The Lakefront Restaurant
Always an excellent experience! We highly recommend.
Beautiful views, lovely atmosphere, delicious open faced omelet and delicious gin smash cocktail in a beautiful glass. Those potatoes on the side too! So good. And honey butter! Delicious on my toast. Brunch was a hit. The only reason I knocked one star off was my friend's squash quiche wasn't very hot, but she said it was still good. I'd definitely come back again.
Wonderful views, great service, tasty brunch menu. My only surprise was the valet parking charge of $17, should be $5 to $10 for a location like this.
The food was great and the location is awesome. It’s industrial chic. Our server was so nice and the drinks were amazing!
Excellent service, great atmosphere, wonderful view of the lake.
Great food, service and cocktails.
The food is fantastic, the service was excellent and the ambiance was wonderful. We had a window table and being able to view the lake, the joggers and the hustle bustle of the people out and about was really fun. BUT, the fact that they charge $17 for valet parking is outrageous! Because of their location you have to valet. When I first went there parking at lunch was free, then $7, then $10 and now $17. Stefani Prime valet is free, McCormick and Schmick valet is free and that is for both lunch and dinner.
This is our favorite place to go for brunch! We love taking our friends to check it out.
The environment is splendid with great seating and views. The service was adequate as was the food.
One of my favorite spots fro lunch and they have the best Bloody Mary!
Beautiful setting but food was mediocre. And wine selection sparse.
Server was indifferent after we didn’t order drinks. When I told her this was our first time at the restaurant after 2 previous tries, she said schedule is posted online. When I said, this week’s schedule had not not been updated, she just shrugged.
Busser cleaned table while I was still siting there waiting for friends to return from rest rooms.
That’s a first. Ugh!
Great location, great building, great service!
Girls’ Sunday brunch - Wonderful time, wonderful view, great service. Open face omelet was delicious!
This was our second visit to the restaurant in the last couple of months and our experience was kind of uneven. The service was very professional and efficient. The appetizers were spot on but the entrees were mediocre. The meal ended on a high note with great desserts. Even if the food is uneven, the view of the skyline is spectacular!
the wait staff and hostess were very friendly and helpful. however the service, and particularly the bar service was way too slow. even when the restaurant was not full, it took forever to get drinks. I would recommend this only with a caveat that they don't seem to have their act together yet. I had dinner here when it first opened at the end of 2017 and it doesn't seem like they've made much progress in the way of timely service since then.
Food was good, but it took too long for the meals to arrive. When they finally did, 2 of the 5 meals were mistakenly brought out to the wrong table so we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for replacement meals to be cooked and brought out.
The food was tasty but the service was underwhelming - our water was empty for a while. That said, I would come back again, as you cannot beat the location!
The food was mediocre, but the setting is lovely and the service was good and everyone was very welcoming. Might be better for drinks and snacks than a meal.
Waiter wasn’t the most outgoing. Food was good. View was incredible. No specials
I brought a large group of out of town guests. Reservations were set in advance. The service was slow and our dinner took longer than typical. We arrived at 6pm, left at 8:30pm and spent most of our time waiting.
I've been to The Lakefront Restaurant 3 times. The location is outstanding -- it's the only lakefront restaurant in Chicago which makes it a great place to be on a beautiful day. The views of the city are awesome. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food, on the other hand, can range from good to forgettable to not great. It's a shame because this place has a lot of potential.
The most perfect setting on the lake and the renovation was beautiful! We kept trying to think who could get married and have their wedding there
The rosemary potato salad I got as my side dish was mostly undercooked potatoes, i.e., raw and crunchy, which was not enjoyable to eat, nor the way potato salad is supposed to be.
Seafood was either under-cooked or over-cooked. Very unpleasant dining experience in terms of actual dining options.
Great atmosphere and food. Seasonal cocktails were fabulous.
We have such a beautiful lakefront in Chicago, but there are few locations where you can experience quality dining close to the shoreline and look out over the water and the skyline. Lakefront Restaurant is one of them, and dining there is a real treat. The food is well prepared, with quality ingredients, and not overpriced considering the location. There is welcoming bar in the center, four sides, and the high, peaked ceiling absorbs noise and the decorative lights are just right. We have dined there three times and definitely will return.
Other than a limited menu with no entre, it was excellent
Celebrated my girlfriend's bday here and we both had a great experience! Love the atmosphere.
The view is gorgeous. There food was delicious. The services was excellent. They are opened year round. I cannot wait to stop in on a winter day when it's snowing!
Beautiful location to dine unfortunately food and service doesn't elevate to the setting.
We went for brunch on a Sunday. Not very crowded, we sat outside as the weather was really nice. The views and the food are great! The service, while friendly, was incredibly slow. We had the brunch burger and biscuits and gravy. Both dishes were fantastic! We would go back again, I just hope the service improves.
The Lakefront Restaurant is a place we love to take our friends. Great food, great service, great view! Unlike anywhere else in the city. Highly recommend. Thanks for always leaving us wanting to come back.
A new chef should be hired.view is great, qu of food poor.
Beautiful location with sweeping views of the city. We are regular visitors, this is extra convenient for us because we have always come to the theater next door. We recommend this restaurant to friends and bring out of town guests since it's a prime location. Food is solid, service is fast and friendly.....highly recommend.
Yummy veggie burger and spectacular potato salad! And servers with a sense of humor. I’ll be back!
Beautiful setting, nice menu (interesting sides for sandwiches!), good service.
The butter and bacon were extremely salty. My eggs were served cold
Our server kept sniffing as if he had a runny nose the entire time he was serving us, which is rather disgusting when one is eating. The tea was served in a brown mug. Tea needs to be served in clear glass or a white cup so the color is visible. It is similar to wine - one has to see the color. The same thing with the food. My braised beef brisket hash was served in a dark brown bowl - I could not see the food because it was too dark. Food is enjoyed not only for its taste, but also its fragrance and what it looks like.
I dined twice at the Lakefront for brunch. This a great location to enjoy a relaxing meal with a great view of the lake. We sat at the bar. The cocktails made by AJ were excellent. If you enjoy mescal I would suggest their specialty cocktail on the rocks. The wait for the brunch food was too long on each visit. The breakfast burrito was excellent. Next time I would ask for hot sauce. Unfortunately there is not an option to add chorizo to add more flavor. The salmon bagel was very good but the cucumbers didn’t look so fresh. The brunch toast was the weakest dish as the toast was too hard and the toast was difficult to cut with the standard knife.
