Downtown Denver is all lit up for the holidays so that creates such a festive backdrop. The Kitchen has created some incredible dishes many of them locally harvested!!! Our server was informative and attentive. It was a Sunday night so it was quiet but the ambience was enjoyable. I can't wait to go back!
What a lovely review, thank you! So thoughtful of you to share your dining experience. Very glad to see you enjoyed everything, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
I booked this restaurant for a table of 8 to celebrate my husband's birthday. Everything was perfect. The service was outstanding. The food was diverse in that a couple of people in our group had food allergies. No problem. This restaurant can create dishes for what your food issues are. Anyway, I was extremely pleased with the whole atmosphere, service, and food quality. The restaurant was also quite and we could actually have conversations without shouting which is a huge plus. We will definitely be back to this restaurant.
Maureen, thank you for this review! Not only is it incredibly helpful for diners with food allergies or dietary preferences, but it makes us sincerely happy to see you enjoyed your dining experience. We look forward to seeing you again in the future!
The Kitchen was mostly a phenomenal experience. Our server was excellent and our food was what you would expect from a restaurant like this - it was great. My partner and I ordered the Ribeye (perfect) and the Pasta Bolognese (excellent). Our server was attentive, polite, and helpful. My main gripe is that we had noted that this was a special occasion on the reservation. While I did not expect anything special, it wasn’t a birthday, anniversary, etc, we were seated at maybe the worst table in the restaurant. Right next to the server’s station. I would have understood if it was busy and there was no other option, but this was very clearly not the case. It’s not a huge complaint, but for the amount of money that is being spent for a special occasion at an establishment that carries itself well, it was not ideal and does not show the kind of attention to detail and care that you might expect. Would give 4.5 stars if that was an option, I won’t be scared off from going or recommending, but I might reconsider for a place to impress.
Thank you for sending along some feedback! Our sincerest apologies the table wasn't to your liking. Please come see us again soon, we would love to rectify this. Thank you!
Thanksgiving dinner. The food was good but not great, and the price was pretty high.
We went here for their Thanksgiving dinner. They exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious. Servings generous. Service outstanding. Can’t wait to return.
Elizabeth, thank you so much for the kind words! We're very glad you enjoyed your visit with us and chose to share this special day with The Kitchen.
Thanksgiving PreSelected Menu - outstanding. Service was above excellent. Food was great. Will return.
Theresa, we're so happy you shared your Thanksgiving with us! Glad you enjoyed everything and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Maybe for Christmas Eve or NYE?!
Our whole dining experience on Thanksgiving was excellent. Service was great, atmosphere was festive, and the food was outstanding. I was very pleased with the entire experience. Thank you!
Went here for Thanksgiving dinner. Excellent staff and the food was delicious. Turkey was fabulous as was the stuffing, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, and desserts! Highly recommend!
What a great review to receive! Thank you so much for sharing your Thanksgiving with us, very happy to see you enjoyed your dining experience!
As always the menu was eclectic and interesting, the service excellent and the food was first rate.
Thank you, Charles! Very glad you enjoyed your dining experience, hope to see you again soon.
Nicely prepared food, good service, way too loud, but that is what restaurants think generates 'energy' or something like that-just frustrates this 73 year old. With hundreds of restaurants in this area, likely will seek a quieter one next time.
Never disappointed at The Kitchen. Had an important business luncheon and The Kitchen couldn't have handled things better.
Greg, thanks for the great review! We're so glad you enjoyed your dining experience at The Kitchen Denver. We look forward to seeing you again!
Always enjoy the food here. First time for brunch, and that also met our expectations. The service was efficient without being obtrusive. We'll be back!
Thanks for the great review and 5 stars, Dan! Sometimes, I think Brunch is our best kept secret. Please visit us again for lunch or dinner or maybe even Happy Hour!
I had family in town visiting so I took them to brunch here. The morning sweets were a big hit - we ordered the maple old fashioned doughnut, apple streusel coffee cake, and the pecan sticky bun to split among the table. The pecan sticky bun was a favorite. For our meal we asked for a recommendation and were told about the poached eggs (the name is misleading because it was really green shakshuka with two poached eggs on top). It was amazing and I would absolutely recommend it and go back for more.
Sarah, we're so glad you and your family enjoyed Brunch with us. Thanks for the great review and kind words! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
I usually love this place - and I feel like they often have exciting, new options. But, the last few times, the food options I feel are just..... OK... I feel like it's been a lot of the same in the past year or so. I really love this place... since the original's opening in Boulder - so it kind of makes me sad to write this review.
ONE PART OF OUR ORDER WAS FORGOTTEN AND WE ASKED ABOUT IT TWICE BUT IT STILL DID NOT ARRIVE. WHEN THE BILL CAME WE WERE TOLD THAT WE HAD NOT BEEN CHARGED FOR IT!
NO CONVINCING APOLOGY.
Hostess could not find my reservation, but my guest was seated at my table. We sat at different tables for 15 minutes despite the fact I went back to try and find him. Hostess was not interested in helping me.
Great food. Wonderful venue. Fabulous service from Chase!
Second time here and we'll definitely be back. The salmon was exquisite. As was the bolognese. We'll be back.
Food was very good and the service was excellent! It was chilly outside and cool in the restaurant...a bit too cool for us. Overall we had a very nice night!
There was a hair in my hashbrowns, which isn't the biggest deal, things happen, I worked in restaurants before. I kindly told the waitress quietly and she said she'd bring me another. She took forever to give me the new one and then charged me for both!!! And when I asked her to take it off she was snooty and still charged me for one, which is fine, but if I find a hair in my food I don't want to pay for it, even if I get a new one.
