George Peabody believed in the power and importance of education in the lives of others; one of his many legacies is The George Peabody Library, built in 1957 in Baltimore.
Johns Hopkins was inspired by his close friend George Peabody to use his great wealth for the public good. The collaboration between these men and the institutions they created is the inspiration for our restaurant, located in the Research & Education Building at the Johns Hopkins All Childr

    Great food and awesome service! Highly recommended dinner here before a Rays game. Much better food than at Tropicana Stadium and similar price. I got the prime burger for $22, truffle fries, which is a million times better than a burger and fries at the stadium for a similar price.

    Though we went to the library on a quiet Monday morning for brunch, we were truly blown away by the experience. The ambience, the atmosphere, the service, the food, and the attention to detail was all amazing. I made a comment in my Open Table reservation that we were there for a birthday and they did not disappoint. The greeted my guest by saying happy birthday and took our cake to the freezer immediately. We booked this reservation for the beautiful scene in the restaurant but were absolutely surprised at how delicious the food was. We got the French toast and the steak sandwich and shared them both- where they added such a polite touch of splitting the food plate wise rather than making us eat off of each others plates. At the end, our amazing server Brooke brought my guest her cake with sparklers and candles and it was truly the cherry on top. I would 100% go back here for another special occasion.

    The Hostess was awful left us sitting at the bar for over an hour. We showed up about 45 minutes early (worried about traffic) said we were happy to sit at the bar and have a drink. There were several empty tables for way over an hour and never came to seat us. I went up to ask if we were going to be seated and she said your table is still not available. Even with all the empty tables around us. Thank God for the bartender he was an absolute doll. The only reason why we stayed. Food was great but make sure you check in for your table they will just leave you sitting there.

    The Salmon was extremely dry and flavorless. In our opinion, the overall experience was overvalued for what you get. They should serve bread with the meal and they need better dessert choices as well.

    It was really nice . Service was really nice. My dip taste a little salty but I think it’s because I haven’t been eating food with a lot of salt. But it’s not salty enough that I could eat it. The dessert with Mascarpone was really good. Service was good. I went with my friend today and it’s our first time . Tomorrow going with my husband for brunch 😆 I really love it !!! Love the atmosphere!!! I wish I drink because their cocktails looks good !

    We came for the DJ brunch but were seated outside. Just to let everyone know, you can’t hear the DJ music outside if you don’t want to. We wanted to but we’ll try again another weekend

    Beautiful place with great food. This would be a great way to treat someone who has a child at the hospital next door. It would allow them to escape for a little while and feel special.

    We loved everything about the restaurant, ambiance, food and service, and for sure would love to be back! Although, would love to see more gluten free options like simple mashed potatoes or rice/wild rice. Food prion might be a tad bigger. Thanks you for listening. We will be back!❤️

    Service was great with several staff members attending to us to make sure we had everything we needed. My only complaint was with the hamburger bun, bottom was soggy and fell apart, I had to finish with a fork.

    Love this place. My Wife is a celiac and they are so responsive and helpful. Alex the Chef came out and put us at ease on ordering. The food is amazing (try the whipped feta - OMG). The drinks are great, Can't say enough good stuff about the library. Don't let the location by the hospital scare you away....it's amazing

    My wife and I live in the Naples area in SWFL and discovered the Library on a weekend getaway last year. When ever we’re in the St Pete area we make a point to stop here. It is one of our top 3 restaurants…period. Every experience has been 5 ⭐️. The menu is consistently great, but consistently evolving. Keep up the great work.

    We went for the brunch. I had the French toast. It was amazing, and looked great. As did all the dishes going by our table. We sat outside. They have a nice seating area with lots of shade. Would definitely go back again. One of the best brunch’s I have had in St Pete.

    Sadly, the Library, a former favorite, has become a noisy, misguided mess. What was once a local bastion of outstanding food is now ordinary. The limited menu is a bit passé and the food just okay. Our server was attentive, friendly and on point. However, little things, the details that make a restaurant go from ordinary to outstanding, were continuously overlooked. We started with cocktails. A Hendricks and tonic - which arrived with no lime - and a Kettle One martini which arrived made with gin, not vodka. I sent the martini back, asked for lime (which never arrived) and waited several minutes before the exact same drink came back with an extra dash of olive juice. I should have sent it back again, but we were celebrating our anniversary and in the whole scheme of life, it wasn’t the most important thing. Maybe the bartender thought I wouldn’t notice. Next, the bread service, which was maybe the best item of the evening, and grilled octopus which was a few parts of one tiny tentacle over a blob of Israeli couscous. Tasty, but meager for the price and devoid of presentation. We decided to share the scallop entree which was nicely split plated, but served barely lukewarm. By now the thumping of the incredibly loud techno music had us wondering why we chose the Library. Obviously, the focus has changed for this restaurant, which is a choice by management, but we will not return nor recommend it.

    OMG, The Library never disappoints. It's the best restaurant in St. Pete hands down. From the strive to the food and drinks. Overall my favorite restaurant in St Pete. This was my 4th visit and will continue to make it a routine.

    Good food. Appetizers were good. The service was slow coming off the line. Our sides sat waiting for steak for a good 20 minutes. Not really worth the price. Would recommend the fish as these were the best main dishes we had. A little loud for a place called a library.

    We come here often and love it! The best thing is that you can easily carry on a conversation with the people you are with. Most restaurants we find ourselves shouting to be heard. Food is great along with service and ambiance. Try it out for yourself!

    They had a DJ playing lowfi music, but they didn’t do any acoustic treating so it was incredibly loud and boomy. Told Potatoes are cooked in bacon fat. Not vegetarian friendly. Service was great. Attentive service, but still at a distant. Took the initiative to take something off the bill that wasn’t too satisfactory. Food presentation was mediocre (worth half the price, honestly) and the food felt home cooked in a not-so-great way. IHOP is a better deal. Egg whites tasted strange, extra eggy, in a bad way while having a bad texture, like some sort of thickening agent was added and an extra egg flavor was added. Scrambled eggs (non egg whites) were extremely buttery to the point that both people in the reservation were nauseated after. Had to make a comment on the ambiance. Horrible noise. May give it another change 6 months from now or so, but not any time soon.
