We had the most spectacular dinner date last night at The Kingstide, and I can’t stop raving about it! I ordered the snapper with butter bean succotash, grilled zucchini, and the most heavenly roasted carrots I've ever tasted. Each bite was a symphony of Southern elegance and coastal flair. My husband had the grilled tuna, perfectly paired with gigante beans, wood-fired cherry tomatoes, fennel, romesco, and asparagus — every element was bright, fresh, and expertly prepared. And let’s not forget the cocktail. I had “The Hurt Doctor,” and oh my stars, it was the citrusy, tropical daydream I didn’t know I needed — Mt. Gay Rum with pineapple, orange, coconut, and nutmeg. Light, refreshing, and the perfect complement to a golden-hour water view. Speaking of views — breathtaking. Watching the sun melt into the water while enjoying a perfect meal made the evening feel like a little slice of vacation right here at home. The service was gracious and attentive, and the ambiance strikes that perfect balance between upscale and easygoing. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Run, don’t walk. The Kingstide is a gem on the water!

Laura, Thank you so much for your raving reviews and your kind words. I am so thrilled to hear that you had the most spectacular dinner date here with us at the Kingstide! I love the succotash that comes with the snapper as well. I am so glad you loved the grilled tuna as well. That was one of our additions to our spring/summer menu! The hurt doctor truly is tropical and delicious; it really does compliment the ambiance and that beautiful water view. I am so happy to hear that your service was so gracious and attentive. I do hope that you come to the Kingstide again real soon and often! I love that you think Kingstide is a gem as I do. Please visit soon. Jacqueline Dornick, Assistant General Manager

We went to Kingstide w high expectations and left somewhat disappointed. My wife and I were celebrating an anniversary and decided to put Kingstide on our agenda for dining while in the Charleston area. It had great reviews and was in a wonderful location there on Daniel Island. We stated w She Crab soup and a Ceasar salad- both of which were very well prepared. Probably the best She Crab soup I’ve ever had! With much anticipation for the upcoming entrees we were disappointed by the next dishes in the main course. I had the lobster pasta. The lobster was good; meaty and tender but the mushrooms overwhelmed the flavor of the dish and the past was very bland. My wife had the blackened grouper on grits. Blackening usually means the flavor of the seasoning and not the texture of the meat. The grouper was over prepared and had a hard crust of blackened seasoning covering it. Not at all appetizing and quite frankly it took away from the quality of the fish. We did finish up w the lemon/blueberry crème brûlée which was very nice. Our server must have sensed our disappointment. However he was absolutely excellent in his ability to provide for us a nice dining experience. Great atmosphere and location. Excellent beginnings and finishing of the meal but the main dishes did disappoint.

Our server was fantastic! We were there with our two very young nieces, which can be challenging, and he was absolutely wonderful with them. Food was also great. We’ll definitely be back!
