Kevin, our waiter was the best!
It was a great time- the food was excellent and we shared 3 entrees and 2 appetizers for 4 people. The service was outstanding! The music was a little too loud to talk easily
Grabbed lunch on st Patrick’s day, was busy but service still good. Excellent views of the river
Excellent service and delicious food
We had a relaxing dinner, and the food and service was good! I would recommend this place to others!
Great view, great food. My steak was a little overdone, but still had great flavor. Staff was awesome. Will defiantly barely be back.
Superficial. Food had some flavor but not a lot of depth. Salmon with broth, smoky bacon, but it was a mix, not a meld. The ginger rye drink was same—good idea but it stopped at the combo. Dessert was Huckleberry of lemon curd and blackberry but it lacked connection— interesting ingredients but not making a greater whole.
The captain was extremely knowledgeable but not really helpful and her servers were perfunctory. Our wine did not make it with our meal as requested and I had to wave and call three times before someone (host? Manager?) finally came around. She was not happy but I know she saw me—she just didn’t want to be bothered. I apologized for calling her over but she only offered an insincere smile. Which sums up the experience—a smile with nothing behind it, except a bit of contempt for the customers, as befits a celebrity restaurant.
Our server, Taylor, was excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
fish tacos have no tortilla, just lettuce wrapper, and no accompaniments. As a result, fish taco main course is really like a light appetizer. Menu needs to be much clearer, or move it to appetizers!
Beautiful river view and spectacular food makes The Kitchen a must visit restaurant in downtown Chicago.
Outstanding food and service! Our waiter guided us through our ordering, and it was perfect. Great culinary experience and great service!
Food was good but portionss eemed not to be in line with restaurant concept: if menu items are meant to share, they should be sized for that purpose.
had an amazing brunch here! ordered the farmer’s breakfast and it did not disappoint. everything that was brought out caught my eye, and i can’t wait to go back and try other menu items!
Excellent server / host
Great suggestion on fresh oysters -- we ordered twice
Yummy cocktails -- tasted very interesting
Quick plate clearing
BEAUTIFUL VIEWS of the River
Foodie Kitchen atmosphere
Lovely decor, and view of the river. Great cocktail menu, and good food selection. Servers were very nice and attentive. Will be back.
We had the roasted chicken and chopped kale salad for lunch. Delicious! Good sized portions, prompt helpful service. Nice location, restaurant was filled for the lunch hour. Good cocktail and wine menu, not a huge lunch selection but all items looked good, plenty of options for us.
What a fantastic experience; the food, view and people are what make the Kitchen fantastic.
Absolutely loved my experience. Food was great, beautiful view of the river, and the restaurant is the perfect balance of busy and spacious.
Love the ambience. Our waitress was excellent and we had a good time.
Service was great and the Food equally as good. Overall a great experience.
Great food and ambiance. Service is in between. Bartender was wonderful. Greeter, not so good. Crowded, yet cozy!
I love this restaurant - their food is always very fresh and yummy.
I took clients here for lunch and was surprised by the music volume - to me, it seemed a little too loud for a lunch crowd, but I may have been extra sensitive towards that due to the fact that I was at a business lunch.
Fabulous spot and I'd definitely recommend The Kitchen to anybody!
I always enjoy scheduling business lunches here. Nice space, good menu and service.
Nice venue with lots of natural light. Nice comfort food for brunch!
Everything was excellent, quality of food and service was outstanding. They could just turn down the music a bit!
No complaints. The rainy weather contributed to customers staying longer causing me to be seated much later. I opted for another less desirable seat to allow me to make the theater start time. The service was a bit slow - took more than 30 min to get our food - but good. We had to eat very quickly to get out of there in enough time. I would recommend but give yourself plenty of extra time.
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was very nice - especially the booths. Our waiter was a bit pretentious - that was the biggest issue we had. I'd definitely go back again though.
Meatballs, fish lettuce wraps, pork belly, fritters, and excellent cocktails.
Shared steak and desserts!
Server, Kevin, was amazing
Very relaxing and will be back!
With a bit of remorse I have to say The Kitchen disappointed tonight for the first time. I hope it’s not a sign of things to come. You notice little tiny details that are missing that erode at the over all experience. Are they cutting back to save a dime here or there? Let’s hope not, it’s one of my favorite easy drop in places!
Too loud, music is loud and voices are loud. Can’t hear , have to shout almost
Fabulous food and great service; however, it was difficult to hear, as the restaurant is quite noisy.
I love everything about The Kitchen! The food is wonderful and service was exceptional! I will be back.
I like the selection of small plates. Here for my third time, I believe. Very good food and nice vibe/ambiance.
Nick was our server. So great! Very professional and personable at the same time. I’ll absolutely go again!
Excellent dinner with my kids. Liz was terrific and the support staff were equally great. Food was delicious. Def our best meal in Chicago for our weekend.
We’ll be back
the food was inventive and tasty. Liz our server was fabulous. The ONLY complaint is; although the music and atmosphere was hip and enjoyable I think the music could have been a little quieter.
I will definitely go back in the summer and try to sit outside for the wonder view of the river
Good pre-theater option. The food and service were unexpectedly nice. I figured that a trendy location like this would not be up to par with our usual dinner spots downtown but this was very solid. I would go back.
Wonderful ambiance and attentive service for a special birthday celebration!
We had a lovely breakfast at the restaurant but the service was a little light even though it didn't seem that crowded. The coffee was not refilled as often as I'd expect for breakfast/brunch service, and for several things that were lacking I found it difficult to find my server. I had the Farmers' Breakfast with toast, and the toast wasn't very toasted at all. The server indicated I'd receive jam with it, which I didn't, and I don't remember her asking if I needed anything else when the meals were delivered. I found I needed catsup for the potatoes and had to wait quite a while to find someone (one of the bus guys, I think)to bring me that and the "jam", which, although it was VERY DELICIOUS, was difficult to use and spread on the toast. The server was very pleasant and sweet, I just found that there was not as much follow up with or attention to our table as I would have expected after receiving our meals. Otherwise, I'd come back because otherwise the food, other aspects of the service, and atmosphere was wonderful.
The brunch was amazing. The Belgian waffle was the best waffle I’ve ever had.
