romesco, field peas
celery, herbs, tobiko, brioche
A great place for a date night meal. We had a wonderful conversation without having to fight the ambient noise. Food was delicious and the staff was exceptional.
Sorry for this review, but experience was sadly poor. Food did not meet expectations in any dish. Pricey but not satisfactory. Server was not well-trained for fine dining.
Wait staff very professional and knowledgeable. Food delivered quickly and all the dishes were very good.
Personally I like live music. The food is great. The view is only visible if you are in a certain area because the booths are too isolated. I like a place where I can see and be seen and where there is a buzz of live music. I hear there is music in the summer upstairs. Thats all well and good but maybe during the winter when things are slow why not jazz it up a bit with a little jazz? Sure would be the icing on the cake otherwise it is just another place with good food.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Kingstide to celebrate a friend's birthday. Overall, food and service were outstanding. However, the noise level is extremely high in the restaurant and at times I couldn't even hear the table conversation with only 5 people. Improvements to noise would drastically improve the overall experience. The aesthetic and views are phenomenal and coastal.
We tried appetizers, entrees and desserts. I highly recommend the burrata and the cauliflower for appetizers. The fish sliders are also tender and tasty. For entrees, we really enjoyed the tuna and the agnolotti. Finally, for dessert we had the flourless cake with a delicious sorbet topping, the cheesecake and the cookies and cream ice cream sandwich. Thanks for a great evening!
Very hard to carry on a conversation, once the venue started filling up.
Seafood is their specialty. the daily fish is always good as are their oysters. highly suggest a few sides to share with the table; sprouts, sweet potatoes and fries are our favorites. Burrata to start never gets complaints, same with the brownie to top it off!
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and menu options at Kingstide. It is a must-visit for some of the best unique seafood dishes in Charleston!
Our reserved indoor table was waiting for us, although it took a little time to be seated due to a person ahead of conversing with the hostess for several minutes. We immediately noticed the high noise level upon entering the restaurant due to the wood flooring, wood ceiling and lots of glass windows. The high noise level continued throughout the course of the dinner, so that we both had to speak in raised voices to hear one another. Disappointing!
Salad and seafood dishes for dinner were good. Would have preferred my lobster entree to be served warm on a chilly evening but was told that was not an option. Our server Lisa was pleasant and efficient.
We'll probably wait for warmer weather before returning to dine here...outdoors!
Kingstide has definitely stepped it up a few notches since they opened last year. We ordered the marinated octopus and it was the best I've ever had. For an appetizer, we ordered a sampler of a dozen oysters which were ultra-fresh and delicious. Our server was Dalton and he did a fantastic job. So thankful to have this wonderful restaurant on Daniel Island!
The staff was friendly and professional. The service was considerate and comfortable. And the food was DELICIOUS!
Had the lobster Cobb, the steak, Brussels and tried all the aioli. It was amazing and even got dessert which we normally don’t do, the choc flourless cake was really good. The wonderful waitress jaqueline brought us champagne too. Will be back for sure!
First time eating here. It was a business meal with three customers and a coworker. The tuna entre was outstanding. Staff was attentive, courteous, and helpful.
The only negative was the noise. We arrived for a 545PM seating and the restaurant was quiet. However, the restaurant soon filled and the music volume was increased. Combined with the high ceilings, wooden floors, etc, it became very difficult to communicate. My one suggestion is to lower the music volume, or even better, turn it OFF when the restaurant is busy.
Otherwise, great job!
Lack of interesting menu options, and general lack of flavor
Outdoor dining, weather permitting, is the best. Only complaint is noise level too high indoors. We will continue to dine at Kingstide when outdoor dining is available.
Awesome experience, very friendly staff. Will go back soon!
Just very disappointing
Nice atmosphere and service but the food was too rich for me and it’s pricey. Neat bar upstairs.
Great service! Carlene, our server was terrific. Must haves - the grilled octopus app, the burrata was delicious. We had the swordfish was delicious and perfectly prepared, as was the squash agnolotti! Dining area was a bit loud~ busy night with all tables full. We look forward to coming back to enjoy cocktails at the rooftop open bar area and to explore Daniel Island!
Hostess went out of her way to accommodate our group, loved our server and food
Our dining experience was exceptional — both the meal and level of service exceeded our expectations!
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT AMBIANCE! I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT!
Great restaurant with relaxed vibe and amazing food
Joe and his team are fantastic!
Very cute place with great ambiance. Food was outstanding. Manager David is wonderful.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The indoor dining area is open and airy with very tasteful decor.
Portions seemed a little small but everything was delicious. And as always- great service and fantastic views.
The best brussel sprouts I ever tasted! Staff are friendly and very attentive
The low country soup was very tasty but heavy on potatoes with a few clams. The brussel sprouts were burnt and the crab fried rice was very salty with microscopic pieces of clam. Like everywhere they must have been short on help. We waited a long time for our food even though we had a 5pm reservation thinking it would be less crowded.
Well, I suppose after all the hype about this restaurant, with lovely views of the water, and great food, etc, I was expecting something clearly a 5 star rating. Well, it sure did disappoint. We ordered a marguerita, that was one of the worst ones we have ever had. Our server spoke so fast that we were exhausted from trying to understand and hear what he said. The dinner was a bit underwhelming. Now maybe in the daytime, one could marvel at the lovely view, that is if there will be a next time.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. The service and food was great. The outdoor dining was perfect. Highly recommend the octopus and swordfish.
Very nice dinner with family
Food was wonderful and the atmosphere was very romantic
We will definitely be back again the food was outstanding and we went for Christmas Eve!!
Great experience, food, and service. Will definitely be back.
fabulous food, fabulous people, fabulous vibe~ a foodie heaven!
An amazing dinner. Oysters Rockefeller and Triggerfish Special were fantastic. Great martinis, too!!
The wait staff at Kingstide is the best!!! They need a raise and a Christmas bonus!!
My family went on December 23rd. People were very nice. Bartender made tasty cocktails. I was disappointed with the Chef not being able to modify food for dairy free dietary restrictions. I would go back but not with anyone with dietary restrictions.
The food was great, very unique, and the service was phenomenal! It was a bit 'clattery' though
