A good place for some very good home style southern cooking. The side dishes are outstanding!

We had the fried oysters appetizer which were the best I've ever had. I had the scallops which were outstanding and my wife had a crispy flounder special. All of the food was excellent with flavors that made you savor every bite. We split the apple pie with vanilla ice cream which was very good, but the pie was room temperature instead of warm...that was our only disappointment for the entire meal. One thing to note is they do not serve cocktails, but do have beer and wine. We enthusiastically recommend this restaurant which is a "Non-Profit" and we will be back the next time we are in Charlotte.

The food was great. Our server was excellent. The noise level was loud so trying to have a romantic dinner was interrupted.

I have been to King’s Kitchen a number of times over the years. The food is always excellent & Wednesday night was no exception. I also enjoy going to the King’s Kitchen to support their mission & always make an extra contribution to support this effort. Thank you Jim Noble for making a difference in so many lives while providing us with such excellent food.

We have known about the King's Kitchen for years but living out of town we have just not gone there until this Thankgiving Eve visit. We were pleasantly surprised at both the level of gourmet dining and professional service. We spent a pleasant evening enjoying schrimp and grits prepared with just the right amount of "heat" and perfectly sauteed scallops we have to say that were the best we have ever had. Our waiter could not have been more helpful or knowledgable. We were blessed to eat there.
We will certainly return.

The food and service were excellent! I had dinner here with a friend I was meeting for the first time. I chose this restaurant on a whim, and I am so glad I did. I will definitely be back when I am in Charlotte.

We had a large party (8ppl) and tried multiple times to call for the reservation, but the phone call was cut off each time. We ended up booking 2 parties of 4 on Open Table and then asking the restaurant in person if they could push the tables together. Instead of accommodating our request straightaway, the host was immediately defensive and wanted to know what phone number we called (it was the same one posted on Open Table and the restaurant's website). We didn't blame anyone at the restaurant for the phone failure, so the appropriate thing would simply be to see if he could accommodate our table request instead of being defensive or shifting blame. But other than that, all of the rest of the staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly, so we would be more than happy to dine here again.

Stopped in a few minutes after 5pm, and were promptly seated back by the kitchen, despite being the first to dine. Waitress was not engaged, and barely made eye contact. She did her job and was relatively attentive, but almost robotic in her demeanor.

Food was good, but not deserving the rave reviews we read. Fried chicken was a little tough, but nice flavor. Sides were pretty standard. Exception was Mac and Cheese, which held up well.

Offered dessert menu and asked for Banana Pudding. Was told it had sold out at 5:45pm. She then offered that the chef was trying something new and it didn't work.

No other desserts suggested, just brought us our bill.

Again, all was ok, but we'll check out other choices in the future before returning.

We were attending a conference and wanted to experience Charlotte cuisine. The catfish I had was delicious, the waiter was charming and efficient. We had originally had four people, but three other colleagues showed up and our waiter accommodated us. It was a lovely evening. Dr. Dorothy Sisk

An easy way to sample the best of The South’s culinary classics. Leave a big tip - all of the profits go to fight homelessness and provide job training.

Great food at a fair price considering the profits go to a great cause. The shrimp & grits were the best I’ve had since eating them in Charleston for the first time years ago! Will definitely order them again. Pork chop had a nice char and was very tasty. Outstanding service by Kiara!

King's Kitchen is a great spot for lunch or dinner. All items on menu are prepared just for you, vegetables selection is impressive. I had the Red Snapper which was well prepared and very tasty. Everything is great. Service is top notch. In addition to the best food and service, all profits at this restaurant go to help the less fortunate in the community. Always a great meal - thanks to Jim Noble!

The pan fried chicken did not live up to the hype. While the coating was very tasty the actual meat itself had NO TASTE!Also, for the cost of dessert the proportion were horrible. One scoop of ice cream for $10. Outrageous! To be a Charlotte hotspot I was saddened by the experience I had. I am proud to support the overall mission but I will not be returning again.

Excellent food. The idea of it being a non profit restaurant intrigued us. The owner is trully a good person. They service to the homeless with Sunday service and feeds them too. More restaurants should attempt this type of restaurant. Food was delicious and service was great.

I've been to The Kings Kitchen once before and had to share the experience with my friend from out of town. He loved it and said he could not believe that such a gourmet experience would also serve a great purpose. If you haven't been you owe it to yourself to go.

A group of friends attending a convention in Charlotte enjoyed dinner there after our meeting for the day. We sat on the outdoor patio which was very comfortable. However, noise from the street traffic made conversation difficult at times. Otherwise we really enjoyed the meal and the service. Very pleasant experience!
