Beautiful interior, cozy atmosphere. Food was delicious and server was outstanding. We had nixtamalized squash for starter and it was perfect. Mains were Alaskan black cod and mushroom and rye spaetzle with game sausage. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious - especially tasty was the sausage. We shared brownie with hazelnut ice cream (my favorite and not common in the US) for dessert. We will certainly dine here again and will recommend to friends and family!

We went at night so the views were limited, but we really enjoy the canyon. The lodge is great. The ambience is what you hope for in a lodge eating experience. We had very knowledgeable and helpful service. The food was unique and fantastic. Rustic, tasty, nice unique additions to classic comfort food. Don't miss out on dessert.

I should start by saying we went on a Saturday for lunch after reading an article about the chef. I should have looked more closely because it was brunch. We are not crazy about brunch so we were a little disappointed. The menu for dinner is much more interesting in my opinion. So, we ordered oysters and they were out. We asked about something else on the menu and the server said she does not work brunch so did not know.Ok. We ordered the flank steak with tortillas, bean, and I eggs. It was somewhat bland, nothing really interesting here. The bloody mary was good! The ambience would have been nice had it been warm enough to sit outside. Otherwise, we felt the ambience was a bit sterile for our tastes so I think we might pass on a future visit.

Went for brunch.
Beautiful location and great view/ambiance in the bar upstairs.
Cocktails were yummy, service was great.
In my opinion the food did not live up to the hype.

4th time here and we so appreciate the consistency. Each app and entree were a hit. Loved the oysters, the taquitos, the cornbread and the rabbit lasagna were our favorites this time. Joey makes fantastic drinks and makes us feel very welcome. We will be back!

The Ossobuco and scallops were absolutely delicious! Disappointed with the apple pie. Crust was VERY thick, like thin cardboard. Ambiance - great!

Too pricey for the local market. If you want to attract more locals, lower your prices, or better yet so you still grab the big bucks from the Wasatch Fronter/vacationer/or traveler who will pay more....... create an ongoing marketing campaign to locals in Heber Valley offering them a 15-20% discount, depending on the day and time they come to use it, requiring some sort of verification of local residency. Already recommended The Lakehouse on Facebook to all friends.

Service was inattentive and uninformed. Ordered a particular hard cider and it was a long 20 minutes to find out they were out of it. Ordered oysters…nope, out of them. Wanted osso buco…nope, out of it. Server, “not sure if we have desserts…”.
Ordered the nixtamalized squash appetizer mainly because I was curious about “nixtamalized”. Server said it was a cooking technique but could not elaborate. Could have been steamed or roasted wedges of Delicata type squash but the texture was hard and grainy. Yuk, and $18 to boot!!! (The pesto sauce on the squash was delicious)

We sat upstairs in the bar area and I was a bit uncomfortable that there was no social distancing between tables. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I will give this restaurant a second chance at $250+ dinner for 3.

Food looked amazing but the taste was average, sadly not worth the cost. Ambience was amazing. Customer service wasn't the best with our waiter but everyone else was tip top. Our waiter treated us like we were dumb Because we didn't know osso bucco was. But it's ok. In our group we got the elk osso bucco and the steak and fries (that was mine) and burger and scallops. After trying everyone's the scallops were best. The steak and fries at market price were disappointing; steak came out cold with chamomile butter. Butter was hard and didn't melt obviously. I don't mind dropping a couple hundred on food when it's tasty but when it's subpar.... It's not worth it. The squash looked amazing but was rock hard. Obviously not cooked correctly, should've been tender, but was rock hard.

Some places try to be trendy and high end and fall short, yet charge crazy prices. This place delivers.
The food is quality. It is quantity. It is full of flavor. It is unique and quirky. And yet the prices are reasonable. Beyond impressed!!!

Innovative and diverse menu. Execution was good, not great. Couple of things - the squash + the chicken could have been cooked better. Slightly undercooked then slightly overcooked. But the flavors were fantastic.

Service was solid if not a tad bit rushed, but rather that than the opposite.

Will definitely be back. Worth the drive from Park City.

It has been a very long time that we have had a meal in either wasatch or summit county where everything from the creativity and quality of the menu and food as well as the service and ambience were all worth the cost. This is an expensive dinner but we’ll worth it. Please don’t go here expecting a Heber cheap burger and then complain about the cost! Plan a visit where you can enjoy great food with beautiful views and top notch service. Thank you for a lovely evening. We look forward to our next visit.

