The Lake House
Outdoor seating right next to the water.
While we made reservation, reservations are not taken for outdoor seating. Luckily a table was open shortly after we arrived.
Very nice lunch!had the bowl with huge👍 Serving of quackamole! Quiet.....could carry on a conversation which is u usual in a restaurant today!
Very nice place. A group of friends went out for a special dinner and had a great time.
We have tried a few times to go to The Lake House but were unable to get a reservation. We finally got one for Sunday, February 24. We drove the 20+ miles in terrible weather, only to find that they suffered a power outage. We were disappointed that they did not think to call all of the people who had made reservations to warn us.
They did not have my reservation through open table recorded on their books. Luckily they had a table open for 1 hour , but reserving through this site does not seem to work.
My daughter and I recently had dinner at the Lake House to celebrate her 11th birthday with a weekend getaway. We absolutely loved it! I received a call in the afternoon to confirm our reservation and the spelling of her name. When we arrived, a Happy Birthday sign had been printed, signed by the employees, and laid on our table. We had a beautiful waterfront view. The manager also stopped by our table and wished my daughter a happy birthday. I ordered the salmon which came with a variety of options for the side, and my daughter ordered ribs and could substitute the sides with no problem. She was also excited to hear that she could choose any dessert complimentary. She opted for the lemon blueberry cheesecake, and we also shared the chocolate sphere. ALL of our food was exceptional, only to be outshined by the warm hospitality and excellent care from our server. If we should find ourselves in town again, we would most definitely return to the Lake House.
Britanny was great. Food was very good.
Requested a table looking out over water and received it. Food was good as was service. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back as well as recommend it to others.
This was our first visit to The Lake House, and it was amazing! The dining room is beautiful - quiet, restful, cozy. The food was excellent and the service OUTSTANDING! Very, very professionaI. We went for dinner in the middle of winter and now can't wait to experience it all during summer out on the deck!
Fantastic food, excellent serve and fabulous atmosphere.
We love the Lake House — summer, winter, spring and fall. We stopped in after touring a local historical home that had been decorated for Christmas. Our booth by the window gave us a lovely view of Muskegon Lake (until the cold Michigan darkness descended). We both tried a speciality Manhattan to start, and it was very tasty with a subtle smokiness. We also had the drunken mushrooms, which were exquisite! And since it was still happy hour, our drinks and appetizer were a bargain! What really made the evening was the duck breast on special for that night — it was delicious! Prepared perfectally, with interesting sides: beets, potatoes cooked in duck fat, and blueberry confit. My husband had the seafood tortellini, which he often orders — just as good as always. We also chose a nice bottle of affordable Pinot Noir, which ended up serving as our dessert as well. The only criticism is that we felt just SLIGHTLY rushed — but our server adjusted and was very solicitous. It was a very nice evening and we left very full and very satisfied!
This restaurant was very clean, the atmosphere was terrific and food was outstanding. I would recommend this to anyone in the Muskegon area.
We had a birthday dinner there for a dear friend. Our server couldn’t have been more accommodating, fun and helpful. We sat by the window overlooking the boat slips & lake. The food was delicious especially the scallop dish . I would highly recommend the Lake House.
We love the Lakehouse! Great food and great music.
Slightly disappointed in what they considered Strawberry shortcake, but everything else was great
We have loved this restaurant for many years. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill. The staff is rude and the manager tried to give our table - reserved here thru Open Table - away, right in front of us. It is expensive and the food quality is slipping.
We loved the low key atmosphere and the view. We had reservations for 2 were handled promptly. Service throughout the meal was friendly and appropriately paced. The caesar salad was decent. The salad was large shaved pieces of Parmesan, a sprightly dressing and fresh greens were accompanied by the out of ordinary tomatoes and prosciutto which was more like pancetta. Tasty salad but a little beyond a Caesar. The Cajun gumbo was again a tasty soup but not quite authenticate. It tasted of the appropriate roux, but it contained potatoes and and perhaps a a little thin. Again an excellent dish but not quite authenticate.
I had the broiled white fish which was excellent. Well prepared, the accompaniments including the duchess potatoes, the haricot verts and the broiled tomato were delicious. The seasoning did not over power the fish and let the clean taste of the fish shine. My wife the paella. If was interesting take on a paella for one. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. She liked it very much. A very good meal at a fair price.
I loved the view of the bay while eating with my date. She couldn't stop raving over the Jumbo Scallops. A very nice place to eat.
