They said they don’t take open table !!!!! Something is very wrong here !!!!!!! I had a confirmation email and it didn’t matter !!!!!! We had to find somewhere else to eat !!!! Take them off open table !!!! They say they aren’t on it !!!!! It was a disaster !!!!
Unfortunately what started as a promising meal quickly deteriorated as we needed to send our fish back to cook more, it was raw. They obliged but it still was way undercooked and we left it. They did take it off our bill, but it is not hard to cook flounder,.
We did not know what to expect as this was our first time. The food from the appetizers through to the dessert were delicious. Most importantly, all the food was made to order. It ambiance was romantic and quiet, exactly what we were looking for. I would certainly recommend The Kitchen for a nice night out

We were very pleasantly surprised with our recent dinner at The Kitchen, as none of our friends nor family had mentioned it before. We were greeted by the host upon arrival and our table was ready a few minutes early, always a good sign. The wine by the glass selections were modest, but the offerings quite nice for both whites and reds, as well as a lovely (as I'm told) Rose. The wines pour was quite generous and we enjoyed the wines thoroughly. Then came the trio of "amuse bouche", each of which was very tasty and totally unexpected and delivered by the Chef. We then each had salads (could have shared) that were generous and well seasoned. Lastly, our main courses of fried chicken and a southern seafood dish featuring shrimp, scallops and andouille followed, accompanied by fried potato and mixed vegetable sides. Very large portions and both were superb.
Service was very attentive throughout and the bill wasn't inexpensive, but definitely worthy of the type of meal delivered. Lastly, a big bonus was the valet service (tough to park in Piermont) adjacent to the restaurant. Can't wait to go back.
The Kitchen in the Hudson is absolutely amazing. The service was phenomenal and the food was over the top. The owner, Steve, came over and introduced himself. The chef served us our food and made sure everything was to our liking. It was amazing how they treated us like family! They took care of me and my friends from the second we walked in up until the second we left. I have nothing bad to say about this place whatsoever. If you have a chance to visit Piermont, I would definitely recommend coming here for lunch or dinner!
Excellent service and atmosphere. Excellent appetizers and soup. Dinner entrees were above average but not excellent. Salmon was a little overcooked when ordered medium Filet mignon was a little overcook inside when ordered medium rare. Veal chop was a little undercook. Overall. We will still come back for a second.
The Kitchen is now located where Xavier's was for many years in Piermont, NY. After Xavier's, another restaurant replaced it for a few months but didn't do well. And now we have The Kitchen, a new gem in Piermont. All 4 of us were extremely impressed with our entire dining experience. The ambience is relaxed and comfortable, but it is definitely fine dining. No dress code here...I was in jeans.
Our waiter, Arturo, was superb and helped us with our menu choices. He was also friendly, nice and very attentive...a nice combination. I have had "amuse-bouche" before, but I was not always impressed. Here we had 3 amuse-bouches and all were delicious. My wife and I shared an appetizer of grilled and crisped duck breast with a delicious sauce. The other couple shared 2 appetizers: escargot in a yummy cream sauce and a huge Caesar salad. They were very happy with both, and so was I because I tasted both. My entrée was outstanding: 8 succulent lamb chops in a luscious sauce, grilled to perfection, and my wife had a seafood dish of lobster, shrimp and scallops in a delicious white sauce. The other couple each had the same seafood platter. We were too stuffed to have desserts but each couple shared a "light" dessert: we had 2 scoops of raspberry sorbet and 1 scoop of lemon sorbet, and the other couple had 3 scoops of pistachio ice cream. I shared French pressed coffee with the other guy.
We all felt that this restaurant was a must-try for anyone who is interested in a wonderful dining experience. In fact, when I got home I e-mailed a review to about 10 friends and told them how much we enjoyed our dinner and that they should give it a try. I have never done that before. Somehow I know that they will not be sorry.
The food was wonderful . The experience was diminished by a very loud, noisy room and mediocre service. We were very surprised because most of the reviews touted excellent service. Will share concerns when discussing restaurant.
We have been big fans of The Kitchen when it was in Englewood,NJ. It’s so wonderful to have it back in a cute town like Piermont. Every bite was delicious!

A Piermont gem that is firing on all cylinders. Intimate, serene, great wait staff, every wonderful dish beautifully plated. Surprises "on the house" to delight your taste buds. Date night, special occasion, couples enjoying each other's company...a great night in every respect.

