Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Ladds Tavern offers a stunning location with "amazing views" and a beautiful ambiance, perfect for a special occasion. Guests rave about the "excellent" food and drink options. However, service can be slow, with some experiences impacted by limited menu choices and valet issues. Despite this, the overall setting and quality make it worth visiting.

The food and service here were outstanding. We sat outside which was beautiful. Shania was our server and her service was absolutely outstanding. She split our salad for us without us asking because she knew it would be better (it was), all of her recommendations were perfect, and she pointed out fireworks in the distance during our dessert (which included an anniversary chocolate). I was initially bummed that we couldn’t get a last minute reservation at 90 acres but honestly this experience was probably even better.

The food was much better than we were expecting - overall a very pleasant experience. The only thing that we would like to have changed is that we weren't allowed to sit outside on the patio (it's reserved for club members and hotel guests). While I'd understand this rule on a crowded evening, it was quite empty last night. Only 2 patio tables were used during our entire dinner... leaving many free. It honestly seemed a bit silly to keep them empty. Perhaps the Tavern might be able to come up with a more flexible policy under such circumstances.

We visited Ladds Tavern for lunch for my birthday. The service was spectacular, as was the atmosphere. I had the grilled salmon sandwich, my husband had a shepherds pie, and my daughter had the steak frittes- all were excellent. The views from the windows were spectacular. Patio is reserved for hotel guests and natirar members Fri - Sunday so if you want to enjoy and eat outside go on Mon - Thurs. Can’t wait to go back. It’s was just beautiful and food excellent. Drinks great too!

Restaurant is beautiful, but the service was horrible. We were sat at our table and waited almost 15 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us, and waited almost an hour for our entrées. Beautiful view, but definitely won’t be coming back.

Last evening was my 5th time at this restaurant. Always enjoyed a drink before dinner outside on the beautiful veranda. After five dinners at this establishment, we were told that we had to be members or staying in the hotel if we wanted to sit outside before being seated inside for dinner. No prior warning about this when the reservation was made. Others inside at the bar were also disappointed. Sadly, there were a total of 3 individuals on the outside veranda!

Sadly this will be the last time I visit this restaurant - I SO wanted it to be good and it SO disappointed. I have been there twice before with great food and amazing views and always slow food service. Today I took my wife there for her birthday with my son and daughter in law and her parents and we sat for an hour and 15 minutes waiting for some soup and a burger! We also had our 1 year old granddaughter with us and as you know their tolerance for sitting in a high chair for too long is always an issue although she was great today. After one cocktail (we were not offered another one) and an hour and 15 minutes of sitting and waiting we got up and left. They were kind enough to comp us our drinks which in fairness was the least they can do. We got up and went to the always wonderful and reliable Tewksbury Inn and had a fast and wonderful meal. Thankfully we salvaged her birthday lunch but we lost my daughter in law and grand daughter as it was nap time after we were there so long! Their new scam of charging non residents / non members $20 for valet parking also left a very bad taste in our mouths and we elected to park ourselves and walk in from 75 yards away (not really a hardship apart from the baby and stroller). They also have a new policy of only allowing members and hotel guests sit on the outside seating on Fridays to Sundays and despite us asking they would not be swayed on that - this despite the fact that there were maybe 2 of 10 tables outside occupied! I would SO like this place to be good as the location is great, the views are a wow and the food when it comes is very good (we had 2 previous meals there with reasonable success). But we will not be going back there again after today (we live only 4 miles away so thats a shame). If you have 3 hours for lunch then maybe this is for you but I will not take this chance again. Hugely disappointed.

The food was ok - limited menu for lunch. The service was great. Ambiance/deco/view outstanding. THE VALET PARKING - they send you a text when you park your car that allows you to text them your car is ready. I sent the text and was told “it’s on its way” - THEY LOST MY KEYS AND MY CAR. It took them 45 minutes and me having to beg for help until they started looking for the keys. Valet staff was not helpful. Over 1 hour late they found the key and then I got my car. They did comp my parking feed of $22. I will only go there again by Uber. If you decide to go. Request your car 1 hour in advance and get the name of the person that takes your keys. Due to their incompetence, I missed my 5pm appointment. Stick with 90 acres. DO NOT GO HERE.

Food and service took extremely long, not worth the value for paying that much. Menu is very limited and only have brunch options on the weekends. Seems like they are banking on hotel guests only because there is no other option so they don’t have to perform to standards of a quality restaurant.
