Online reservations at The Lakehouse at Geist can only be made directly on their website.
Management seems to be an issue. It could be such a great place with the location, but it falls short of just being average due to poor food and multiple things needing to be updated. Unfortunately, they will still make their money from all the boat traffic and not change a thing.
We were seated upon arrival; the receptionist was very friendly. We were originally seated outside but the wind off the reservoir was a little too brisk. The wait staff was very nice and had no problems seating us inside. We were waited on very quickly by Dawn who greeted us with a smile and let us take our time in ordering. Our meal arrived in reasonable time and the salmon and mahi mahi was very good. I felt the price was reasonable for the meal we were serviced.
Dawn was very busy with a large group that came in however she make sure our meal was satisfactory and that we were taken care of. We went to the bar after dinner and were service very quickly and by a very friendly waiter. We watched the basketball games and listened to the band for a short time.
All in all we enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going back when the weather is warmer and we can sit outside.

My wife and I went to the new Lakehouse Geist . We were very impressed with the new theme and how much cleaner everything is. The menu change away from the Italian theme was long overdue and we both loved the new menu. The service was much improved and our entrées were incredible. We were told there is a new general manager named Rachel and she has done an incredible job in a short about of time. We are looking forward to the next round of changes to the outside.
This was our second time trying the new Lakehouse. Ordered a frozen drink from bar. The one blender in the whole place was broken so not available. Food was mediocore. Not horrible, not great. Just sad this location is excellent, but can't get management in here to supply excellent food and the ambiance together. It is convenient for us but nothing to write home about.
Food was good and service was good. Tried the pork tacos this time. They were exceptional.
The food is no better than it was at Bella Vitas. I believe it might be the same owners? So they didn't switch up the menu much, just the name. The seafood dishes are way overpriced. The pasta is always just so so. We go here occasionally because we like the view of the lake, and so I was excited to see it was a new restaurant. But don't be fooled. If you didn't care for Bella Vita's food, you probably won't care for this food.
The restaurant is nice, food was average. I put in a special request for seating and Birthday which was not acknowledged. The server seemed very rushed. We had to flag him down for silverware and to order dessert.
We made reservations for 6:15 on Valentine's Tuesday. We arrived at 6:00 and were seated immediately, which was great! The appetizer was prompt and wonderful! Thus the two stars. Three stars were forfeited when we sat for almost an hour-and-a-half without an entree, watching people around us arrive, receive their appetizers, then their meals, and finish everything while we just sat there. The waitress told us at least three times that the meal was only a few minutes away At one point she said that a medium-well steak "takes a minute", as if it was our fault for ordering the wrong thing. When she returned to the table again, we told her, "you have two minutes and then we're walking out." She said the kitchen had assured her the meal (a medium-well ribeye and a rack of lamb) were "three minutes away". We said, "you have two minutes." I have never walked out of a restaurant before, but when two more minutes elapsed, we walked out of this one.
What's worse is that we ordered a special package, the Valentine's Day Dinner. We were willing to pay a bit of a premium for a special experience. So it appears there's a problem not only in the kitchen, but with management as well, for marketing a special package but not prioritizing customers who chose it.
Don't put something on the menu that you can't cook in a timely manner. Or, if mistakes were made, be honest about it. Tell me you screwed up my steak and have to cook another one; I'll wait. But don't keep telling me it's on the way when it's not. We will not be back.
