About this restaurant

The Lighthouse Cafe is a converted lighthouse that serves both breakfast and lunch. The restaurant has become a locally famous hotspot for its homey comfort food and cozy atmosphere. The dining room has about 30 seats, but that only adds to the intimate ambiance and small town charm. The Lighthouse Cafe has two separate menus for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast menu consists of items like classic eggs benedict, Norwegian salmon omelet, and Augustine's stuffed hash browns with crispy bacon, caramelized onions and jack cheese topped with two eggs. The lunch menu contains items such as soups, salads, burgers and sandwiches. Some of the popular items include the BLT triple decker, house roasted turkey sandwich, Angus roast beef and a Danish meatball sandwich with pickled red cabbage, beets, cucumber salad, remoulade and shredded lettuce.

This is the no nonsense neighborhood restaurant that our area had been waiting for: unpretentious family style cooking with a Nordic touch, friendly and efficient service, prices that allow one to become a regular, which we intend to become.

We really enjoy having lunch here. Many choices, well prepared, with friendly and competent service. We tried it for dinner recently, and thought it was also very good. My fish and chips was prepared perfectly--crispy on the outside and moist inside. Plenty of coleslaw accompanied it, with some fresh-tasting aoli sauce. We will definitely return at either meal.

I went here specifically for the frikadeller (Danish meatballs) as I had them a couple years ago at the Lighthouse Diner in San Rafael before it closed and I found this cafe had the same owners. It was as delicious as I remembered and a real treat for my Scandinavian taste buds! My friend had the pot roast and enjoyed every morsel of it. My only complaint is that the chairs are very uncomfortable, but after the wine and food arrived I forgot about that!

The food here is wonderful, super comfort food. It takes a little bit to get the food to the table and it's worth it as you know it is all freshly cooked when your order. Have had the Danish Meatballs, amazing, Shepherds Pie, amazing, Paella (Friday night special,) again, amazing. We ate there one time and we were so impressed returned a week later and the food did not disappoint. The service is good and the atmosphere is really comfortable. Truly feels like a home cooked meal, we will be returning.

This was our second visit. We liked it the first time but thought it was a bit expensive for what we got. So this time we took advantage of their Tuesday half price special, and had a very pleasant meal at a very reasonable price. This is an attractive upscale coffee shop kind of place with an interesting and eclectic (American, Danish and Brit) menu. The food is well prepared but not exceptional.

My wife and I had a very pleasant dinner. This is not a fancy restaurant, but it is very pleasant and friendly. It is the kind of place you might go to when the wife decides she doesn't want to cook. I had a cup of tomato basil soup and the rib sticking shepards pie, both were very good but not exceptional. My wife had a large helping of pickled herring which was a bit overwhelming...but good. There are some expensive items on the menu, like Beef Wellington for $28. And the wine is not cheap. I like this place, but I think they need to rethink whether they are an upscale coffee shop serving dinner (which is what they are) or a fancy restaurant (which they are not but their prices think so).

What an excellent surprise! Our food was very high quality, prepared and presented beautifully, LARGE portions, great service. Although we have been to the location in Sausalito, this was an extremely pleasant surprise!

The restaurant had recently opened. It looks like it has potential but it appeared they are still working out the menu selections to have a theme instead of a hodge podge of different items. We like the Sausilito food so hope this location will evolve over time to be great.
