About The Kitchen Consigliere
Come enjoy old Italian-style dishes, known today as Italian comfort food, at The Kitchen Consigliere as executive chef Angelo Lutz preserves the heritage of real, authentic homestyle cooking. His spot is an informal BYOB Italian eatery with an emphasis on the peasant dishes found in traditional homestyle Italian cooking. Influenced by the dishes he ate as a youngster, Angelo's cooking style stems from teaching and recipes taught by his mother and grandmother. The atmosphere is informal and the food and menus change often, allowing The Kitchen Consigliere to be a cozy, quaint and not over-the-top eatery for the entire family. And good food isn't the only reason to eat at the café. The real adventure is meeting with the real kitchen consigliere; you will come for the food but stick around for the conversation.

The Kitchen Consigliere Ratings and Reviews
We had a great meal for my daughter’s birthday. We had a variety of types of meals, chicken, pasta, seafood which everyone enjoyed. The price range may be a little high, but the quality is definitely there. Our server, Andre went above and beyond in making our dining experience a success. I highly recommend The Kitchen Consigliere.
I always enjoy eating here and the food is first rate.
Not a reflection on the restaurant, but this time we were seated next to another couple and one of the party was hacking up a lung. The tables are very close together. Fortunately they were finished not long after we sat down and I did not need to worry about a germ mask.
The other thing is now that's it starting to be cold at night is when the door opens and closes it can get a little chilly if you're seated near the door. Bring a sweater or a scarf.
This authentic Italian restaurant is amazingly delicious. Love there service. JP is an awesome waiter! The food is always to perfection. We come here at least 3 times per month. Their polenta w/ sausage bolagnesa is outstanding. Angelo is a very hospitally restaurant owner.
Our first visit. Our waitress from extremely knowledgeable and told us what we’re the favorites The food was delicious, we had the Gnocchi & Salmon and both were delicious. We shared our dessert and it was so worth it.
We will definitely return & I would recommend highly! You won’t be disappointed.
The food and environment were familiar yet creative. We had a great experience from the first bite of our savory sausage meatball, brocolli rabe & sharp provolone appetizer to the last bite of our indulgent tower of pizelle, connoli cream and berry desert; and everything in between.
Best Penne and one of the top ever Veal Parm dishes ever. Great Caesar salad too! Went early and watched the place fill up. Server was awesome and answered all our questions. If you want original Italian cooked the old - fashioned way - this is the place to go! Can't wait to go back! Can't wait to tell others about this hidden gem!
The food and service is so awesome, that we actually went Twice last week. The one night I ordered the Crab Ragu, it is the best I have had anywhere. The 2nd night I ordered Salmon Mediterranean, there are no words to describe how delicious this dish is. Kitchen Consigliere is a true gem in South Jersey! Angelo and the staff are phenomenal!!!
Excellent restaurant! My mother lives in assisted living near by. I fell in love the first time we went. The web site menu had shrimp scampi, mom's favorite. When we arrived it wasn't on the menu. No problem! The waiter assured us that the chef would make scampi for mom. Now we go when ever I come to visit. On this last visit none of the desserts were ones that fit her diet. So, they made a special dessert of pizzelles, cannoli cream and fresh fruit which delighted her. Aside from this exceptional service the menu always has unique and varied offerings. The set the bar high!
My husband and I used to frequent this restaurant often and were always pleased with the service and food. It seems our last few visits which have been more spread out over time the service has diminished a bit. The food and menu are consistent. If you are looking for a place where you know that you can go back and experience the same meal again this is your place! So many wonderful, flavorful dishes!
Pick this from Trip Advisor and once again the advice was reliable. Located in nice quiet part of town the food was outstanding and the ambiance well suited for a business discussion. The pasta and sausage was excellent. The caesar salad was plentiful, delicious and included in the meal. This place is a winner.
My family went for my daughters birthday, we had reservations for 7:00 and were seated promptly. Our server was Stephanie, she was a sweetheart and very knowledgeable of both the menu and the specials. The grilled endive appetizer special was excellent and enough for four people to split. I ordered the Salmon which is on the regular menu, served over spinach and pineapple. The best Salmon I have had in a long time. My daughter ordered the clams and spaghetti, she loved it! I do not remember what my husband and son had, but they said it was delicious as well. I would recommend this restaurant highly. I can not wait to go back!! And thank you Stephanie for the wonderful service!
Our experience was excellent from the moment we walked in. Our server, Angela, was outstanding. She knows the menu and the specials well and was able to answer all our questions about both. I recommend you ask for her if you go.
The food was phenomenal! I ordered the eggplant Parmesan and it was the best I've ever had. The Caprese salad was fresh and out of this world. Be sure to bring a nice bottle of wine!
I will definitely be back to this authentic, amazing Italian restaurant!
