About
Very creative and tasty food. Simple menu, no deserts. Place is cozy and beautiful.
Good food good service, great river views and atmosphere
I love this place and have never had a bad experience in at least 5 visits. It's become my go-to when entertaining a group of clients or friends from out of town. Can't wait until the weather improves so I can come back and enjoy the outdoor seating. Food was delicious and portions perfect. Wine pairings excellent. Impeccable service. Highly recommend!
Ive been to Kitchen and enjoyed it several times before but was very disappointed in dinner recently. Three of us went there for dinner on a Thursday night but the restaurant was almost empty. The waiter couldn't have been less interested in serving or interacting with us. Zero effort made by him. That lack of effort makes a big difference in the experience.
as for the food: The Brussels sprouts appetizers were good -not awesome but good. The salmon I and another friend had came on a bed of grapefruit and was also fine but a little lost in the flavor. Only ONE glass of wine each and three coffees and we paid more than $200. That's way too much for a very forgettable meal.
The Kitchen did not disappoint at lunch. It is loud in the restaurant but not intolerable. The food was good as I've come to expect after several previous visits. The staff was very professional and polite. I'll return.
Great service and attentiveness. Food quality was good, but pricey. The ambiance and vibe set a pleasant mood. We will return.
I booked the restaurant in the last minute. I’m happy that I can get a seat with seeing the river. Wine choice is great
I love every second of the experience.
The restaurant is beautiful and has a lot of industrial decor. Their service was superb as well as their drinks. They have large tables for bigger groups too. I’d go again.
Excellent service, our server was very accomodating and helpful making great suggestions and getting us in and out on time since we had a show we were going to.
I thought the food could have been better. I was there for lunch and was expecting more. Service was great. The seating where one party is in a chair and the other party is on the padded bench is awkward. The person on the bench is sitting quite a bit lower which makes things weird.
Great food!
We were the only ones in the place on a Sunday night (last night of Restaurant Week), so we sat at the bar. Service was excellent, very accommodating on food restrictions, chef even came out to meet us. With location on the river, would think it is busy come Summer.
The food and drinks were great. The service was wonderful and they made nice substitutions for our Vegan food preference. Menu is a little pricey but very fresh food.
Service staff was nice but slow slow slow. We ordered the Brunch tasting menu. I had the Hummus for a appetizer and the fish tacos for the entree. The entree was two very tiny fish tacos wrapped in lettuce which was wilted as the fish was so hot. Mean while a friend had the Burger and it was enormous. We all ordered bloody mary's and they tasted like pickle juice. For those of us with starters the servers would bring those and then the entree for the other people so when it came time for our entree half the table had already ate. The restaurant was not even busy during this time so not sure why things were so un organized. Tried to book private dinning twice but no one would send me menus or get back in touch so booked our party of 12 on Open table. I should have let the lack of response be my 1st sign not to dine here. Sad as our office use to be next door and we would come here often but it sure has gone down hill.
Went for brunch on Saturday and both the food and service were excellent. I had the farmers breakfast and my husband had the cheeseburger. Both were great choices. Definitely recommend this place and love their commitment to local food sources.
The Restaurant Week menu was a great value. Even without that, I'd definitely recommend this place for business meetings.
I ordered the pork carnitas sandwich , it was dry , the side salad undressed , and the 8 or so fat fries that were served with it undercooked. My dining companion liked his salmon dish.
Food was decent, but incredibly limited options. Also the food was overpriced: $6.50 for a side of bacon with only three small strips. No thanks!
I love the quality of the food at the Kitchen. However, I was disappointed at the lack of variation in the menu. I was at the Kitchen 6 months ago and it was very similar. I also felt the staff was rushing us too much.
Loved the local food items. Love, love, loved the Shrimp hushpuppies. Especially enjoyed our server, Ndidi. Not only does she have a unique name, (we had to ask her to spell it), but a very cordial and unique way of making sure we were well taken care of from the time we entered and through every course.
Went on a Monday night for restaurant week. Great selections for restaurant week. The meatballs are a must get. I'm not sure if the price point is there but it's a great vibe and is very fun for brunch as well. Right by the river so it's very pretty any time of day!
Went for brunch and everything was delicious. Greta service and ambiance
Great happy hour menu.
Went here for a business dinner, server had no personality, food was very average and over priced. It’s a cute place but too many other good restaurants in chicago
Great view overlooking water. Average food. I ordered kale salad, which lacked overall flavor as did the sandwich my fiancé ordered. Bread wasn’t toasted, and the sandwich was overpowered by so much untoasted bread. Hushpuppies and blueberry coffee cake were delicious.
Went for Sunday brunch. The food was outstanding. They have a good variety of choices for food and drinks. Truly one of the best brunches I've had in Chicago.
This is our go-to place and it never disappoints. We had a delicious brunch and will go back again
Excellent food, service, location and ambiance.
Overpriced for the amount of food.
Decorating so cute for the holidays. The bartender was attentive and same with our server.
Food was good and drinks were good.
Didn’t feel rushed. Plus the soaps in the bathroom were great! Several of us commented on that 😀
Great great great. Amazing food and location and such nice staff to families with kids.
We know we can rely on this restaurant. It just doesn’t matter when we go – we can get great beverages, fresh and delicious food combinations, outstanding desserts – it just never misses. Totally reliable and comfortable - with a great view of the river!
My out of town family and I went there after visiting Millennium Park and seeing other sights this holiday season. We went at an off time so the service was excellent. Our server Esther was friendly and answered all of our questions. My nieces loved the decor and being able to look out at the river. Our cocktails were tasty and the one (Basil’s Last Word) was so pretty. The food was delicious and we will be back.
We liked this place overall. Food was good, rib eye was to die for. We decide to go family style and share everything and that worked well. Portions could be bigger especially since everything is a la carte. We were hungry because it was late and asked for bread, but 2 different servers say they didn't have any even though we could see stacks of it in the kitchen. Finally the second server brought us some flat bread type crackers which were fine, might be a good idea to bring out in the first place to keep peeps happy. Overall very nice!
This was our first visit. Outstanding meal as well as very fine service
We will be back
Good for first dates etc. Not to have a nice hearty meal. Drinks are very basic and costly. Staff is very pleasant and sweet.
Great food, some fun dishes to share. Crisp cold salads. Yummy shrimp hushpuppies. Amazing porkchop, perfect scallops and roasted brussel sprouts. A little bubbly to drink. Great attentive service. Oh and sticky toffee pudding. Wow!
The food was good, beside the steak
First it came raw and then it was burned and no taste at all
Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