This was a great restaurant overlooking the lake. The food is not your run of the mill food which is what made this a fantastic experience. We had dinner with one other couple and we each ordered a different plate so that we could share all four meals which was an excellent way to experience this restaurant. The drinks were fabulous as well. We will definitely be back soon!

Our experience at The lakehouse Deer Creek was more than expectations could have exceeded. All staff and Management was so kind and Hospitable throughout our whole experience starting at reserving the space all the way to the end of our meal. I had a very unusual request on very short notice, JD and Joe were so accommodating and understanding and made my wedding day 100% despite the last minute planning. I will for sure recommend the Lakehouse at Deer Creek for all of my companies future events and gatherings. I will also personally be back and recommend to anyone in the area. We travel throughout the states and world often, this is up there at with some of the most delicious and well thought out guest experience I've seen. Thank you so much to the staff and management to a day I will never forget.

The scenery and experience provided by the layout and energy at the restaurant is so hard to find in more confined areas like Utah. The food is top notch and the staff is amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is perfect for any occasion and the scenery is beautiful. I will definitely be back!

So much potential. We Will go back. Food: Tenderloin was very good. Only 1 carrot though with the rest all weirdly tough beets(?) - not the smoked asparagus listed on the menu. Parsnip purée was ok. Black Cod entree was browned a little too much (tough) but had exceptional flavor (Maillard). It was too rare for some parts - kinda uneven. The rest of the dish - wild rice, crisp kale very flavorful. Large wedding party there so some chaos. Service: Brett(?) seemed/was new and we had to ask what the Soup was, and if there were any Special(s). Brett also had to get someone else to open our 2 bottles of wine. He’s old enough, but most likely not certified for the State. Timing with 2 appetizers, and Entree’s was bad. Barely started enjoying the tasty apple butter cornbread / farmstead salad appetizers… and Entree’s showed up. Oh, and $20 a piece for corkage. Our opinion: charge for 1 bottle to pay the bartender, bring out/(wash) 2 glasses (and an ice bucket) and make some $ for the restaurant. We refilled our own wine glasses. No towel to dry off the white in ice bucket. Ambience: Asked Brett to light the fire. He had to get DJ (Great Manager!) who told us he would check with the kitchen to see if there was enough propane(??). Fire never lit. Maybe it’s shared off 1 propane tank(?) View exceptional for most tables. We sat close to the upstairs bar and were able to watch football. Bonus for us. Value: It’s a beautiful place, with a great chef - plan on spending some money. Conclusion: 28th Anniversary. Trial pretty good overall. Bonuses: Dillon as Host - Exceptional!! Parking is a challenge. Driving around a 2nd time, and Dillon came out and found us a “No Parking” place to park. He also found a great table for us. Evidently trailered boats took restaurant parking, and were ticketed per DJ. DJ really maintains order to some chaos with all that’s going on in this spot. Bartender (name?) was also very good. Besides some issues, we Will be going back. Thanks!

I'm very disappointed in what I hoped would be a wonderful dinning experience.
The food was cold! Both the entree and the main course.

Since we were the first diners in the restaurant I for the life of me can't figure out why the food would be cold.

The pricing didn't match the experience. No music, we were cold and never took our coats off. We were seated at a table without any view of the lake.

It was so quiet in the restaurant, we couldn't have a conversation without the other guests hearing everything we were saying. Uncomfortable once again.

We spent a lot of money, didn't have dessert because, by then I was ready to leave.

We won't be back and we will definitely not recommend The Lakehouse to our friends.

We went here for our anniversary because the food looked good in the pictures. Maybe we ordered the wrong items, but we did decide to order what our server recommended. The appetizers were decent but nothing to write home about. Our entrees were awful. Lots of grease and flavors that just didn’t go together well. And the bill was as high as a much better - Michelin Star - restaurant. Definitely a disappointment for our first anniversary. Will not be returning.

The lobster was perhaps the worst I have ever had. Drowning in sauce to where you couldn’t even taste what should be the star of the show. Mushy, maybe under cooked and for the price just inexcusable. Nice setting except for the traffic noise.