Cozy, great atmosphere, great service and pre-dinner treats which were really nice. Fabulous food, appetizers especially. We had lobster ravioli & oysters Rockefeller - highly recommend both. Quiet atmosphere, in a great location - I will be back. Valet parking on Saturday night is really convenient.
My wife and I celebrated our second anniversary here, and had a wonderful dinner overall. It was a quiet night, and the server was attentive but not hovering. The tastes from the chef before the meal were great - the only concern was that we were brought a sample with pesto sauce, even though we informed our server of my wife's nut allergy (pine nuts in the pesto). The rest of the dinner was great - the filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the vegetables and mashed potatoes on the side were delicious. Greater attention to detail - especially with a health hazard like a food allergy - probably would have earned that coveted 5th star on the review.

Exemplary service, intimate setting, scrumptious food. The photos do not do it justice. Loved the complementary tastes of appetizers before the meal, and enjoyed every moment. Truly something we will remember.
We were very pleased with our dinner experience. This is a great restaurant if you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy a very good meal. The staff was very attentive and the menu was diverse and fairly priced. Usually when you go to a restaurant like this, you expect small, high quality dishes however the portion sizes and sides were very filling. In addition, they brought out 3 different Amuse-bouche selections before our dishes. All very good. Another good thing we found is that they had a "summer sale" for a wide variety of wines that were very reasonably priced. The menu showed some bottles at 50% off and as low as $25 for a bottle. This makes your evening a lot more affordable. Nice food selection, fair prices and a nice environment. We'll be back.

Our dinner started well as the amuses bouche were nice:
A very good and tender little piece of beef filet.
An elegant carrot and ginger warm puree.
My starter was lobster raviolis:
The ravioli's walls were not thin enough. The dish was not warm enough. The sauce was more heavy than elegant. The filling was lacking seasoning.
The main was a grilled salmon:
The fish was ok but not great, lacking salt and paper. The same applies to the spinach coming with it.
If you ask for salt and peper you will get a classic salt and pepper set when one would expect a grinder in a fine dining place.
It is a pity: the place and location are great, the people are very nice but the food is merely ok at the exception of the amuse bouche.
It took about an hour and a half for the food to come but they gave us a few appetizers to keep us entertained. Very accommodating
The management made us feel as if we were in our own home. All entrees are accompanied by small starters and “side dishes of the day”. The venison was truly fantastic.
We will be back many times over.
What a gem. This quaint restaurant served up delicious food. From the apps of a delicious Caesar salad and spaghetti chitara through the carrot cake dessert. The main courses were our favorites. My salmon, done to my specifications. Not too rare and not too medium was just as I liked!!! My husband had the fried chicken. Crunchy and moist inside.
Plus a drive up to Piedmont is always special. Not too far from Bergen County but enough to get away. The staff greeted us pleasantly and the wait staff was knowledgeable and efficient!!!!

Sadly a local disappointment. Restaurant was empty at brunch. Service was inattentive, ...ambiance sadly missing as was decor. With so many wonderful options in the area, would not recommend.
Upscale dining with delicious food. Attention to detail was exquisite. A wonderful experience. You can hear yourself when you talk. Lovely ambiance.

Cozy, romantic, restaurant in Piermont across from Piermont Landing. The food was fresh and very well prepared, the portions sized right. Brunch was a very good value. The service was attentive and not hovering, very friendly. We will definitely dine there again.

We tried Kitchen in the Hudson Valley during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week on a Thursday night. The food and service was fabulous! We started with a complimentary Potato and Leek Soup (not part of the Restaurant Week menu) served in a "shot glass". It was very tasty! Both my husband and I chose the same appetizer and main entree: Cajun Shrimp and Grits appetizer and Venison in a wine reduction with mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. Both were excellent and very tasty. The restaurant is small but bright with a contemporary flair. Would definitely go back to try the regular items on the menu, especially during the warmer months when we can enjoy a stroll along the Hudson River and new bridge.
My cousin and I were the only ones in the restaurant at 2 p.m. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch and good conversation. After 2 hours, the owner asked us to leave as he was having a cleaning crew come in to set up for the dinner crowd. That was the only thing that tainted the day--being asked to "move along".
Went to The Kitchen in the Hudson Valley for the restaurant week menu. We were greeted very pleasantly. The restaurants decor is a little bland but the food certainly isn’t. I had the Caesar salad, the Salmon and the Bananas Foster. The salad was okay. The Salmon was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. My husband had the shrimp and grits appetizer which was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. He also ordered the strip steak which he thoroughly enjoyed. Overall our dinner was very good. Will definitely be back.
