About The Kitchen Consigliere
Come enjoy old Italian-style dishes, known today as Italian comfort food, at The Kitchen Consigliere as executive chef Angelo Lutz preserves the heritage of real, authentic homestyle cooking. His spot is an informal BYOB Italian eatery with an emphasis on the peasant dishes found in traditional homestyle Italian cooking. Influenced by the dishes he ate as a youngster, Angelo's cooking style stems from teaching and recipes taught by his mother and grandmother. The atmosphere is informal and the food and menus change often, allowing The Kitchen Consigliere to be a cozy, quaint and not over-the-top eatery for the entire family. And good food isn't the only reason to eat at the café. The real adventure is meeting with the real kitchen consigliere; you will come for the food but stick around for the conversation.

The Kitchen Consigliere Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious but our waitress was horrible. She was not attentive at all. The bus boy was more attentive than her. He brought me a glass of ice that i asked waitress to bring. He brought water refilled continually. He brought me more ice. She never looked at our table. She never asked how we were doing. Gave her the check and never even thanked us. 38 tip never again. I wish i never tipped her at all. I should have given it to the bus boy. He deserved it. It was my daughters birthday. She didnt even acknowledge it. She brought the cake and left. The african american waitress was bubbly happy friendly caring and enjoyed her job. Thats my choice for a waitress. She sang happy birthday to her table. A waitress is a people job if you dont like people you shouldnt waitress.
We went as soon as they opened (1:30 pm) on a Sunday. The place was empty and I liked it. Everything felt Italian. We started with the rice ball appetizer and then got salads. Their home-made balsamic dressing was delicious. Their rice balls were also on point. The flavors all came together for a very delightful bite. In case you have kids, they don't have a children's menu, but if you ask they will definitely accommodate. I got the Sunday gravy and my date got the chicken piccata. They were both amazing. I look forward to coming back. Our waiter was also very attentive and knowledgeable.
I came with a group of my friends for dinner and we were all so pleased with out meals. I ordered the cioppino and it was absolutely delicious. The seafood was cooked well and the pasta was so fresh. This wasn't the first time that we've come here for dinner and we'll be back again!
We had an earlier dining time (4:45 PM) and when we got there the place was mostly empty. We were taken to a table right next to the kitchen. With the whole restaurant essentially open, I thought we might be able to get a nicer table. Was told that the restaurant was totally booked and that there were no other tables available. Our first time there. Maybe the other tables were for their "regulars". Other than that, the food and service were pretty good.
We had the most delicious gnocchi. They were light, favorable and the best I've had. My only issue was we were seated at a table right by the front door, on the kitchen side and every time the door opened it was cold. When we go again I would request sitting on the opposite side if it is during the winter months. Other than that, the service and food was outstanding. Can't wait to return.
Extremely rude hostess!!! She was not letting our party to sit and start ordering before everyone arrived. She made sure to remind us that we were 10 minutes late and we had 1 hour and 15 minutes to sit, order and eat. Very unwelcoming attitude. I was tempted to leave even before sitting. The waitress was totally opposite and did her best to recover the situation.
We were very satisfied with the experience- good food-good service-good people. The only minor issue was that the espresso for $3.50 was about one tablespoon, the server responded that the measure was correct, but she did give me a "double" (really????) at no additional charge because I questioned it.
