What Insiders Are Saying
It’s rare that we back this type of restaurant, but The Lambs Club is Infatuation approved for Pre-Theater Eats and Corporate Card use in Midtown.
Pre theatre, great spot!
It would be nice to see a few more menu options but delicious overall. And service very attentive which is so important when trying to make your curtain on time.
Here's my thoughts...for a restaurant that is promoting "farm to table" I would think the ingredients would be more locally sourced and I don't feel that was the case. I also feel if you are going to charge the prices you are charging, the service, ambiance, everything should be top-notch. We order one bottle of wine from the menu, which they didn't have. We ordered Grappa off the dessert menu - and they didn't have it. One food running was so energetic that my wife's hair was blown back every time he went past. Glad we went once, but don't think I need to go back..
Very disappointed!! Not another person in the place on a Saturday night. That was our first clue. The food was terrible. I had the special, pork belly and I could not even eat parts of it it was so over cooked. My wife's was a joke a pasta with short rib meat. It was extremely small pasta and we searched for the meat and there was none to be found. There was a lot of dust all around our booth. The bathrooms were a complete nasty mess which was odd since there was no one else in the restaurant. So that must mean it hadn't been cleaned from the day before or the people who work there don't care. Overall terrible, for an Iron Chef restaurant we expected a special night with great food. Never again!!
Excellent martinis! Food was very good. Oysters were outstanding too.
Food was very bland and not well prepared. We had paper in our bread and crab shells in our salads and soup. Restroom was dirty and the overall value was abysmal. Worst $500 I have ever spent at a restaurant.
Food was very good. Nice selection. Ample portions. Service was amazing. Room beautiful and warmly inviting.
I so loved the old world nightclub setting and the live music. The whole ambiance was enjoyable.
The food was very good but definitely on the expensive side.
We just had their Saturday jazz brunch and it was fantastic. The band was terrific and the lobster bloody marys were extra tasty. Highly recommended.
Excellent service... Chef Z made our visit “tops”...Food was great...waiters ere very attentive to our needs.
Yummy food. Great wait staff.
We were in the dining room for dinner.
There was some issue with our meals, but Jasmine the manager came over immediately, and corrected the issue.
We couldn’t be happier with the outcome, and her amazing customer service towards us.
The food was outstanding.
Thank you Jasmine!
We have been to other restaurants by Mr. Zakarian which we have loved. This restaurant was quite nice, however my Amish chicken was a bit dry. I would highly recommend the fish dishes, as my overall impression of his pairings are that he does the most amazing job with fish and shellfish. Would go again if I was nearby for a Broadway show.
The Lambs Club was recommended to me by a wine importer friend that is in NY frequently. It was an excellent suggestion. The food is well prepared and very flavorful and the service impeccable. One friend and I ordered from the Pre-theater menu which was three courses with three wonderful selections each. One friend had salmon and the other quail. They loved their dinners. I ordered duck and although it was delicious I would not order it again. It was two thick slices and about twice as much as I could eat. The bread was out of this world, and the appetizers and desert delicious. We will definitely eat here on our next trip to NY but will probably not the night we go to the theater. We would rather take our time and enjoy the dinner and atmosphere rather than rush off to the theater.
Had a great experience with the team at The Lambs Club this week with my 6 year old daughter pre-Frozen. Especially friendly and fast service.
In my estimation, this is one of the best dining experiences in New York City. Usually, when the food and service is this good, there is "attitude" involved, but not at The Lambs Club. You are greeted and treated in a friendly manner no matter who you are. This is a great place to eat before the theater, they'll make sure you get to your show on time. The food is exceptional. I had the best halibut I've ever had in my life at The Lamb's Club.
I have to say it’s a gem in the middle of Times Square. I loved everything about it from the moment I walked in To the end of my meal . Restaurant located in the beautiful historical building number one . Number two ambiance is very pleasant as well as very attentive and well trained staff Food was amazing . I had a Waldorf salad with poached trout . Amish Chicken with mushrooms Wine list is very nice . Black currant sorbet was a perfect finish to a meal not too sweet and gave a very refreshing taste to my palate .
Absolutely will be back .
Nice decor, small dinning room, easy to speak to one another during a lunch meeting. Staff was great, food portions for light eaters..
Easter brunch was wonderful. The buffet was great. The music was lovely and not loud— so just right. The special holiday touches were great, too.
