Wonderful round table with plenty of space for our party of 7. Fresh food. Nice size portions. Good prices. Decent wine list. Terrific service.
While visiting Chicago, I came across the Kitchen. I stopped in for lunch and had a bowl of tomato soup and salmon salad. Both were delicious and fresh- I highly recommend making a reservation as they were quite busy but that’s a great sign of a good location! The views were amazing and I will definitely return when back in Chicago.
The Kitchen is one of my go-to options for business lunches. It accommodates most all eating preferences and is in such a swell location. I love their commitment to small-grower sourcing, and local resources. And, I've never had anything but rave reviews from clients. Also, very fairly priced.
Excellent service and amazing food! Interesting combination of food without being pretentious.
Staff was great at helping me get a good table with a view as I had people visiting from out of town
Food was excellent and creative. Only room for improvement was that the butcher’cut steak which was supposed to be dry aged was not as tender as I would expect. It was still delicious though. All else including cocktails were 5 Star quality.
We had reservations well in advance, but we were seated at a hightop table in the bar area instead of a table in the main dining room. There were many empty tables there during our dining time.
Good place overall. But the servant logged my food wrong so the kitchen made me the wrong food. They did apologize after and gave me a free dish and took off one dish from my bill, but I still think this is a mistake that shouldn’t have happened.
Literally the best tasting beef burger I’ve had in this city. All local ingredients makes the difference.
We have been here a couple of times and as usual, everything was just wonderful, the food, the service and the atmosphere.
Food was good but wouldn’t say best meal of your life. View is amazing and ambiance is perfect for special get-together. Lively scene
Outstanding dinner and great service.
Food was delicious. My second
Visit to this restaurant. A bit pricey
But only if you are ordering alcohol.
Food was very average but ambiance was very nice along with a very cheery server who was very attentive
The perfect Chicago river view, great ambiance and good food makes this restaurant a great place to visit. The food wasn’t outstanding, but it was a nice experience over all. The tomato soup was amazing, the hummus was very good, the tuna ceviche was super salty (almost unpleasant), the New York was good and the short ribs were fine. Desserts were delicious... overall a good experience, but this place has it all to be a great place
Excelente atención y la comida espectacular!
En todo momento nos atendieron con cordialidad en todo lo q solicitamos
Fun nice place, parking is at a premium. But I like the location. Try the shrimp and grits it was wonderful. Good place playing good music and nice atmosphere.
This was my first time at The Kitchen. The service and ambiance was great! Food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Our waiter Kevin was a gem!
Great ambiance, great food. A little pricey, for how much you get ($32 for 4 scallops, on a very small bed of rice).
Great spot and great staff
Disappointed the restaurant took the turkey burger off the menu. It was the best in the city. No reason to come back.
Great food, service and view. Enjoyed it for a nice birthday dinner.
My roommate from college was in from out of town and I was showing her around Chicago! Had to stop by the Kitchen for the unique menu and great cocktails. We had a fantastic time!
Amazing food and fantastic service.
Great food, attentive service
Food was good as always, service was great, purchasing of gift cards needs fixed so they can be purchased in restaurant easily.
pre Christmas dinner and pre 30th anniversary dinner.
The food and service are excellent. We are repeat diners and plan on going back whenever in Chicago. We enjoyed wine, beets and the best chicken we have ever eaten! We appreciate the attentiveness of the staff too.
I little too loud for business conversation
I made a reservation for myself and two friends to meet after work for dinner after not having seen each other in almost a year. We planned to catch up on our lives and families and enjoy a relaxing visit. Instead, from the moment we sat down until we left we felt very rushed by our waiter. We had just sat down when he started asking if we were ready to order. He was definitely rushing us so that he could turn the table for another tip. He made a point of telling us he had a large table to serve so he interrupted our conversation to see if we wanted to order anything else before he brought us our check. I would come back to the restaurant but I would ask for another server if he was assigned to my table. He really spoiled our evening by his rude behavior.
Server never brought us a drink we ordered, never checked back with us to see how everything was. This was our first time eating lunch there and was not impressed at all with the service or the lunch food selection.
Food was amazing! Salad with kohl rabi and pecans was perfect! Gourmet burger and home made ketchup was amazing. Was our first time there, we will be back! View of the river and skyline is beautiful too!
Great food, well prepared. Excellent service & atmosphere.
I took my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner and the atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant was a surprise. A nice romantic setting with excellent choices on the menu and a nice little dessert to top off our celebration.
Wonderful dinner , service, vibe in the big city on Saturday night. Can’t wait to come back for brunch.
This was our first time at Kitchen and it won’t be our last! The space is great - we sat by the window overlooking the river - that was good even in the winter! The food was terrific - we started with the beets, meatballs and oysters. Of the three, the meatballs and sauce were my favorite! For our main dishes, we had the pork chop, pasta bolognese, and the mole short rib. All excellent! We also had carrots and Brussels sprouts as sides - not as terrific as they were still quite raw. We like our veggies cooked at least al dente. We will definitely be back because there are so many more good choices to try.
The food was excellent and everything came out hot. Two small plates and a large was perfect for me and my wife.
They have an active bar at the front of the restaurant. The only negative was that we were originally gong to be sat at a high top right next to the bar with people standing only a foot away from the table. When I asked the hostess if we could sit in the back of the restaurant which was practically empty she looked at me as though I had insulted her and abruptly grabbed the menus walked us to the back put the menus at a table and walked away without a word. Outside of that we had a very good meal. So if you don’t want to yell to be heard with your date maybe request a table in the back ahead of time.
Perfect for pre-theatre dinners. Great view, great service, food was very good. Easy walk to theater district.
Great food, fun atmosphere -ate there before seeing a play
