We had a great meal and excellent service. The music was a little loud for a Sunday afternoon, so conversation with hard for my parents. We’d love to come back when the patio is open.
Great high top seating, with a view of the river, which helps the whole experience.
A great vibe all around and a place to visit again.
The food was exceptional, a great 10 oz steak cooked perfectly.
Will be recommended to others!
I felt that the waiter was a little pushy with the bill and trying to get me out the door. But over all the food was great, and the rest of the service was excellent.
Great food and great service. The menu is fresh and interesting.
Kevin was a polite and attentive server. I had a cheeseburger and fries, they were delicious! I ate every bite. I will definitely be going back.
Just not feeling this place anymore. Pricing is ridiculous. The kids ordered Shirley Temples and I would guess there was about 3 ounces of fluid in the $3.00 drink. My son ordered the rigatoni which was served cold and my piri piri chicken sandwich came out on a dry, perhaps even stale, ciabatta roll. Very disappointing. Won’t return for more.
Great view of the river in a snowy day. Good service and the deco is really beautiful. I liked the music very much. Found the food ok, few option for lunch.
The Kitchen is wonderful place and especially nice for a special occasion. Everything was great and the staff were great.
We had a wonderful dinner at The Kitchen. The meal was nicely paced and each dish was supremely flavorful and well executed. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and were available whenever we needed them but otherwise left us alone to our meal and conversation. Highly recommend as a nice dinner spot.
THE BEST PORK CHOP EVVVVVER!
We had a wonderful and delicious lunch at The Kitchen. My friend had never visited and we both loved the Gulf Shrimp Hushpuppies, crispy on the outside, drizzled with hot pepper honey, and bursting with shrimp on the inside. The meatballs served in a cast-iron pot with delicious spiced tomato sauce, feta and mint were not your mother's meatball recipe. You could taste the combination of lamb, beef and pork, and the unusual and delicious hint of nutmeg in the meatball.
The coconut-lime vinaigrette is also an interesting and contrasting touch to the Tuna Ceviche. My friend and I shared the hearty Roasted Mushroom sandwich on a chiabata bun and braised greens, gruyere, garlic aioli. It was filling and so flavorful. I want to come back and try more of the small plates, which are great for sampling with friends.
I loved the Kitchen -- it's a warm, bright and inviting space, with an awesome view. I look forward to spending summertime meals on the patio overlooking the Chicago Riverwalk. I'll be back!
Our large group was seated promptly upon arrival. Great seasonal menu well suited for groups to share appetizers followed by individual entrees. Attentive service without being overbearing.
Delicious food! Beautiful ambiance and view of the river! Great service! A little loud for business lunch meetings. I recommend requesting a booth when making reservations for lunch meetings.
This is one of my go to restaurants when visiting Chicago. Different menu choices everytime I've been. Would definitely recommend -
We enjoyed the atmosphere and food very much. Our service was not attentive but not terrible. The Bloody Marys need some serious improvement. Skip that $10 waste of money.
This was our first time at the Kitchen and all four in our party were throughly impressed with the entire experience. Our server was outstanding, as was the food.
Food portions are small Ceviche served in a bowl no chips to accompany.
Service was spotty
I really enjoyed the fish tacos - on lettuce not tortillas - yum. The service was okay, the river view is great, but for lunch it seemed a little expensive to feel slightly hungry when I was done.
Service was excellent.
Most of the food was very good, one dinner felt their pork skewers were a little fatty for enjoyable eating.
Good central location.
Liked food traceability.
I went this past time and didn’t love it. We went to celebrate a birthday and it was at 4:00 and they refused to let us order off the 5:00 menu. The music was playing very loud. The food was fine but not as good as I remember it a few years ago. The ambiance is awesome I would go back l sit outside
we enjoyed our first experience at the Kitchen. We will probably take friends with us on the next trip.
My husband and I wanted brunch with a view and found The Kitchen. Our food, the service and the ambiance were outstanding! I ordered the shrimp with grits and poached eggs-a gluten free option, and it was amazing. My husband ordered eggs and bacon which was beautifully presented along with roasted potatoes and a great looking and equally delicious half an avocado. Our server, the food runner, everyone we encountered were friendly and attentive. Finally, the space is beautifully decorated, high ceilings, open and airy with a great bar and gorgeous view of the river and city buildings in the background. We will definitely be back!!!
Our server was great! Seemed over-priced for the food quality but the location and views are perfect for a night out.
This place is awesome! Service was incredible and our food was delicious. Try the Brussels sprouts as a side or small plate. You will be happy you did. The salmon was incredible. The manager wasn’t satisfied with the temp of the salmon so she personally came out to let us know they were remaking our entrees and took care of us. 5 stars!
We were greeted by an extremely friendly host and were seated by the windows with a lovely view. Our request of a great table was truly accommodated. On our way out, the same host asked how our experience was and if we would come back! Our response was absolutely! My only critique would be the portion size of the entrees may be a little small for big eaters and the salmon was slightly under cooked. Overall it is a really fun, friendly hip Chicago restaurant. The decor has a French vibe and the view are fabulous.
Portions small and not very tasty. Expensive for what you get.
Drinks were amazing, app was amazing, entrees were amazing, and dessert was amazing. Location close to our hotel, great service, and loved the vibe of the restaurant. Food was worth the price. Would definitely return.
Food wasn’t as good as I expected it to be, but I really like the ambience and service.
We missed the happy hour which looked to have some great deals. Portions were a little small. Food was fresh, pretty, and tasty. Staff was friendly.
Cool atmosphere. Professional service. Main course salad was a ridiculously small portion.
Great food and service with view over the river. LL
The tomato soup was awesome, but the little gem salad wasn't that tasty. And it came out with salmon on it which I did not order. When I asked the waitress to take the salmon off and bring it back to me, she gave me a strange look. Overall I felt this restaurant was too expensive for the value received.
Beautiful atmosphere. Cozy and great ambience. Service was fast and efficient and very good. Food was delicious. Great dishes for sharing.
Beautiful location and great service. Price exceeded quality of food - trying to create entrees that just are not worth price.
Terrific location. Great bar-tender with creative cocktails. Excellent food from mainly local sources and very well prepared. Portions are just right/not too large...except the gem salad is good for two. Service is very good, with attentive greeters and wait staff. Atmosphere is fun, with watch-able kitchen.
It was disappointing that some menu items disappeared including the cheese curds, rib eye steak and the delicious bread that you used to have. These were the things I always had so I found the menu not nearly as appealing.
Outstanding service! My wife and I came for dinner with our 3-year old, and the staff was patient and attentive. Really excellent.
We've visited The Kitchen several times in the past and thought our food this time was the least enjoyable of the visits. Our hummus appetizer was great (as usual), but we thought our salmon entrees were mediocre. Not bad at all, just lacking in freshness of flavor. I didn't think the broth was all that interesting or added much.
Also, we ordered the grilled chicken for our son with french fries. The chicken was extremely bland and dry. The fries weren't seasoned much...overall pretty blah.
Our visit was enjoyable, just not outstanding.
