What Insiders Are Saying
It’s rare that we back this type of restaurant, but The Lambs Club is Infatuation approved for Pre-Theater Eats and Corporate Card use in Midtown.
GZ was there and was very gracious ! A perfect place for a business lunch !
The food was OK but portions tended to be small, and bases on restaurants of similar price point, it just wasn't that good.
It was fine, it wasnt bad - but in terms of value for the prices, you need to be better than fine.
Our birthday celebration dinner was beyond our expectations. The space is posh and quite comfortable. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings. The meal included a uniquely prepared and utterly amazing mushroom soup. The flavorful house made bucatini pasta with shaved black truffles was so beautifully prepared and presented it blew us away. A scrumptious cheese course was served with a sherry so over-the-top. A tiny sip - perhaps an eighth of a teaspoon - filled our mouths and our minds with awe! I could go on and on, but let it be sufficient to say that the staff went above and beyond all of our expectations to provide the kind of hospitality that made for a great evening. Everyone seemed inspired by our enthusiasm and it was a memorable experience - beyond just a great meal - a truly great experience.
Excellent from start to finish. Brian out waiter was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the Amish Chicken Omg It was to die for. For dessert I had the sticky Toffee Pudding. A classic British dessert.I thought it was better than the Sticky Toffee Pudding that I had in London. We Will be Back.
Birthday dinner before a broadway show. Excellent all around - got a cozy table next to the fireplace. Prices are almost insulting but food was great.
The food was excellent. The service was so slow it made me think that the restaurant should be renamed The Snails Club. Perhaps it was just a busy night.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I enjoyed it.
This review is for brunch. The menu is almost exclusively eggs (omelettes, egg sandwiches, other items with eggs on top) which was a little surprising for a place that charges $20 average per plate. Still the dishes we had were all very nicely prepared and presented. Our biggest problem was that the hostess had confirmed over the phone that they could honor our request for a quiet table. One of my guests is hard of hearing and he finds a lot of background noise unpleasant. Instead there was a LIVE JAZZ BAND and we ended up having to eat in the lobby so we could visit. I'm therefore giving 2 stars for atmosphere. (Servers was very gracious, so I don't want to lower their score.) I'm sure the music was enjoyable if that's what you are looking for, but it makes conversation IMPOSSIBLE.
First Visit very pleased
Wonderful experience. Had the Restaurant Week menu. Food was great, service outstanding. Music in the jazz bar was excellent. Loved it all. Had hoped to see GZ but that didn’t happen. Next time maybe.
Service was wonderful. Felt very European in that we were Certainly not rushed. Food was top notch. Drinks were wonderful.
Excellent on every level...food ...service...ambiance ...a 10! But very pricey so must reserve only for a very special treat! Or an expense account!
Very cold, windy night and the doors to the restaurant from the hotel lobby were open, allowing a cold breeze to flow chilling guests and food. With that singular exception, the experience was outstanding.
We are there Thursday before a show and the food was spectacular. The service was just the right amount of great service and balancing giving us privacy. The waiter recommended a spectacular bottle of mid range champagne even though we gave them a bigger rant and the bottle now might be a new favorite of mine! We had theater tickets and they were very good about getting us out on time. I highly recommend the Tuna appetizer it’s a cant miss along with the duck!
One of the most amazing meals we ever had!!! Outstanding service!!!
Fantastic food and drinks, efficient and friendly service, and oh that glorious fireplace during a polar vortex driven deep freeze. I will be back!
We stopped in for a Tuesday night pre-theater 5:15pm dinner. Our first visit. The dining room was beautiful - elegant, warm, sophisticated, and open. The service was excellent. We were going to order from the regular menu but it turned out that what we wanted the most was on the Prix Fixe menu so we ordered from that one. Everything we tasted was perfectly delicious- Pekin Duck, Wild Striped Bass, Chocolate & Pecan Mousse, and the complimentary bread. The waiter was gracious and patient as I tried several wines before settling on one. The only disappointment on that cold and very rainy day was that there was no fire blazing in the magnificent fireplace- that would have made it magical.
Very unique and special environment; food was amazing and so fresh. Service was excellent and we easily made our timing for theater without feeling rushed.
The service was very slow and inattentive. We had a show to attend and we chose the special menu that was catered to attend a show. We made sure to ask / remind our server at the time of our order. There seemed to be a lack of attention. Our water glasses and my wine were empty for a while. We had to flag down an additional server to help. The food came so slow we had to leave when they finally brought out the desert.
They did offer for us to come back after the show to have our desert which was nice but by that time the experience was ruined.
Really disappointed because we are big fans of Jeffery Z and had high expectations.
