The Lexington

The Lexington provided a memorable experience and special birthday dinner. Owen was especially attentive, informative, and fun! Oh, and the food was fabulous! Thank you!

2nd visit to the Lexington since it opened, but first dining room experience. Reese was our server and he was great! The ambiance was fantastic and the food was flavorful and perfectly prepared. I would definitely recommend the Lex.

Lovely! Subtle, cheerful Christmas music playing the background - the inside has a nice updated vintage feel which made for the perfect atmosphere. Ideal cocktails, sincere service, really enjoyable food.

The Lexington was recommended by a local - I had flown in from NYC. They said the specials are the most special and they were spot on! Service was excellent, food was delicious. Great place.

The service and food was impeccable! This is my first visit back since the change to new owners. I highly recommend The Lexington and I will be back!

The soup was good. That is the one thing that our group of 5 agreed upon. The rest was mediocre turkey & steak and inedible stuffing “loaf”. We sat in the front area which was decent but the back area was dark and had metal banquet chairs. Doubt we will be back.

Was somewhat disappointed in their Thanksgiving day dinner. Waiter never asked if I'd like a second drink. Did not receive any bread. For their pre-fix priced dinner, I expected better from them. We will look for another option next year.

Our party of 6 had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner there. Attentive, professional, polite staff who seemed to enjoy the day as well. We ordered a variety of dishes offered, all tasty and beautifully presented. We appreciated the ambience. Would definitely consider returning for other holiday meals cuz they "got this."

We will be back to again be wowed by the deliciousness of the food, the great care of the servers to be sure our expectations and experience was the very best, to the expert libation preparers. A wonderful meal in all aspects.

Wonderful food. Professional service. We loved the appetizers and the main dishes. Dessert was fine but really not needed after all the wonderful food we had already eaten.

We had our first date at the Lexington in 1971. Married 47 years. We had been there several times over the years after moving to Chicago. Special day to go back and have a lovely dinner with my 93 year old mother and brother.

I recently brought two friends to the Lexington for dinner and will be completely transparent and honest about the absolutely terrible experience we had. We had reservations for 7:30pm and were seated right away. After ordering drinks, we placed an order for two appetizers and our entrees. At 8:25pm, an individual came over to our table and mentioned that our appetizers would be out shortly and thanked us for being patient. Over 1hr for two appetizers? That’s pretty ridiculous for 6 oysters and 4 pieces of shrimp. We received our appetizers and as we were finishing them, another individual came over to our table to tell one of my friends that because of our wait for the appetizers they no longer had his entrée for the evening. How could you possibly take over an hour to let someone know their entrée is not available? Keep in mind, this is now basically letting us know that our entrees will not be served to us for a while because they told him he would have to order something different off the menu. Our entrees were FINALLY served to us at 9:30pm, two hours after we sat down. The food was very good but the experience so far could not have been worse. After finishing our entrees, we ordered dessert which was pretty good. When closing out the bill our server told us that after all of this disaster of an experience, our dessert would be paid for. Dessert? Are you serious? You failed to deliver appetizers in an appropriate time, you told us late that someone had to reorder an entrée, all the time we waited for all of this, and you are only going to comp our dessert? Absolutely pathetic. To end the night, I went to close out the bill and had a gift card that was going to cover part of the bill. The server, Jeffrey, came back to the table and let me know he forgot to use the gift card so had to charge my card the full amount and then void it. He eventually used the gift card but told me to watch my credit card statement in a few days to make sure the correction was reflect

Awesome Service and experience. We had a great time.

We had a magical evening celebrating my parent's 80th birthdays. The staff COULD NOT have been more attentive. My parents felt like royalty from the moment we sat down. What a great special occasion venue. The food was mostly good. Several of us loved our dinners. The special was a risotto that was very bland. Other than that we really enjoyed our entire experience.

Celebrated a birthday there. Custom menus and a photographer with a great take home photo! Nice touch. Jeffery took good care of us! Free Jazz and delicious cocktails and plenty of good food.

Food was really tasty but I do think it’s a bit too pricy. I don’t think there’s anything on the dining room menu for under $29. But it was a tasty dinner and the dining room is absolutely beautiful.

Classic dishes with a new "kick" to them... well-prepared and flavorful. Our party of four, among us, had the onion buillion (Lex's take on French onion soup), red pepper soup (a bit of a zing, very robust red pepper flavor), the wedge salad (very nice vinaigrette, sweet and tart as it should be, and with PEELED little tomatoes!), the salmon (perfect temperature as per each diner's request), the special lobster risotto (creamy but not mushy), the steak Diane (really nice sauce, perfectly cooked, frites on the side nice and hot and crisp), and their "dirty beans", which are green beans stir fried (seemed like) in a spicy sweet-hot red chili sauce -very nice. Various cocktails were good, nice selection of wines by the glass. Service was top-notch -- attentive without being intrusive. Server knew whatever we needed to ask about the food, drinks, etc. All in all, a very nice dinner experience!

The ribeye was so completely covered in a sauce that it didn't taste like steak. Dish was inconsistent with menu description.

We were celebrating my wife’s birthday. The food was excellent and the service was as well. If anything the pricing is a bit on the high side but the quality was worth it!

Eight friends honored our 92 year old aunt as she wanted a "special brunch at the Lexington". We even brought a blue fox stole she won in 1963 while a contestant on Art Linkletter's "House Party". She has kept it ever since and we all took turns wearing it yesterday. Festive! Our server was friendly, efficient and seemed to fit right in with us. The food - to a person - was delicious. Thank you, Lexington Cafe, for indulging us and sharing our birthday excitement right along with us. We will be back!

This was exceptional in every way! We celebrated a Birthday with Sunday Brunch and 8 people. The staff was so wonderful to work with and the service excellent the whole time! The atmosphere is so pretty and the food was delicious! We highly recommend this!

Our anniversary dinner was recognized by the hostess, but not our waiter.
Steak Diane had good flavor, but was tough. Fries were not hot, but almost room temperature.
We were disappointed.

Our first time. Both our couple friends had been many times, even since childhood, so we wanted to come from Duluth to try it. We had a great time. We were seated at a round table, as per reservation request. We were in the back room, which was good as it was a bit quieter. The food... from steaks to potatoes to salmon to veggies and risotto and bread was delicious and cooked to order. We enjoyed our drinks and dessert also, loved the carrot cake! We were there for three and one half hours, and we were able to have an enjoyable ride with a driver from the St. Paul hotel. Really a great evening, not one complaint. Will return.

This was my first time eating at the Lexington. I didn’t know the various rooms were so different. We were put in the room with no character by the kitchen (two older women). I later discovered any of the other rooms were nicer and had some ambiance. Very disappointed for my first visit. The food I ordered was just ok. Soup of the day and beet salad. Next time I’ll ask for something in other rooms. They had plenty of space in any of those other rooms. There was a large party at the back of our room so guess they wanted to give the servers (who were excellent) more than just the large party to serve.

Food was little bit salty but overall tasty! Drinks were awesome! I would definitely go back again
