We've been to The Kitchen many times and have gone the previous three anniversary celebrations in a row. All of our previous visits have been absolutely stellar experiences and we couldn't rave enough to friends. Sadly, this time was just "meh."
No problem, everyone deserves an off night and we'll be back soon.

The Kitchen lives up to its extraordinary reputation. (Nope, I don't work there or know anyone who does.) The service is superb, the food is extraordinary, and everything about the place stands out. Yes, dress is casual.

Roasted mushrooms on toast was amazing -- I'm a meat eater and would still order this as an entrée again. My companion had ziti bolognese and said the pasta was done perfectly (and he's italian.) Grilled asparagus very flavorful, but roasted turnips not so much. Any dessert choice other than the sticky toffee pudding is wrong. It makes my all-time Top 10 list.

Our dining experience would have been more enjoyable if the Noise Level was not so loud. We had a wonderful waiter, the food was delicious, but we couldn't speak to eachother without having to speak loudly, which was a Mood Killer! It's unfortunate that they don't do anything about the noise issue. This definitely NEEDS to be addressed!!

This was my second visit, and it's been wonderful both times. Inventive cocktails, beautiful and artful preparation of vegetables (turnips were heaven!) and fresh pastas. And a really lovely vibe. Oh, and our server (forgot name--ach!!) was so pleasant.

Meh. It all seemed just average. Food wasn't bad but unremarkable. Just felt lackluster and overpriced. I just moved to Boulder from SF and heard this was the best restaurant in Boulder. It seems like it was once the best restaurant in Boulder but now that other restaurants like Arcana and Oak are on the scene they have actual competition. Again food wasn't bad, but if I'm going to pay $200 for two people I'm headed to Arcana.

This is our favorite restaurant in Boulder. Having dined here for years, the food and service have consistently been excellent. Though a bit pricey, worth every penny.

What a great experience! From the cheerful hostess to the two highly attentive waiters, Matt and Michael, to the amazing flavors on every plate of food we received, this was a dining experience for the ages. Started with an amazing cocktail from the bar. It was a mixture of Woodford Reserve green chartreuse and some orange zest. Moved on to the turnips, Fresh Prince Edward Island oysters and the burrata. The vinaigrette on the salad with the burrata was a perfect combination. I did not think that the oysters in Boulder Colorado could taste as fresh as they did but these tasted like they had just been harvested. Tempted by the amazing ribeye that I saw come out of the kitchen, but wanting something a bit lighter, I went with Michael's suggestion and ordered the salmon. It was perfectly cooked and the skin was seasoned so that you wanted to eat a pile of it rather than peel it and throw it away. There were two sauces that combined perfectly with the salmon to heighten its flavor and not overwhelm it. We completed the meal with the sticky toffee pudding topped with vanilla ice cream which tasted like the best pecan pie I had ever had. My wife and I were thoroughly satisfied and would never come back to Boulder without dining here. The Kitchen is a must for anyone who lives in or visits Boulder Colorado.

Maybe I was expecting too much, but I was a little disappointed. The time between appetizers and dinner was a little excessive. My pasta was dry and our server was not engaged. We were on vacation and The Kitchen was highly rated. Might try someplace different on a return trip to Boulder.

Farm to table is right! As hard as it is to admit, the bolognese was better than mine. Hubs had an amazing breakfast sammy. Just amazing. All the way around.
