We had brunch at the Lakefront restaurant on a Sunday. It was easy to get a reservation. We found free parking a cou-le of blocks away. We were given a nice table with a great view. Everyone’s food was excellent. A very nice, no hassle experience for Sunday brunch in Lincoln Park.
It's a good restaurant with stupendous ambience. I know of none better on the shore of Lake Michigan. Good food, good price, generous servings, friendly service though a bit slow (which seemed odd since the two of us were half the diners in the diners in the entire place). Views of city and lake were flat-out inspiring, which could forgive just about anything that might conceivably go wrong. I even like the remoteness though it could be an obstacle for others. I only wish the patio was dog friendly, but the whole restaurant is adamantly and palpably hostile to canines. That's its dark side.
We were received very warmly. Waiter was very nice, took care of us. We will be visiting again & we surely will recommend this place to our friends & family.
The view is great. The menu is very limited. How about a plain salad? Would love to go back but the menu items to limited.
The setting is very nice, beautiful views of the lake and skyline. Valet parking was very convenient. The service at the restaurant was incredibly slow. Our lunch took two hours, most of that time was spent waiting for service. We were seated 15 min late, server didn’t come to the table for another 10 min, wait for food was even longer. Thankfully we had the time and were in good company, otherwise would have been a problem had we had somewhere else we needed to be. Tables around us were sat long after us and completed meals before us. We complained to the manager but it didn’t do any good. We were really disappointed by the service. I won’t dine here again and would not recommend it.
Great room with amazing view of the lake.. Came for lunch. Attentive service and excellent cocktails and food. Reasonably priced for a spot with a view on rhe water. Will go again!
Waitress totally neglected us all lunch. Took our order and never came to our table again. I had to go to the host stand to get our bill and pay. Great location for the view but they shouldn’t rest on that. Service needs lots of work. I’ve never been totally abandoned by a server. Bizarre.
Beautiful views of the city, lake, and folks on the trail. Enormous bar with TVs and numerous tables. Usually pretty busy, particularly during summer.
Our party of 7 had four servers deliver our dinner so that everyone was served at once. Unheard of! The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. We had a great time as a result.
We loved the views and the staff was wonderful! Such a cool spot to enjoy the city views , will definitely come back!
Great server(s), breathtaking view, warm on a cold day. Enjoyed a long lovely lunch that was not rushed.
It was a wonderful experience!
I want to come back again on an evening when it is snowing.
Just meh. Food wasn’t that good and service was incognito until we switched servers. The second one was great.
Food was good but service was lacking. Order donut holes to start and they arrived after our entrees. Had to track down server for everything.
The views are awesome, even on a cloudy day, so go with a little patience and you will be happy.
Arrived at the restaurant and had valet take my car right away. Parking is right outside. Once inside the views of the city are just outside the windows. The atmosphere is alive and warm. The food and wine are pretty good for the price you’re paying. I felt like a dinner like this would’ve cost a lot more anywhere else that is at this restaurants tier. The service was great; glass never empty and they’d check on us regularly to see if we needed anything. I will be recommending this place to my friends and making a trip back myself again soon.
The bread service is worth paying for, lightly charred with compound butters, some might argue otherwise but it’s delicious in its straight forward way. The menu is well edited, serving a variety of preferences and diet types. The 3 beet salad and brisket au jus was what we got, ample portions, well prepared food and attentive service. There’s a well priced wine and beer list. The view of the city is the icing on the cake. It’s well heated for the winter. Parking right by the restaurant may be a bit of a challenge but it’s about 2 blocks from street parking in Cannon Drive.
This is a good place to have a drink or a basic lunch but I won’t go here for dinner again. Twice my fish was raw and the veggie burger was just mush. Menu need a redo and kitchen needs a good expediter.
Always an excellent experience! We highly recommend.
Beautiful views, lovely atmosphere, delicious open faced omelet and delicious gin smash cocktail in a beautiful glass. Those potatoes on the side too! So good. And honey butter! Delicious on my toast. Brunch was a hit. The only reason I knocked one star off was my friend's squash quiche wasn't very hot, but she said it was still good. I'd definitely come back again.
Wonderful views, great service, tasty brunch menu. My only surprise was the valet parking charge of $17, should be $5 to $10 for a location like this.
The food was great and the location is awesome. It’s industrial chic. Our server was so nice and the drinks were amazing!
Excellent service, great atmosphere, wonderful view of the lake.
Great food, service and cocktails.
The food is fantastic, the service was excellent and the ambiance was wonderful. We had a window table and being able to view the lake, the joggers and the hustle bustle of the people out and about was really fun. BUT, the fact that they charge $17 for valet parking is outrageous! Because of their location you have to valet. When I first went there parking at lunch was free, then $7, then $10 and now $17. Stefani Prime valet is free, McCormick and Schmick valet is free and that is for both lunch and dinner.
This is our favorite place to go for brunch! We love taking our friends to check it out.
The environment is splendid with great seating and views. The service was adequate as was the food.
One of my favorite spots fro lunch and they have the best Bloody Mary!
Beautiful setting but food was mediocre. And wine selection sparse.
Server was indifferent after we didn’t order drinks. When I told her this was our first time at the restaurant after 2 previous tries, she said schedule is posted online. When I said, this week’s schedule had not not been updated, she just shrugged.
Busser cleaned table while I was still siting there waiting for friends to return from rest rooms.
That’s a first. Ugh!
Great location, great building, great service!
Girls’ Sunday brunch - Wonderful time, wonderful view, great service. Open face omelet was delicious!
This was our second visit to the restaurant in the last couple of months and our experience was kind of uneven. The service was very professional and efficient. The appetizers were spot on but the entrees were mediocre. The meal ended on a high note with great desserts. Even if the food is uneven, the view of the skyline is spectacular!
the wait staff and hostess were very friendly and helpful. however the service, and particularly the bar service was way too slow. even when the restaurant was not full, it took forever to get drinks. I would recommend this only with a caveat that they don't seem to have their act together yet. I had dinner here when it first opened at the end of 2017 and it doesn't seem like they've made much progress in the way of timely service since then.
Food was good, but it took too long for the meals to arrive. When they finally did, 2 of the 5 meals were mistakenly brought out to the wrong table so we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for replacement meals to be cooked and brought out.
The food was tasty but the service was underwhelming - our water was empty for a while. That said, I would come back again, as you cannot beat the location!
The food was mediocre, but the setting is lovely and the service was good and everyone was very welcoming. Might be better for drinks and snacks than a meal.
Waiter wasn’t the most outgoing. Food was good. View was incredible. No specials
I brought a large group of out of town guests. Reservations were set in advance. The service was slow and our dinner took longer than typical. We arrived at 6pm, left at 8:30pm and spent most of our time waiting.
I've been to The Lakefront Restaurant 3 times. The location is outstanding -- it's the only lakefront restaurant in Chicago which makes it a great place to be on a beautiful day. The views of the city are awesome. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food, on the other hand, can range from good to forgettable to not great. It's a shame because this place has a lot of potential.
The most perfect setting on the lake and the renovation was beautiful! We kept trying to think who could get married and have their wedding there
