Ok, so we have fancy wine glasses, twinkling candles, nice chairs and really shiny cutlery, but don't let that fool you... So disappointing. Ive used the kitchen for catering an event last month and also ate there twice. Food was excellent, service was fantastic. This time, we had made a booking for my birthday. We were approached rudely by staff, pointed to our table. Left there with no service for 10 minutes. Watched people who walked in after us be served before us. As we ate, we saw a couple receive the same treatment except they hadn't made a booking. The staff member was so over the top rude that the couple sat down completely embarrassed and then walked out after the rude waitress came back to give them the menus. Such poor service displayed that day.

We had a little birthday breakfast on Sunday morning - out first time dining here and it was fabulous - I have already recommended it to friends. Great location, vibe, food & a very attentive and friendly team looked after us super well. We will be back.

What a delight it was to have lunch at The Kitchen Tootgarook. The service was efficient and friendly, the food was delicious - it's innovative in a gently creative way- and the recommended wines were 'spot on'. Parking is a challenge so book for a time slot that may be a little earlier than you might usually do. The Kitchen is certainly worth a visit ( or two).

A great local in Tootgarook. Food is wholesome and flavoursome and the service professional. There's also a decent wine list featuring some good local wines. Good ambience, despite bright lights over the bar. Open fire is a special bonus on colder nights.

Wonderfully warm and cozy atmosphere, the croquettes were amazing as a starter, and the barramundi Brazilian stew was to die for! The service was wonderful, and the staff were very accommodating :)

Despite ordering gluten free due to being celiac and putting it in the notes on booking I am sure I was given normal bread as I was violently Ill after leaving the restaurant with a gluten attack. Ruined the rest of my weekend and will take months to recover. Very disappointed as the waiter read back the order. It is more difficult these days to identify gluten free bread as it has become so much better and I didn’t recheck on them putting the plate down as I usually would as I have been there before without incident . Won’t make that mistake again. Sad that it will turn me off of returning for some time as I enjoy coffee frequently from the kitchen as it is close to home.

Great spot for family dinner. Thoughtful menu with good variety, super friendly staff made us feel really welcome. The Kitchen deserves a gold medal for $5 kids meals and similarly well-priced grown up meals. Really tasty too. We’ll be back!

The food is really good! I’m vegetarian and gluten intolerant but I had a choice of a few different meals from the menu. I chose the curry which came with daal, rice, raita, chutney and papadums. I love that it came with all the trimmings. And was a really tasty curry. The service is outstanding. And it was really warm on a winters night. Highly recommend this place :)
