate were still almost full.
3. The time we asked for a check, our waiter didnt even bother asking why the mussel plate were still full. We decided to tell the buss boy when he cleaned our table to tell the kitchen to check on the mussels because they can harm other customers. He immediately acknowledged this and said we had the same complaint from other tables. I will tell your server and the manager. We say this buss person talked to our waiter and clearly saw him shaking his head n handed us the check anyway without asking. There are more incidents after that but this page has a limit for words.