Shared table with six others, ages ranging from 35 - 70. Ordered and shared every small plate on the menu and four different bottles of red wine. Food was well seasoned and very well presented. All dishes were great - fish tacos, shrimp hushpuppies, tomato soup and beets got second orders.
Terrific meal, disappointing service. We were seated at 5:45 and at 6 we still hadn’t been greeted by a server. We asked the hostess if she could find us a server but she wasn’t very interested and kept chatting with the other hostess for a while before finally finding our server. When he came over he didn’t apologize or offer any type of explanation. Unfortunately his cold demeanor didn’t improve the rest of the meal.
Such a fun place to celebrate your anniversary!! They gave us a free glass of bubbly & signed a card for us! Just mention that it’s your anniversary when you book the res through open table. Food, service, ambiance was perfect!!!! GO EAT HERE
Lovely ambiance. Great, friendly service and fabulous food.
Thank you for the great review! Glad you had a nice dining experience with us! - Niki
The Kitchen American Bistro has always and consistently provided a place for my wife and me to enjoy our time together without being distracted by poor service or tasteless food. Thanks!
Thanks, Kenneth! We're so happy and flattered you and your wife choose us out of so many dining options in Denver. Thank you for your kinds words and continued patronage! - Niki
The service was fine. Most of the dishes were
Fine but my bass was extremely salty. The menu is limited and lacks imagination
We had friends in town and we wanted to surprise him with a bday celebration despite being 3 weeks early. Your staff seated us at the best table (corner with two windows). Our server (amí...I think) was on point all night with great recommendations from start to finish. We had chosen The Kitchen for this event because we knew we could always count on a great experience and you did not disappoint. Thank you.
Thanks, Wade! We're so glad we could make this occasion special and memorable. Thank you again for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. Hopefully, we see you again soon! - Niki
Wonderful dinner and service, as always. I have celiac and The Kitchen is always warmly accommodating. We had a delicious flourless chocolate and hazelnut dessert, that I hope will be a permanent addition to the menu. Thank you for being our favorite restaurant in Denver.
We've eaten here many times over the years. I'll try it again for dinner, but never again for brunch. Here's why. This was our first negative experience at the restaurant. It was Sunday brunch around 2 p.m. Staff were very gracious but disorganized (looked short-staffed, confusion over who ordered what, mistake on the bill). Food quality was fair, but below what we have come to expect. Shrimp hushpuppies were delicious and an entertaining twist on the old theme. Mushrooms and eggs on brioche was a hot mess -- too rich and too salty. One of their other delicious breads might be a better choice for the bed. Salad that came with it was heavily decorated with (unnecessary) salt. Shrimp and grits was also over-salted -- like some kind of excuse for not working on the flavor profile.
Great location for lunch prior to a matinee at the Denver Performing Arts C. Love the food, service and atmosphere.
Trish, thank you for the awesome review! We're so glad we provided you with a great dining experience. Being located right on the 16th Street Mall definitely has it's perks. You can grab a bite and get to the Theater in a flash! Come see us again soon! - Niki
I love this restaurant. Normally, I go to the Boulder one, but denver did not disappoint. The pork belly skewer appetizer was possibly the best pork appetizer we've ever had. That's saying a lot. My salmon entree with crispy skin was delicious. Our really nice waiter was knowledgable about wine, which was important to two in our group. I wish I could remember his name. Two of us are gluten free, and the Kitchen is great at dealing with GF, vegan, etc.
Nadja, thank you for this amazing review and for taking the time to speak about your dining experience at The Kitchen Denver! So glad you enjoyed everything. We look forward to seeing you again! - Niki
We had an outside table which created a wonderful ambiance. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals. I would highly recommend the salmon accompanied by the green beans. The hummus and vegetables was also very good.
Delicious! Beautiful space and excellent service.
Hadn't been here in several months. Was really disappointed by the food. Ordered the striped bass, and it was just super dry. The super spicy sauce was way too spicy and did not go well with the fish. Ordered a side which was just ok. My husband ordered the chicken. Nothing exceptional. We ordered one dessert to share - super sugary and again nothing exceptional. Overall a pretty bland experience and not what we had experienced here in the past! Disappointed by the quality of the food and the value. The wine selection was as I remembered, so no complaints there.
My family came into town to visit and the Kitchen is our go to stop for guests! We are never disappointed with a meal here. Our server, Riley, was over the top incredible! We cannot wait to come back, and we will be back soon!
Fantastic service from a wait staff that knows the menu very well. Food was hot and excellent. Portions were smaller than average by American standards.
Whenever I'm in Denver, I try to go to the Kitchen. The offerings are eclectic and always fresh. This visit, I had a Mediterranean fish that was excellent. The waitress was friendly and professional as well as knowledgeable. This is a consistently excellent spot for dinner or lunch. The wine list is very good. Maureen was our wait person.
Sat at the bar, wine, three courses of food and out in 45 minutes. Server had no clue, entree was cold. Not quite sure how that happens when they are removing one course with left hand and serving next with right. Highly recommended to me, but I wouldn’t do the same. Server realized he messed up and corrected the situation by further ignoring us. Will not go back or recommend.
Excellent in every way. The best in Denver. LoDo is better than Boulder location, in my opinion.
Nice modern vibe on the Denver pedestrian street. Good happy hour specials. Seating was a bit cramped; I was seated next to a larger work group and it was a tight fit. There were other seats farther away where they could have sat us. Also, the server didn't know about whether peppers or chilis where in a dish. They were definitely present and I left them behind; often this ruins the entire dish for me. Happy hour wine was a good value
