Have never been to Lexington before and we came for restaurant week. Noise was very loud during dinner. Food was fair; one fish entree was cold when it arrived at the table and the other steak entree was luke warm. Service was very slow as we had to flag down waiters to get services. The bread basket was excellent! Menu prices looked very high and would probably not come back for dinner based on those prices. Have heard the Sunday brunch is good and may try that in the future.
Had a wonderful evening at the Lexington. I had the pecan encrusted whitefish as part of their restaurant week menu. All of us had a different dessert and each was first rate in its own right. It was my first time and I am now looking for excuses to go again and have the whitefish.
Beautiful restaurant with exquisite and expensive cuisine. The white fish is delicious although the frisee salad could use a bit more dressing.
Have not been to the "Lex" for many years. Food was absolutely outstanding squash soup one of the best soups I have ever had. Beef was cooked perfectly. wines by the glass are pricey but overall an excellent dinner with excellent service. Will make a point of going back soon
soup was not very hot. service was slow. waited about an hour for our food once we ordered. bill was not accurate after we discussed how check should be split. portion sizes small for restaurant week menu.
Seated with a large table with a baby and two very small children running around their table and near others with parents that could not have cared less. We didn’t complain but management could have discreetly said a word to the parents.
Heard sooo much about the renewed Lex that we needed to try it out. My family and I went last night for a special birthday meal for my wife. Made a reservation through Open Table as such. Long review short, the food was fine + but the service was not very good. For whatever the reasons (never really explained to us) the kitchen was super slow. Listen I get that can happen, but the server didn't communicate much if anything about the delays. At the end of the meal we were handed the bill with nothing comp'd or even a hint of an apology from the server. Like nothing had gone wrong. It was my daughter who chased down the manager and share our experiences with him. He promptly came back with a $50 gift card, which of course was appreciated. The issue I had with that part is you should never have to ask for compensation as the restaurant should already offer it, unless of course if they thought this was all normal. Be Better Lex and we will come back...I guess we have to now as we have a gift card.
Waited over an hour for our entrees after ordering on a less than half full evening, had to stop server for beverage requests and it got extremely loud as we were sitting close to the bar - pretty disappointed for the reputation and just okay food.
Had a b'day dinner for my hubby, the staff was very friendly and professional, we ordered steaks and couple of sides! So delicious!
Great birthday dinner for my wife, service was fantastic
Excellent service from both Grace and Jorge! Shared the Tomahawk ribeye and it was fantastic! Love the Lex!
Our server Owen was awesome!
The managers were friendly too!
Owen, our server, was great. We were celebrating a birthday and they took a picture of our table and presented it to the birthday boy and the end of our meal. Love the Lex.
We ate in the Williamsburg room, which had a lively buzz but wasn’t as loud as the cocktail bar area. The service was great and friendly, as usual. The manager and chef both stopped by to see how we were enjoying the meal, which was a sensational scallop dish that we both ordered. Love, love, love the Lex!
Sadly they hit a number of high notes for our 25th anniversary meal. The only problem was the food. We ordered the special Tomahawk steak for two. On first appearance it looked fine but unfortunately it was not, it was so under cooked to be inedible, the center was raw.
So it went back to the kitchen and I was expecting a completely new steak. No new steak ! We got back our leavings which had been cooked some more so that they came out of the kitchen edible but chewy. We ate maybe 3 bites between us.
All apologies from the restaurant and in the end after we turned down complimentary desserts they offered to comp our wine and then after we made a comment that the steak we'd sent away twice was not exactly what we wanted they comped the steak instead. We didn't want a comp, we came out for a celebratory meal and we left hungry.
Sadly it busted our celebration as apologies and not bringing a completely new steak ruined our celebratory evening out. Other people seemed to be enjoying their food but our night out was nixxed. So we'll be back some time to see if they can manage to adequately cook a steak but not any time soon.
Service was extremely slow. Drinks and food took forever. Then when it finally arrived, four out of five entrees had to be sent back—one was completely wrong and three were barely warm. They said sorry a bunch of times but never offered to comp anything. When you spend that kind of money you expect a much higher level of service and quality. Will not go back.
A very special place, good food, excellent service, very good ambiance, the perfect place to celebrate a special celebration.
We had an outstanding waiter and delicious food. The music played on the sound system was loud and didn’t seem like the right fit for an upscale supper club.
Attentive service, full wine list, imaginative menu, stately environs, well-executed food preparation, all coalesce for a fabulously enjoyable dinner with friends. The Lexington continues it's tradition well!
Always feels special.
What a perfect place to celebrate 3 birthdays! Our menus said "Happy Birthday", our waitress took a photo and converted it to a birthday card, and we got a candle with a scoop of ice cream to celebrate. Seating for our group of 7 was as requested on our reservation. Service staff was attentive, understanding, and friendly. Everyone had a lovely time.
