Fabulous!! We had the best dinner here last night. Fluffy salted focaccia, plump mussels with incredible pistou broth made with sorrel and carrot tops, asparagus with bacon and a perfectly cooked egg, and delicious al dente casarecce pasta with pork ragu and pizza from the wood oven with a drizzle of olive oil. Everything was cooked perfectly, the ingredients are so fresh and treated with love by the chefs. Chef Joseph even made us a personal skillet of semolina olive oil cake that came out perfectly crisp around the edges and dense inside!! They had run out for the day but threw one in the oven especially for us! You can tell how passionate and talented the team is. Would absolutely recommend for a date, or a big group as there’s a few bigger tables in the back. Don’t miss this as they might only be around through March although I hope they stay much longer!!! A true gem in North Beach.

The food was so good. Unfortunately the space is so big the back half was empty. The worst part was the lighting. Our table we under what felt like Stadium lighting. I dont remember the lighting being so bad when it was Rose Pistola. They need to dim the lights or turn some off so the ambiance is a good as the food!

Good food but there is no manager in charge of the front of the house yet. I expect that will be remedied as the business grows.

Am not sure what the end-game measurement for success is as a “pop-up,” but this place seems to want to make a fast buck in a tourist area and get out. We made the mistake of not having made reservations on Valentine’s Day early, so we were stuck with what we could get. Ligurian food is a favorite of ours, as we’ve spent time in that part of Italy. The trofie pasta was about as close as they got. Waitstaff did not know if the salmon were wild or farmed. No Italian red wine by the glass in an “Italian” restaurant? The only options were a either a full bottle of Riunite Lambrusco (really...) or Bolla Valpolicello, both near the definition of “dregs” for Italian mass produced wines. The waitstaff were clearly hired for the short gig of this place’s existence because they were so unbelievably disorganized that it was intrusive to diners. Moral of the story is that if you want to make an impression and use a pop-up as a trial balloon, the impression has to be a positive one. Needless to say, I would not recommend this place for a severe lack of business acumen. The food was just okay.

We had a wonderful meal in the heart of North Beach, on Columbus. The service was fantastic, and all the elements, from the excellent trio of bruschetta to the tart and cheesy radicchio Caesar to the delicious chicken and salmon, were well balanced and so savory. We will come back!