Went to dinner in between parts 1 and 2 of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Arrived promptly at 4:50pm for our 5pm reservation. They opened the restaurant for dinner service a few minutes early so we barely waited. They have drink carts to prepare cocktails tableside. We split two apps, 1 entree, 1 side, and 1 dessert - we were full! Apps - 1/2 dozen wellfleet oysters (so plump!), and tuna l’occidental. Both were the perfect light appetizers we were hoping for. Then we shared the bavette steak with acorn squash. The steak was perfect medium rare and was tender. The acorn squash was a little on the sweeter side for me, but had a little tang to balance it out. The huckleberry and buttermilk pie was exactly what I wanted - not too sweet buttermilk custard and the sweetness from the berries shining through. I would absolutely go back again, maybe during lunch for their pastrami sandwich!
The ambiance of the Lambs Club is wonderful. It makes for a great date spot. The food is incredible and the cocktails are great. I had the Guillermo Wallace. We had oysters and steak tartare to start. I had the duck leg confit and my husband had the lobster. We took the servers recommendation for dessert. Everything was truly incredible and a stand out meal.
Great place for theater goers! Service is knowledgeable and quick! We allowed more than enough time but the server was very attuned to our time constraints - also was helpful with portion sizes and sharing salads, desserts, etc. Adequate wine list. Dover sole was great but not perfect for the price. A little overdone but fresh and very flavorful. Our salads were well dressed and tasty. Theater restaurants have a tendency to rush their clients....we were not rushed at all and we were able to linger over our coffees.
Great service!
Staff was very professional and pleasant and the food was exceptional. The bread was flavorful and melted in my mouth and the duck breast was the best I’ve ever had. We’ll surely go back.
Whether before theater or after, it’s our “go-to” place
Outstanding service and food. We will definitely make return trips when in New York.
The location was perfect for attending a show. The ambiance of the restaurant and also the staff were excellent. The best I can say about the food is that it was mediocre. There were issues in the ladies room. If it was one problem it definitely was a fluke. However, one of the stalls had a broken door handle so there was a repair man. In the ladies room! This was right after opening for the evening, so that was weird. The toilet I used had a broken flusher. It was possible to make it work. Not acceptable at such an expensive restaurant. Our dinner consisted of one soup, two entrees and two desserts it was $150! I ordered the minestrone which was super salty. Second I had the Amish Chicken. The chicken was incredibly tender. However, the sauce was not great and also incredibly salty.
I've enjoyed the Lamb's Club two or three times before. This experience was as excellent as always. The ambiance is fantastic...feels very Mad Men as others have commented. The fireplace that was going was a plus. Service was professional and never missing for long. The food was outstanding. Had the duck breast, which is by far one of the best I've ever enjoyed. Cocktail was potent and well made. A minor quibble is with the dessert I tried, Milk and Honey. It tasted good, but the visual was of random ingredients thrown together on a plate. Taste-wise and portion-wise it was great, just lacking in presentation. Love this place and will be back!
It was great and I would have given it a 5 star but they lost my friend's cashmere scarf at coat check. Embarrassing since they ended up treating us to dinner. But we would still go back, just wouldn't use coat check.
We had a wonderful Sunday brunch before seeing a show. The service was great and kept us on time. We all enjoyed our food very much. And the bloody Marys were amazing - added nice touch the ice cubes were also made of the drink so it didn't dilute! There was live music in the background - which was at just the right sound level. Would love to do it all again!
The Lambs Club is in a beautiful space perfect for a pre theater meal for lunch or dinner. The food is very good and safe. This is also a good spot for post work cocktails.
Never disappoints. Good food great service and pre theatre dinner timing
We had just a fantastic dinner at the lambs club prior to going to the theater. We had the three course dinner value which was outstanding. I loved everything I had but especially the tuna appetizer.
Ambiance was wonderful, fireplace was great. I had asked if I would buy the bread and they gave me a small loaf to take home! Also had mentioned in the reservation that we were there for a birthday dinner and they brought over a complimentary dessert. Out standing service by all. Loved it.
This was our second visit to the Lamb’s Club. Both have been pre-theater, and they are good about timing. The first was dinner; this was brunch. It’s a cozy, inviting space with very manageable noise levels, which is important to us. They had unobtrusive live jazz for brunch, which was lovely. The service is excellent, and the food is very good. It’s a bit pricey, but you’re paying for the combination of the convenience of the location to most Broadway theaters and the very nice ambience.
Cold French fries. Extremely slow and inattentive service. Very high prices that neither food nor service remotely warranted
Loved it! Impeccable service and divine food... thank you!
In from Texas for Birthday. I had lobster and it was cooked to perfection as was husband ‘s steak . Much better than another well respected place we went to . Would go back !!
Chad was wonderful. Food was spectacular.
Outstanding dining experience.
From cocktails to dessert they hit every mark...
The Steak Tartar was a new twist on a personal favorite and did not disappoint . All in a beautifully appointed room.
Possibly the best restaurant in the theater district !
Love Lambs club
