Situated within the clubhouse at Braestone Club, The Ktchn features menus as lively as the views of the valley that extend beyond its bar and dining room. Inspired by the remarkable location, but open to creative interpretations and flavours, The Ktchn’s well-crafted cuisine is characterized by an eclectic perspective expressed through diverse dishes and fare. The maturing beverage program features a curated list of small-production wine and beer, and an assortment of thoughtfully crafted cocktails, unique gins and bubbly from Ontario and beyond.     The price doesn’t match the value. It’s a nice restaurant, and the food was good. But for the prices it should have been amazing. The staff was lovely and the restaurant was beautiful though.

    We four had dinner June 11 in the inside/outside section of the restaurant near the fireplace. The surroundings were superb in comfort and the views outside were spectacular. Our waiter: Michael was absolutely the best server that any of us had ever experienced in any of the many dining establishments that we had ever dined in. This guy was super professional; we enjoyed really nice chat, as he is obviously a very intelligent guy, and he is super dedicated and passionate to what he does. The menu is not very large, but does cover enough choices for the main courses. One note: the wine bottle prices were quite low as compared to other similar dining venues; that was a nice surprise. The Caesar salad was excellent! The seared scallops appetizer did not have seared scallops and they were slightly above raw. Two of us had seared halibut plates which were excellent. Two of us had steak dinners, although the steaks and the mashed potatoes were cold when the plates arrived. A nice touch was that after every course, Michael would clear our table of any crumbs, and all cutlery was replaced with fresh ones.... a nice touch. All in all, we four enjoyed our dining experience, and will likely return again.

    We have been dining here for several years now and has become our favorite. Although we live in Toronto it is still worth the drive. The food quality is great, the ambience and live entertainment should teach Toronto establishments how to run a restaurant. Staff ? Absolutely incredible. Michelle is by far the best server we have ever had the pleasure to meet. Myles a close 2 nd and an exceptional server and they both have what it takes to make a dining experience that much more Great job to all at the KTCHN.

    Coffee and some parts of the meal came lukewarm. Serving sizes were fair, although soup size seemed quite small. Food was ok, not great but the French toast was very tasty. It’s hard to say about value with food prices being what they are.

    My husband and I enjoyed an impromptu date night during a very stressful time for us. Our server made a number of appropriate suggestions for our dinner experience that elevated the evening. She was friendly, professional, and read us well. At first I was a bit concerned about the table we were shown to that overlooked the restaurant from the library. It worked out for us as it was helpful in keeping us engaged and listening to the music for the evening. The music was appropriate in the level of sound and genera’s of music. The food was very flavourful. The service was well timed. Thank you for the hospitality and experience we were able to enjoy!

    At Horseshoe Valley for the day and was looking for a good meal without having to go back to Barrie. We are so glad we decided to try Ktchn. Weather was perfect for the patio, there was live music, (for a Monday?). The staff was attentive and the food was fabulous. We will definitely be back when in the area.

    The food was excellent, as usual. The Iberico pork chop was particularly notable. The Hanger steak was perfectly prepared and of ideal soft texture inside, yet crisply seared at the surface.. The Vindaloo lamb, although good, was noticeably blander than what the Vindaloo title implies. I suggest that the server offer a choice of spiciness, that includes culturally accurate hotness. Our server was highly professional, and per true fine dining tradition, knew when to come to the table to assist and advise without ever being intrusive. Wine recommendation was five star.
