Nick was our server. So great! Very professional and personable at the same time. I’ll absolutely go again!
Excellent dinner with my kids. Liz was terrific and the support staff were equally great. Food was delicious. Def our best meal in Chicago for our weekend.
We’ll be back
the food was inventive and tasty. Liz our server was fabulous. The ONLY complaint is; although the music and atmosphere was hip and enjoyable I think the music could have been a little quieter.
I will definitely go back in the summer and try to sit outside for the wonder view of the river
Good pre-theater option. The food and service were unexpectedly nice. I figured that a trendy location like this would not be up to par with our usual dinner spots downtown but this was very solid. I would go back.
Wonderful ambiance and attentive service for a special birthday celebration!
We had a lovely breakfast at the restaurant but the service was a little light even though it didn't seem that crowded. The coffee was not refilled as often as I'd expect for breakfast/brunch service, and for several things that were lacking I found it difficult to find my server. I had the Farmers' Breakfast with toast, and the toast wasn't very toasted at all. The server indicated I'd receive jam with it, which I didn't, and I don't remember her asking if I needed anything else when the meals were delivered. I found I needed catsup for the potatoes and had to wait quite a while to find someone (one of the bus guys, I think)to bring me that and the "jam", which, although it was VERY DELICIOUS, was difficult to use and spread on the toast. The server was very pleasant and sweet, I just found that there was not as much follow up with or attention to our table as I would have expected after receiving our meals. Otherwise, I'd come back because otherwise the food, other aspects of the service, and atmosphere was wonderful.
The brunch was amazing. The Belgian waffle was the best waffle I’ve ever had.
Excellent atmosphere and wonderful food/service. Poached eggs were fantastic!
Enjoyed a delicious meal. We had several small plates. The meatballs were great, beat salad was wonderful. The ribs were the most tender I have ever had. It is considered a large plate but the portion was really small. We wanted more but no way we were buying another one.
Awesome restaurant! Our waitress Taylor was outstanding. We will definitely recommend The Kitchen to our friends and family!
Our food was very good. My favorite was the ceviche.
Great Valentine’s Day spot!
Average food with a nice view, service above, average noise level , will try again someday.
Great service and wonderful Valentine’ menu!
Steak skewer was cold inside. Must have been cooked no longer than 30 seconds. Manager was helpful and brought out new one.
Great food and great service! The happy hour was a great deal, too.
Simple dishes with impeccable execution. Everything made in house.
What a neighborhood gem! Great ambience, fantastic service and the food was amazing!
Great dining, very fresh ingredients, knowledgeable and friendly servers. Somewhat pricey....but chalk that up to being downtown.
Food was so-so for the price.
Quality of items cooked for the farmer’s breakfast brunch platter was phenomenal. Over medium eggs were cooked as ordered and beared a hint of seasoning that was subtle but delicious. Restaurant week price for the 3 course meal was a bit overpriced. Could maybe use a 4th course in addition to justify price. Though the atmosphere, location, Scenic view of the river, and quality of food offset the cost. Great! Will return for regular brunch dinning :)
Unusual twists on great stuff! Absolutely delicious.
Great experience - didn’t know it was restaurant week but we had a great time.
Went for the restaurant week deal for lunch. It was outstanding! Great value for the money. The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was very open and clean.
Great sharing menu. It was also restaurant week so had individual sizes or items in a four course meal. Desserts were the only disappointment the food was solid. My favorite was definitely the short ribs.
We had what started out to be an excellent experience at the kitchen. The host, Marcos, could not have been better! He kept his promise of seating us quickly and was quite charming! We really enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant right next to the river. We were pleased with our choice of appetizers and found them delicious. Where the ball was dropped was our entrées came out and were cold. Three of her for dishes were cold or Luke warm at best. When asked how our entrées were by our delightful waitress, we explained our dissatisfaction. Right away the manager came over and apologized and said he would speak to the kitchen. They offered to take her plates but we were too hungry and half of it was already polished off. Actually, the Bolognese was not only stone cold it was really not that good. We were splitting the dish and didn’t even finish it. The chicken though just barely warm was quite good the brussels sprouts although cold were good. The scallops on the table were awesome and again, our appetizers of hush puppies, meatballs, and pork skewers were delicious! The restaurant righted their wrong by crediting our bill and we were very pleased. Again the service was outstanding and I will give this restaurant another chance.
Very good food, music was a little too loud for Saturday afternoon lunch
Stopped by with a friend and was treated quite well despite the fact we ordered only small portions of food with our wine. Everything was tasty and served in a timely fashion.
This was my second time visiting and it was just as great as the first time. The food was very tasty and the staff was excellent.
First time visit, really enjoyed the entire experience.
Awesome food ... our waitress was the BEST! Overall great experience:)!!!
Great brunch spot!
The food to my husband and I during brunch was just average. There wasn’t one particular item to write home about. We went to brunch for restaurant week. My husband had the ricotta toast, farmers breakfast, and coffee cake. I had the little gem salad, farmers breakfast, and warm cookie. I would eat here again if someone wanted to go but I probably won’t make it a priority to come back. Even the cookie was too dense and cake-like to enjoy. The view and ambience were great! The music in here made my morning. The drinks drove up our bill even though we only had two each.
I only went because they had the availability we needed for restaurant week and a good vegetarian options. Everything we ordered except the chocolate chip cookie exceeded our expectations. It was really good, and the view of the river was beautiful in the snow. We had a fabulous time and wonderful service. Would go back again for sure.
4 stars instead of 5 because my food was not as hot as it should have been - it was only warm. Otherwise, we enjoyed the meal. The rest of the food was good as was the service.
Delicious food, excellent service, beautiful river views and relaxing vibe. Will definitely be back!
Excellent service including a responsive kitchen to our needs. Ambiance was perfect and we got in and out of there with three courses in time for the opera.
We went to the Kitchen for brunch. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered the mushroom toast and farmers breakfast. Everything was great! Will go back.
Amazing brunch spot right on the river. Open space with high ceilings and simple decor. Everything we had to eat was AMAZING (the maple donuts are a must-have) and our server was friendly, helpful and efficient. No complaints here!
Wonderful round table with plenty of space for our party of 7. Fresh food. Nice size portions. Good prices. Decent wine list. Terrific service.