Amazing food and service, and special attention for our anniversary (with menu printed with “happy anniversary” and the date, and a special photo)!
Would only recommend to a very wealthy friend. Very good food but extremely overpriced with service that went hot and cold. Certainly not like the old days.
Wonderful experience from the first moment. Little acknowledgments like customized anniversary menu and anniversary dessert were a fun treat. Every course was savory, there was no wrong choice for the menu. Beautiful room and ambiance. Highly recommend!
As always a great place for dining and catching up with friends. Great service and the food was fantastic
Overall a bit underwhelming this year. We went a year ago for our first anniversary and had a wonderful experience - amazing food - they even personalized a menu for our anniversary!!. This year was only okay - food wasn't quite at the same level and they took/printed a picture of us instead of the menu, which would not have been our preference as we were hoping to collect the menus over the years. 🤷🏻♀️ Not sure this will continue to be our tradition now.
They really go all in to make it a special experience for an anniversary. Food was excellent.
Had dinner here for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Wonderful experience. Beautiful dining area, top notch service(they even printed the menus to read Happy 50th anniversary). We were all raving about our meals. And-they had live music and took a picture of us all. We will definitely be back!
We attended the Lexington for my birthday. They had special menus made for us saying "Happy Birthday". We went pretty early in the evening so it was pretty quiet and empty when we arrived. It has a classic throwback feel for fine dining when you enter.
Service: Very polite and professional. I do not remember our servers name but she was very nice and provided the service I would expect from this place. Assistants were very helpful as well. It was very nice to finally have service that matches the expectations.
We had the onion bouillon, celery Caesar, salmon Oscar, NY strip, fingerling potatoes, creamed greens, birthday sundae, and strawberry shortcake.
Presentation of everything is wonderful. Flavor was great. The salad was very refreshing. Salmon Oscar is med rare- they make you aware of this, and it makes the dish so much more flavorful. Sides are family style and very generous portions. I recommend the creamed greens. Strawberry shortcake - I believe that it has basil in it which is a great addition.
We had a great experience and will return. I would recommend this to anyone, especially for special occasions.
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with friends and had drinks on the roof before.
Good, but should have been better.
Had a $50 steak that was ordered med and was rare and had a huge vein through it. Atmosphere was good but would not pay that again for the food.
The Lex never disappoints.
Went to experience the burger that reportedly won the award for best burger. Average burger, awesome fries, extremely loud. Took 45 minutes to get there due to traffic. Just not worth the trip.
Had an out of town guest. He was very impressed. We both had a steak. The tenderloin (medium rare) was melt in you mouth with great flavor. The sezchuan green beans were really good too. Service was excellent. We were in the dinning room but right next to the open to the bar area which as busy. The bar noise was loud but didn't really bother us. Overall excellent atmosphere. The Lex is back in really nice form
We dined in for the first time on a Monday night so the restaurant wasn't very busy which adds to the noise level. Our server was very pleasant and helpful with advice on their menu. The decor is updated 1930's which is what one would hope to find. We were celebrating a birthday and when we arrived, our menu had "Happy Birthday" printed at the top and a photo was taken of our group and two copies provided inside a nice folder - a very nice touch. My husband had their pork chops and was very impressed with flavor and tenderness. It would be fun to try the bar sometime where they have live music on the weekends.
I was long overdue for a great wine, steak, fries and Caesar salad and The Lex always delivers!
This was my fourth time going to the Lex for brunch on Sunday. We ordered Bailey's and coffee and took the first step which tasted good. The second taste did not taste as good and then we saw that the coffee and Bailey's was curdled. The waitress said that that sometimes happens when you pour hot coffee into Bailey's. I said it happens when the Bailey's is left out with no refrigerationr and eventually curdles when it's old. They opened a new bottle and brought us two more cups. This was the second time I ordered their chef signature ewhite fish with arugula salad dish only to have the Whitefish plated with iceberg lettuce. When I had it the first time I really enjoyed it. The bitterness of arugula along with the white fish and the roasted tomato dressing was excellent but this time it was again very disappointing to pay $17 for 2 oz of sauteed white fish with a regular Iceberg salad. I did complain and the manager did bring me out another salad plate with the arugula on it along with the roasted tomato dressing. This came about 15 minutes after the first dish was served. I was surprised that there was no comp given. I will probably go again an order the same thing again but I will say to the waitress that I do not want it if it is not presented as it is says on the menu. And I won't order Bailey's and coffee there again. It just wasn't worth the $10 charged.
We had the following problems with the Lexington:
1) Our table was not stable and could not be fixed. We moved to a new table.
2) Both the Manhattan and Martini we ordered were disappointing.
3) The meatballs in my order were cold.
4) I was charged for a drink I did not order.
Wonderful dinner for our anniversary! Very accommodating for us splitting the soup and salad course, which we appreciated. Terrific service from Lark! This remodeled restaurant is perfect for a quiet dinner party.
