Horrible. Horrible. Food was absolutely awful. Pork chop was so tough it almost couldn’t be cut. They need to hire a new chef who can actually cook. Stay away from this place
Amazing staff, ambiance, cuisine!!! Doesn’t get better than this - its perfection
Superb service, ambiance and jazz background. Five stars for the scrumptious food.
On a very quiet Monday night we had all nthe attention we could ask for and the two main courses were delicious, if pricey I will go again.
Thank you, as always! We loved everything.
First class service and delicious food in a beautiful room. Outstanding every way!
outdoor dining was done extremely well and the food and ambience and service did not disappoint
Wonderful dinner at The Leopard to bring in the New Year.
This neighborhood mainstay always comes through with delicious food, a welcoming ambience and quiet dining room that’s great for conversation and calm. Best of all are the professional staff who didn’t even bat an eye when some Champagne spilled. Got us out on time to see the opera to boot.
Support this local gem. Or visit from out of town. You won’t be disappointed!
New Year’s celebration and everything was perfect. Energetic, happy ambiance, food cooked to perfection. We has a really good time but at the Leopard you always do.
Class at best level
Food service friendship warmth
Henry is a star
We first discovered "The Leopard" when is was The Cafe des Artistes. At that time it was an old style New York elegant restaurant with a small wooden bar tucked away in the back. When it returned under new ownership it had a different ambience. Fortunately, most of the murals by Howard Chandler Christy are still there (worth a visit for the artwork alone), but the old bar has been replaced and the restaurant has a more modern feel. Well, that's progress?
All that aside, it has been our favorite restaurant for special occasions for many years when we were "tourists". But almost three years ago we moved to the Upper West Side and "The Leopard" at Cafe des Artistes remains our favorite.
The service is world class, the food is excellent, and the ambience - though different - is perfect for a special occasion or just a wonderful, relaxing and intimate dinner.
Excellent range of Italian cuisine, accompanied by outstanding wines and served by professional staff in the beautiful setting of the Hotel des Artistes.
Service was friendly and good. Good was very good!
Went for Christmas evening meal. By 19:45 had run out of first choice dishes. “Special pasta dish” inedible. Evening was saved by great table service, ambiance and wonderful Zabaione.
Exquisite food. We enjoyed ourselves and the pleasant ambiance around us.
Christmas dinner was fabulous!
Great service and food !!! Guenady was super!!will be back
The food was fabulous
Service above and beyond!!
The Leopard is superb. I recall Cafe des Artiste with fondness. The Leopard is a fitting restaurant for this iconic location. We had lunch there on a quiet Saturday with friends. It was the best meal I've had in at least the last five years. The burratta salad was sublime. The Dover Sole the best we've ever had, ANYWHERE. Every dish was perfecly prepared and presented by Nicola, a professional and friendly young man who knew his stuff. He suggested an organic Italian Chardonnay that was a perfect pairing with our meal. We'll be back!
Awesome place. Had a great meal and will be sure to return. Loved the food and service was amazing.
A family favorite. Thank you for the warm welcome and delightful evening. See you again soon.
Lovely dinner pre Nutcracker, warmly greeted and seated. No rush. We both started with the octopus appetozer which was tender and tasty! Then went with Pasta , I had the Malfalde with mixed mushrooms and chesnuts, wonderful tough could use more chesnuts! Ny companion had the multi grain spaghetti with shrimp, also enjoyed very much.
Complimentory biscotti was a welcome ending!
Love the murals Christmas lights, and other ambiance!
Excellent...food and service are very special...this was and remains a very special place.
Fantastic experience! Fine dining and outstanding service!
Thank you for a wonderful meal. Very lovely mean. Waiter was very nice. Everything was excellent! I hope to return in the near future.
Had dining outside - excellent service. Good light though a bit salty. Expensive restaurant.
Booked an outside table but was accommodated inside at my friend’s request. Service was impeccable. Food shared was thoughtfully delivered separately which we appreciated. Salads were delicious and I have never tasted gnocchi so light. My guest was delighted and so am I.
We went for the ambiance and the lovely murals of wood nymphs. I hadn't been since 2007 when the cuisine was continentalFrench and wonderful. The pandemic closed it and its reopened as an "Italian" restaurant. The food is bland and portions are small and overpriced.
My companion is disabled and this is not the place for someone who is physically challenged. The entrance no longer is through the lobby but through a narrow door with thresholds. The bathrooms are up and down a series of stairs through diners and the bar making it difficult to navigate.
Overall, it's the same beautiful space with mediocre food abs sky high prices.
Superb food and service in elegant subdued setting.
This restaurant is on a stunning block off Central Park. It reflects an elegant NYC, for the most part, now lost. Dress up and enjoy your trip back to a nostalgic time.
Great pre-Lincoln Center choice...elegant, not stuffy, very good food and service. We'll be back...again!
Impeccable service and amazing dishes. The ambiance and decor are unbeat. Would return again
Disappointed that lamb or duck wasn’t on menu
Second time eating at this fine dining restaurant on a side street off of Central Park near Lincoln Center. Food, service, setting is superb with staff pleasant and professional. Outdoor dining is cozy and intimate while we'll sheltered and heated. Sundays they offer BYOB to allow you to bring your own special wine without a corking fee. I can t say enough about the quality of food preparation.
Our friends were in from Ohio. We recommended the Leopard for dinner. We dine there often. Henry, the maitre de, always take great care of us.
We had a wonderful evening. We live near by. :)
Lovely, as always. Great spot, with delicious food and warm, welcoming, consistently excellent service. The food options are great and always interesting, with something for everyone. There were a few large tourist families who were loud and obnoxious with too many poorly behaved children in tow. but that's the Holiday Season in NYC, and not the restaurant's fault. This is one of my favorite spots in Manhattan. The Leopard at des Artistes is hands-down the best place to stop for a drink or meal near Lincoln Center and The Met.
