The restaurant was clean, the food perfect, and the service was quick. The flourless limoncello was superb.
Excellent food and outstanding service
Nice place , great service. Neighborhood restaurant. Would definitely come back
The Leopard at des Artistes was a wonderful dining experience! The wait staff were very attentive and other dining guests were incredibly friendly and talkative. Great crowd this place attracts, wonderful restaurant!
Very nice night. Excellent and attentive service. Good food and a beautiful setting.
The waitress, the Maitre D, and all others serving were courteous, prompt, and doing their best to be helpful.
The selections offered in menu was not huge. But what we chose turned out to be excellent.
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner on a busy Friday evening.
I went to re-visit the space with its lovely murals. Unfortunately, the food was only so so. The appetizer was disappointingly bland. My lamb chops were quite grissly and difficult to cut and chew. The berries in the dessert were not quite ripe. The space is still beautiful.
Beautiful room and excellent service. Food is very good but not exceptional as you would expect given the cost. The pasta dishes seem to offer the best value. The lamb chops at $52 were disappointing . Only 3 medium chops that were somewhat fatty. Once again you come to the conclusion that there may be more places of value out there.
This is a consistently fine and gracious restaurant
Service and food were both excellent. Wait staff was very attentive and frequently took steps to please us.
Food was very good and nicely presented.
Definitely a place to return to
The best bronzino ever, always consistently perfect.
Great food, romantic setting, and fabulous service.
A favorite pre-Lincoln Center, more enjoyable if two full hours is allowed. Burrata salad was tasty, the fluke carpaccio excellent; pappardelle with lamb ragu a great pasta choice, while lamb and fish dishes were nicely presented and arranged. Wine list has many moderate-price choices as well as select regional expensive choices. Service was attentive and mindful of curtain time, front desk coat service improved from prior visits.
The Leopard is always a treat, and you know Gianfranco, Henry, Mario and the wonderful team will take terrific care of you. My favorite dining room in NYC!
Wonderful, attentive service, unbeatable atmosphere, and mostly excellent fare. We both ordered the same main course (fish), which was good, but did not achieve the level of the starters, pasta, or dessert. I would definitely recommend.
It is always a pleasure to be at The Leopard at Des Artistes! The food is delicious, there are many choices, the staff is elegant and it all adds up to a wonderful occasion.
The Leopard at des Artistes is a rare jewel of a restaurant.
Beautiful décor, outstanding service and excellent food.
Our server, Marianna, was delightful, friendly and knowledgeable of
all menu items. She ensured our evening was perfectly executed
and provided a birthday surprise for me. A restaurant to enjoy a lovely
meal & perfect to entertain company.
We’ve dined at The Leopard before but a big event at the MET and that beautiful walk on 67th from the Met to the Leopard on an early Fall evening was hard to resist. The restaurant was very elegant and I like way they preserved the original Des Artistes paintings and incorporated them in the current decor. The food philosophy at the Leopard is to serve simple fare and true to the taste of the food. Butternut squash soup came simply that way - plain, no cream, no added flavors but just enhanced by flavor of the crop itself. Sam goes with the chicken breast served with a simple corn succotash in its own juices and the 3 meager pieces of lamb ribs, seasoned only with salt and pepper, accompanied by the mild chutney, unadulterated fingerling potatoes and haricot verts. There’s something to be said for this simplicity but we could understand how such simplicity could come with such astronomical prices. I might have fared better as Mr Cave Man accidentally dropping my lamb chops on the fire and serving it to the wife. Overall, the food was simple fare, the decor elegant and upscale, the prices astronomical, and the service outstanding. We wouldn’t go back though...
Great restaurant before the Opera.
Simply excellent in every aspect
Great late night place - outstanding service and food
The Leopard at des Artistes offers wonderful food, great service and a lovely Jazz band on Sunday afrernoons. I enjoyed the Green Salad, Pasta Bolognese, Sorbet and Coffee. Everything was dellicious! I look forward to going to the Leopard again soon.
After reading the reviews, I was quite excited to book The Leopard to celebrate my daughter’s engagement. We arrived early and were seated at a lovely table. The waiter welcomed us and once we were settled, he said to celebrate he would like to bring us some complimentary Prosecco for the occasion. Since I had read other reviews where complimentary Prosecco had been offered, of course we said yes. We then proceeded to order a round of drinks, appetizers for the table, entrees and a dessert (which came with a lovely congratulations piped in chocolate). While the tab was $$$, when we left, I mentioned to my husband how nice it was they comped us for the Prosecco only to find out we were charged $15/glass. The food and service were wonderful, but I have to say, please be aware. We would have gladly ordered a bottle of wine to celebrate the occasion, but don’t make a gesture that isn’t. Just saying.
Jazz brunch was lovely
Our favorite go to restaurant. The Leopard never disappoints!
