A beautiful space graced by the murals from the 1930’s and the original Cafe des Artistes - I dined at the original several times and this is a wonderful successor. The sparkling rose was a lovely start along with octopus and several other delicious appetizers. The Dover sole with spinach was perfectly boned at the table and delicious. The pork loin was a large portion and equally good. The polenta with truffles was yummy. And the olive oil cake with blood orange was great. We loved every thing and plan to return soon.
Service of Dover sole was especially skillful and a joy to observe
Excellent food and correct service. Outdoor table was a good option to enjoy Thanksgiving day
Truly great restaurant. Octopus could have been better. Service was great. Wish they had a more varied wine selection in the Rose category.
We always make a reservation when we are in town. This time our visit was a post opera meal at a very late hour - the food, as always was exceptional, the staff professional, in the non-rushed, welcoming elegance that we have come to love.
Beautiful dining experience throughout the entire night.
Celebrating a birthday with family. Everyone loved their meal! Service was excellent. We love this restaurant and come here often since we live in neighborhood.
Great Outdoor option for dining even in the winter.
We went to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday after a show. I wanted someplace very special and it did not disappoint!!! There were six of us and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend.
Excellent service. Dined outdoors. Pasta and bronzino crudo excellent.
Nicola is great!
It was a wonderful bday celebration.
Beautiful ambience less than distinguished italan food efficiently served. My pasta sauce spaghetti with duck a special had an odd flavor .My wifes' lasagna also was mediocre in flavor .We had no opportunity for feedback and frankly the tastes were really just mediocre and theree;fore dissapointing.
First time back since the fire/renovation/new owners. It was great. The staff was extremely nice and the atmosphere was just what we expected, great as well
All four of us had the Dover Sole (special that night), and it was delicious. The Brussels Sprouts with the fish were nicely cooked, but we didn't think they were the best accompaniment. A side order of spinach was very good. As appetizers, the spaghetti carbonara was as good as we've ever had (and better than I can make). Zabaglione and berries was made table side, delicious, and very generous.
I am obsessed with struncatura: Multigrain spaghettoni, shrimp, neonata, lemon
It was louder than I expected, but we enjoyed. Was celebrating my spouse’s promotion. Food was delicious!
Just a great place for a special dinner, or a pre-theater meal. The service is knowledgeable, fast, and friendly. The kitchen excellent, and the wine list quite good! Highly recommend!!
Spectacular place, the food is delicious there.. Highly recommend it!
A very enjoyable evening!!
It was my pick for my birthday dinner, still nervous that my husband wouldn’t like it……
But he was more than pleased!
My girlfriend bday experience.
Relaxing delicious brunch
Everything was delicious. The gnocchi was the lightest, most delicious gnocchi I have ever had. The menu changes frequently. Two months ago we had a completely different menu. Service is excellent. Outdoor space is lovely. Pricey but worth it.
Food was delicious...except that my pork medalion was tough not tender.
We had a great dinner with wonderful service. One of our favorites in the neighborhood.
We love it there and dine there often. :)
Loud, good service, very mediocre food.
The service is extraordinary and the ambiance (inside or out) is wonderful. A charming, relaxing and beautiful NYC refuge. Staff could not be better: attentive, responsive and willing to do whatever it takes for a memorable meal. We had brunch, food was decent but nothing exceptional. Still a great overall brunch experience.
I didn’t think it was good value for the money. My meal was just OK
We've e a ten here several times and have never been disappointed. On the whole the staff is very accomdative of our needs. The venison was excellent.
Rude assistant maitre d. Ok food, Good service.
Il Gattipardo is much better.
We had an 8:15 pm reservation for 4 last Friday night. It was a 30th Wedding Anniversary and 1st Marathon pre celebration for my son. We arrived at 8:10 pm and had requested an indoor table. When we checked in the young woman (and very unfriendly older gentleman) at the desk seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. They first didn’t see our online Reservation w Open Table. Then they asked where we wanted to be “indoors or outside.” The table area was very pretty outside w many avail tables, but seemed a bit chilly.
I hesitated and said we prefer indoors as requested, but might consider outdoors. Then my family said No! We want indoors. They asked us to wait for a table outside. Fifteen (15) minutes went by. I asked again when we would be seated and they said, “We are waiting for an outdoor table as you requested.” I quickly corrected the misunderstanding and they then said, “Well, we don’t have an indoor table so please wait until one clears.” We were finally seated 25 min after our reservation- all while standing on the sidewalk. The very last 5 min of the wait they finally offered complimentary glasses of Prosecco at their back bar but we wanted real cocktails at that point.
I felt like this place was so poorly run for such an upscale restaurant. The same hostess knocked over a small trash can of papers while putting our coats away. She was entirely frazzled and I can only assume brand new to her job. The entire first 1/2 hour there was such a turn off and we almost left.
The meal itself was very good, but not outstanding. Our bill was $650 plus for 4 and we had 1 moderate bottle of wine and 4 cocktails. 4 entrees, 3 apps and 2 desserts with coffee.
So the value of this place is way off. Even for NYC. I had to remind our waitress of our 2 celebrations - no one mentioned it the entire dinner until I told waitress. She did decorate the desserts, which was nice but, again expected at such an upscale place.
You can all do much better for a big night!
Great restaurant, excellent service, our waiter was superb the bronzino was delicious and the mozarella was very good as well. The seafood past a was great although it could have come with a little more seefood. Cheapest bottle of Chardonnay was $130. Overall, excellent food that appeared overpriced.
We had 6 diners out for a business dinner. Service was attentive and very good. Food was excellent and everything about the meal and environment was first class. Bill was a bit over $1000 for the 6 of us including drinks and we tipped well. The GM and waiter went over and above, showed us the private dining room for our next visit and made me and the group feel welcome. Will go back. All in the group complemented the choice.
Wonderful place to be as always
I love this Restaurant and am never disappointed in the food or the service.
They have many loyal patrons
Very elegant old world classic Southern Italian food. Everything was really delicious and interestingly prepared. We ate inside, but there is nice outdoor seatting available as well. Service was impeccable. They treated us like royalty. It was my wife's birthday anmd they brought out a beautiful birtrhday plate with her dessert with a candle in it.
Gnocchi with crab and lemon sauce was outstanding
The wines were delicious
Our server was very friendly, courteous and professional
From the warm greeting, to the perfect service, to the complimentary biscotti with your coffee, dining at The Leopard is always a pleasure. The branzino is the best in the city (usually enormous!), the pastas are different (one with chestnuts - delicious), the wine list ample. The Sunday BYOB is a great deal, but we go on any day.
Really lovely. We live in the neighborhood and will return.
I would like to see more pastas that leave our cheese.
