Please contact the restaurant for large parties of 8 or more. Security deposits may be applicable.
We were a party of eight and our waiter, Joshua, was very attentive and professional. The food was outstanding and well presented. A little pricey but an excellent meal. I was not thrilled with having to put down a large deposit on my credit card to hold reservations - but I get it.
Couldn’t have asked for a better night, food was phenomenal and our waiter Bobby Hill was amazing. Highly recommend the library for the food and service. Amazing experience
Excellent food and ambience. She crab soup best I have had anywhere. Filet and lobster tail superb. Halibut special fantastic. Cherries jubilee out of this world. Service by Bryan was excellent. Fine dining at its best. Can’t wait to go again.
Service was impeccable. Overall the food was good but my wife's salmon had little to no seasoning. They did make it right by deducting her meal from the bill and providing us free dessert.
I do feel the pricing is exorbitant in relation to the quality of the food.
The food is the best and the service is impeccable. Danny has kept us coming back for over 20 years.
The BEST lobster tail I’ve ever had and I have eaten in many many fine restaurants in my life. The service was great. I could use the word impeccable as a former waitress at several high quality restaurants. Expensive but worth it.
Excellent service by Bobby! Would have liked to know the price of the specials.
First time visit with my wife and had a fantastic experience, reserved a table online and asked for a table discrete from traffic and to our surprise we got our own private room behind a book shelf. The food was also amazing the Lamb was some of the best i have ever had. Warning: Definitely a high class place, resort casual dress, and pretty expensive. Id reserve this place for a special occasion and expect to spend around $200 for two.
Great upscale restaurant. Our meals included salmon, steak, and the trio seafood platter. All were excellent! The service was just as great. Our first time here won’t be our last.
Impeccable service. Wonderful presentations. Fresh ingredients. Had a mixed shell fish appetizer, salmon and filet with added lobster tails. Dessert prepared table-side. Extensive wine list. Craft cocktails. Definitely will go back.
Our second Christmas Eve dinner celebration. Food and service was outstanding.
Thanks good food
This restaurant has amazing food. We both loved our meals. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful! We will be back!
Waiter served Louis Jadot pouilly fuisse at room temperature. Wine sat in ice bucket till end of meal.
Came for 65th birthday celebration and birthday not acknowledged.
Dual lobster tails were fabulous and appetizers were gourmet.
The Library is a place I will return to. Bobby our waiter was fantastic with a great sense of humor! The food was exquisite. Wine list was also great! Very romantic dinner.
The Library is always a consistent and pleasurable dining experience. It is a fine dining experience, expect to pay more, but enjoy a excellent food and waitstaff.
Interesting restaurant. Overall experience was good. Somethings were not acceptable, or easy to understand. First, the waiter made no offer of tap water. Yes, shame on me for not asking, he said Spring or sparkling and we said Spring. Next thing we knew, he was pouring water from a bottle (Note: down the street is an excellent restaurant, Hook & Barrel, that served water from a bottle at no additional charge). Anyway, I stopped him from opening a second bottle. When I received the bill, I was charged for 2 bottles of water (They removed the second when it was pointed out without issue).
In a first, the prices on the two menus we received were different. They apologized and the manager came out and made it a point to say that the rising beef and general food prices made it necessary. I'm in the food business. He should have been honest and told us they raised prices for the holidays.
As for the meal, my Filet Au Poivre was prepared tableside and while we were told it was an 8 oz filet, two 4 oz fillets were prepared, one rather rare, the other cooked perfectly. I made no complete on the rare fillet as the beef quality was excellent. The bananas foster for dessert was outstanding.
The dining room was alright. Must admit there were only four tables in the room that had people and we could easily hear comments from across the room (it's how we learned they offered tap water at no charge). It seems if the dining room were full it would have been much louder. Also, the lighting. For a French, romantic restaurant, the lighting was much too bright. If they had a dimmer switch on the very large chandelier in the center of the room they could get the lighting right and make the back lighting on the bookshelves up high really pop and look great.