This restaurant is in a lovely setting with two celebrity chefs as a draw. However, ambiance aside, the food was very average and the service was fair. Although the wait staff was pleasant, it took a very long time to get our drink orders, the wine list was overpriced, and although at $60 the three course meal was a good value by New York standards, the portions were too large and the food very average. If this was a mere restaurant, I might not be so harsh, but you expect more when the chef is well known and I was disappointed in the product. With thousands of other restaurants in the city, I would not recommend this one to others.
From the greeting by the hostess to the farewell by the wait staff, every aspect of the experience was first rate. It was the best restaurant experience we’ve had in a long time. We will definitely return and with friends.
Very good food and drinks -inventive and creative
Staff professional yet engaging and friendly
Have been several times and consistently exceptional
Desserts are a must
First time at this restaurant in 2 years. Prior visits the food was excellent. Unfortunately, something has changed dramatically in past 2 years. This visit the food was horrible.
I had the artichoke soup and stripped bass. My soup had good flavor, but was barely luke warm. My fish was very overcooked and so dry I had to sip water with each bite to swallow it. In addition, it had a large bloodline running through it so the taste was very unpleasant. The carrots on my plate were all cooked very unevenly; some almost raw and others like mush. My husband's meal wasn't much better. He got the tuna appetizer and the pasta dish. His tuna was cooked all the way through versus seared and his pasta dish was completely without any flavor at all.
Very disappointing that we spent nearly $250 on such a subpar meal when there are so many excellent restaurants in the city where we could have dined.
The only bright spot was our waiter was very nice. We didn't complain to him because it was clear that it wasn't just an issue with our food, but an overall decline in the restaurant.
When I'd eaten here (6 different times previously), it was hard to get reservations and the restaurant was packed. On this visit, we were one of only 4 tables taken in the restaurant. No surprise given the quality and poor taste of the food.
I won't eat here again.
Service was not great. Food just ok. Very loud - couldn’t hear the entertainment
Great Sunday Jazz Brunch.
Wonderful brunch- food and service were wonderful! While music is lovely, volume is far too loud to have any conversation at all. Either lower volume, move musicians to outer room or play lighter music...too much for such a small dining area.
The food was fine but way over priced
Liked the music and ambiance of the restaurant. Service was much better than my first experience.
Delightful atmosphere and service was efficient and understated. Meals were enjoyed by all.
We went here before dinner and although the reservation was for 5 and we were seated at 5:15, the rest of our experience was spectacular. Amazing food, served in style and in a lovely setting. Even popcorn as we left as a parting gift. Nice touch.
When I visit NYC, especially if I am gong to the theater, I try to eat at the Lambs Club. The last time we arrived early. We were given the option of eating breakfast or waiting for our 11:30 reservation for lunch, we decided to wait and were offered coffee while we waited in the hotel lobby. Everyone who works for the restaurant was warm, gracious and helpful. Our service was excellent as was each of our lunch choices. Of course one of the reasons I enjoy the restaurant is that I am gluten free and love your delicious Gluten Free rolls! Shortly after we were seated, my specially prepared GF rolls. My friends yanked me for introducing them to your restaurant and look forward to eating there again.
Fantastic as always. Ate at the restaurant post theater and its always a pleasure. If you are looking for something in the times square area that isn't a tourist trap, this is the place for you. Comfortable setting, excellent service, and very accommodating with my nut allergies.
The bibb salad with shallot and horseradish was very mild and a great way to start the meal. Its unusual for me to order chicken at a restaurant but soooo glad I did. Best chicken ever with mushroom duxelle. The steak with bone marrow was also fantastic. To end the night the champagne sorbet was the perfect amount, refreshing and a great palatte clense.
Great experience. We went before the show and it helped make the day even more special.
The pre fixe menu had great choices. My husband and I both ordered the Tuna L' Occidental as the appetizer, then we both had the duck breast with shaved brussel sprouts and farro. On to dessert, my husband had the lemon tart which had a shortbread cookie as the crust and I enjoyed the raspberry lychee sorbet. Everything was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed a nice bottle of Lo Sfuso de Collina bottle of red from Italy. Moderately priced. We were seated by the large warm fireplace. It was a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband.
What a lovely pre-that are dinner spot. The site had an interesting history and the hostess graciously told us about it and then gave us a printout of its history, too. The food was outstanding and the service terrific.
The food and service were great, the Bloody Mary had Bloody Mary mix ice cubes.. very cool
The food was good but way overpriced.
