   We booked for a family of four and had the family roast dinner which was excellent value. The meat was well cooked and the veg, potato and Yorkshire Puddings were top drawer. It was very busy so service a little slow but this wasn’t a problem for us. All the staff were very courteous and attentive; we will definitely be back

   The food was delicious and really good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was great until we got our food. I would have liked to have been offered the menu, after our main courses, just to see if we would have liked dessert or a coffee to finish our meal. However we really enjoyed our meal and we will be back.

   Such a lovely place to eat, family & child friendly, lovely staff and such reasonable prices which is hard to find these days. Definitely somewhere I will be visiting regularly.

   Service was slow - only 2 people making drinks and it was breakfast/lunch time on a weekend. The tasks seemed separated - the person bringing drinks didn’t know anything about the ordering process so we had to wait for someone to come over and take our order. Food was good except toast was placed under the food so was super soggy! Didn’t bother to say anything as I felt the staff wouldn’t have cared. Also, one of our party is allergic to butter and it was made clear at the time of ordering but the toast still came buttered and it took quite a while for the replacement dish to come out- so much so that the rest of us had nearly finished ours by the time it arrived.

   Came to the Lamp Room a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing meal. Menu was different to other places and made a nice change so thought we’d come back to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Booked a table which wasn’t ready when we arrived (seemed like we were being an inconvenience asking for it), menu has changed and was not what we were looking for (wanted more than a burger). Still displaying the old menu which we were told wasn’t available. Staff weren’t as welcoming as in previous visits, we won’t be back and won’t be recommending it for more than a coffee!!!! Really disappointed

   Absolutely outstanding roast…. Be at I’ve ever had out and I’m difficult to please. Will definitely be returning.

   The venue is an interesting space. It appears larger than the number of people that can be seated. As we’ve visited on the Sunday before Xmas, it was relatively quiet, not all tables taken at 2pm but the venue may have wisely staggered their sittings. The Sunday roast is good and well priced with the only downside being gravy and big dollops of ‘horseradish’ sauce already on the plate without being asked. The service needs attention- there seemed no sequence of who was being served or with what. There wasn’t much Xmas spirit.

    Service was absolutely shocking had to ask 3 times to be served drinks and food explained we was happy waiting 40 minutes for someone to take our order and the waitress then snatched the menu out of my hand to which we asked to speak to a manger but they didn’t have a manager just a supervisor who come over and was also very rude to us tried telling us we made the young waitress cry even tho we was polite to her when she was taking our order and she still snatched the menu. The supervisor asked us to finish our drinks and then leave so we didn’t actually get to eat. My partner then went and apologised for making the young waitress cry but she still carried on being very rube and the supervisor hid herself in the kitchen. There was about 5 tables there so wasn’t very busy either. They was very quick to bring our bill for the drinks of course. Safe to say we won’t be returning! It was decorated lovely inside.