Bottom line, I am on the fence if I will return here as we really enjoyed some other restaurants in our first trip to Myrtle Beach.
One last note, every one we encountered at the Library were very nice.
Food was fantastic. Service was great. Loved this restaurant
We will look forward to returning. We enjoyed our evening.
Excellent food, excellent service. Best French Onion soup this side of France! Plus an interesting twist on the she crap soup - both were great.
Outstanding service with an extremely knowledgeable server, Josh. We really liked that he had tasted the food, and the wines, and could ask questions to help determine what we might enjoy the most. He recommended wines that were more to our liking than the ones we normally would have chosen. The food we chose was prepared perfectly. It's also nice to have a table-side Caesar salads and Cherries Jubilee dessert. The restaurant is cozy and quiet, so it's a lovely place to dine with friends. We'll be back!
Best fine dining in Myrtle Beach- no contest. If you miss this place, you have missed out. Beef carpaccio, lobster, salads, French onion soup, and filet were all outstanding. Only second to their wait staff (wish I could remember his name) and chef's friendliness and professionalism.
Food was very good- just surprised that ambience doesn’t quite match. It is in a strip mall and interior pretty basic. Some high wingback library type chairs at each table, full length bookshelves, wallpaper and a few decor changes would make a big difference. A large part of dining for us is ambiance. Also pretty pricey so don’t expect a value based dinner. Good wine list. The hostess was nice and young so just needs to learn not to sit three tables next to each other when the restaurant is empty after 8. Thankfully the third couple asked to move for the same reason. We would go more often if the venue changed or ambience improved.
Fantastic waiter and delicious food. Perfect
The French onion soup was very good but can’t say the same for the she crab soup. My wife’s Alaskan Halibut was excellent but my barrel steak was overpowered by the sauce.
Cocktails were just ok .
Overpriced meal, Old Fashion drink awful, waiter upselled food to point annoying. Up charged on steak size and not told price increase, food was ok but not for prices charged. Had heard such good things but this new location evidently not to standard of original restaurant location.
Surprised to find this lovely restaurant in a little strip mall but well worth the trip! True fine dining experience that is hard to find anywhere. Excellent menu with fresh lobster &other fish. Richly sauteed mushrooms & several choices for a vegetarian. Intimate decor but ignore the fake fireplace!
Excellent Server, Bryan Deemer. He added an additional element of excellence to the dining experience. His friendliness, kindness, knowledge of menu, and conversation was delightful. We will ask for him every time we visit. He represents your business superbly.
Outstanding as usual. My wife and I travel to MB annually and always include a visit to the Library.
Excellent food and service.
We had not been to The Library since their move from down town. Had the table service including caesar salad, steak au poivre, steak diane and sides: cream spinach, carrots, potatoes. It was all great! Thanks Bryan and Keith.
We had a very pleasant dining experience. The food was cooked perfectly and complimented with excellent service. There were too many delicious choices and I can't wait to return to try them all.
First time eating there since the move and enjoyed the experience
We really enjoyed our dinner. Our waiter Josh did a great job and helped us select our dinners. The tenderloin was perfectly cooked (med rare) and very tender. The halibut was also very good. We had the seafood comb as an appetizer. It was soooo good. We will definitely be back.
Just so you know.... it is pricey but you get what you pay for at this restaurant.
The very best restaurant and bar in Myrtle Beach and a very enjoyable experience.!
The food was amazing. We both had the filet mignon with blue cheese topping. It was by far the best steak I have ever had. We shared the seafood trio as a starter and it too was phenomenal. Oh and the French onion soup is amazing as well. Prior to our night at The Library we were not impressed with the Myrtle beach restaurant scene. But The Library changed that. Take a bow that was amazing!
We were there for our anniversary. Our waiter Josh was super and the food and drinks were delicious. Definitely going back
The service was outstanding, reminiscent of an old school club or steak house. Food was cooked to perfection.
My fiancé and I wanted to celebrate finding our wedding venue and setting our wedding date. Perfect customer service from the time we walked in to the time we left. Food was outstanding and our server Josh was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