This is a beautiful, refined restaurant suitable for a special occasion or quiet dinner with friends. The waiter observed anniversary cards on our table and responded with complimentary Prosecco— a very nice touch. Prices are high, but at least portions are generous. I also appreciated the ability to order small “tasting” portions of featured wines. Overall, a lovely experience.
Pre theatre meal was perfect all around. Thx again!
Excellent sophisticated and simply lovely. Food superb.
Let’s start start with the positive. The food at Leopard at Des Artistes last Friday was excellent. The crab cakes appetizer, the Sicilian couscous, the passion fruit tart were delicious and flavorful. On the other hand, the service was not up to par for a restaurant of that caliber. Throughout our meal, six tables at the maximum were occupied. The restaurant was definitely not at maximum capacity. The service started being very attentive. Our server was very professional. She helped us choose the different courses and the wine. Service was very good until we were done with our entrées. At that point, we were completely ignored by the wait staff. There was a newly seated table with guests who seem to know the manager and chef. And they ended up being the focus off the wait staff. It was clear that we were done with our food but it took over 20 minutes for the staff to clear our plates. It also took a long time to get our desserts although they were just a passion fruit tart and sorbets. Then our server told us her shift was over and her colleague would take care of us for the remainder of our meal. Her colleague never stopped by our table. I had to stop him to ask for our check. Again, he and the rest of the staff seemed very focused on that other table. After over 10 minutes, we still didn’t have our check. I then stopped the manager and told him we were waiting for our check. He brought it immediately. The manager could tell we were frustrated, gave us bags of cookies on the way out but didn’t ask any questions. I contemplated addressing the service issue with him but there was no place to go to do it except outside the restaurant on the street which was not appropriate that late in the evening. Overall, despite the excellent food, it was a frustrating experience due to the service. I wish we had picked a different restaurant that night.
A beautiful neighborhood dining experience. Service is excellent and very professional. So happy to still have a place that is elegant, and reliable in all ways that matter.
Excellent meal, ambiance and very attentive staff. Customer service at its best.
Nice ambiance, good service. Food is not even close to what one expects for this highly overpriced establishment. We tried it ones before many years ago - where not happy then and decided to give it another try. Very disappointing.
Birthday celebration with family. Great evening!
The food was disappointing. This is the height of the best food of the year and the tomatoes you get at Whole Foods in Winter were better. No one lied there pasta dish and we all had different ones. Lovely atmosphere and very attentive service. But the food was not worth going here for.
First time at this nice quiet neighborhood fine Italian restaurant. The staff were so inviting and friendly and checked in with us several times to make sure that we were pleased. Everything we ordered was to our liking. My veal chop was absolutely delicious. I look forward to returning.
George, the maitre'd (and Henry) spoils you with attention, and they are particularly helpful with suggestions when requested. From the exceptional choices of wines by the glass at the beautiful bar, to the table side fileting of the Branzino, the experience is worth the price tag. My wife and I have been going here for years and I never wrote a review before so I thought it was time. We have never had anything less than an exquisite experience with delicious food. The menu and options are creative, distinct, consistently fresh and flavorful. The renovated art work and well-spaced tables creates an ambiance that perfectly compliments this unique dining experience. Spoil someone and try it.
Went for Saturday brunch. The food was exceptionally good. And the service was impeccable as always. Highly recommend.
One of the greatest restaurants for Southern Italian cuisine in the New York area. And the location is fascinating.
The Leopard is a handsome delightful restaurant whose food seems to be getting ever better and it wasn't bad to start. Welcome and service throughout exceptional. All of our food was made of high order ingredients, beautifully prepared and elegantly served. Have only been once outside of restaurant Week but will do something about this. Thanks for a fine evening.
If restaurant week is a chance for restaurants to show off, in the hopes they will convince you it is worth the money to come back, our dinner at The Leopard was a failure. The RW menu was very odd, and did not seem to have much to do with their regular bill of fare. So we weren’t able to get a sense of what they offer under normal circumstances. Then, the food was bland, with a very dated, old fashioned look and completely uninteresting presentation. My soup/broth with bits of seafood had almost no flavor, and many too many pieces of weird, small, shellfish floating around in it. Not a great combination either—shellfish with vaguely tomatoey broth. Main course was lamb chunks—overcooked, dark brown mixed with artichoke bites. Again, no flavor, and very unappetizing presentation. The dessert, while pretty to look at, and full of gorgeous plump blueberries, was bland and the crust of the tartelette, heavy, hard and thick. Even the “lemon” underneath and served in little drops around the plate had little to no zing.
Overall, uninspired food. Uninspired decor and a dull, cafeteria feeling where the average age was 75+. Yikes! Don’t know how they stay in business if this is how their normal offerings at their regular prices measure up.
