Excellent food and service.
We were pretty late for our reservation, but they were able to get us a seat without a problem. The beer list was pretty good (something for everyone), and the daily specials looked delicious. However, by 7:00 on Saturday, they had run out of spinach and artichoke dip and white meat fried chicken. The service was a little slow, which wasn't a problem as we weren't in a huge hurry. However, the food was a little disappointing. My husband had the shrimp and grits, and the portion was pretty tiny for $19. I had the pot roast, which was pretty dry and wasn't served with any ju or gravy on it. The jalapeno hushpuppies were REALLY good (the butter served with them was divine!) and the pimento cheese was great for an appetizer.
Amazing food!
Great atmosphere!
Will definitely go back
It was my first time here and I was impressed. My friend and I sat outside and loved it. I had the fried chichen sandwich with butter beans. The service could have been better but I've had worse. Well be back!
What a great restaurant with a worthy cause! The food was excellent and the fact that all profits go to help people who are homeless or living in poverty was an extra bonus. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Charlotte.
Excellent food. Very noisy.
Great food and a great concept. I have to recommend the shrimp and grits, it was amazing. Next time I go back I want to try the pimento cheese.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food, service and the mission cause are all wonderful! You won't be disappointed.
Lunch with family
Visiting Charlotte. Dinner early with Kids at 6:30. Seemed quiet but more people entered as we ate.
Awesome food! I love the mission of the restaurant. Food quality and service was better than expected. Best meal during my stay in Charlotte!
Special lunch with elderly Mom. Kings Kitchen is ideally located one block from the center of Uptown and has great outdoor patio area. The mission is unparalleled and the food equals this high standard! You feel good and eat good - great combination! Fabulous comfort food, but also great healthy options - super fresh spinach and asparagus salad, awesome soups. Great, friendly service. And... all to serve the great mission of helping homeless return to successful employment. Awesome!
Tried out King's Kitchen for the first time after living in Charlotte for more than a year. Tomato soup was delish! The scallops were a bit spicy/peppered for my tastes but a good value at $22. I would definitely go back.
A 5-star restaurant with affordable, delicious meals in a comfortable atmosphere! The service was fantastic and we highly recommend our waiter, Paul. The portions were precise and all was delicious. We will come back for sure. We love that this place is not-for-profit and helps their local community 100%.
Great food. Staff was attentive!! Love it here!!
I have always been a fan of King's Kitchen and its mission--feed people and they eat for a day...teach them to fish and they eat for their entire lives! So, I resonate with the mission almost as much as I relate to Aunt Beaute's fried chicken. Great as always and a classic, Southern Meat-and-Three. With creamed corn, creamed potatoes and gravy, butter beans and collard greens, this is a fantastic lunch!
Great cause and great food!!
Very intimate dining experience and the food was excellent.
Fantastic. We told all of our Co-workers at our conference this past weekend. It is a wonderful place with a beautiful community focus.
This is an awesome Restaurant! The food is authentic and very good! 5 stars. This is a nonprofit that is doing great things for their city, employees and patrons! I would recommend reading about their story of why they started the restaurant. Every person attending the restaurant purchasing a meal, feeds 4-5 needy people. It was a great
I was at King's Kitchen a few days ago for a small business meal and the service was great! We moved our reservation a couple times and the host was very accommodating. Our waiter was very personable, friendly, and accommodating as well. If we asked questions that he didn't know the answer to he made the effort to find out (not every server does that!). I am on a low carb diet, so I ordered the seared scallops with brussel sprouts. I specified the vegetables needed to be sautéed in olive oil (not vegetable oil) and to not use too much oil. The kitchen made the meal to order and it was delicious! Those brussel sprouts were the best I've ever had! A little bacon in there too definitely helped. Highly recommend this place!
I love the mission, the ambiance and the food! I had dinner my first night at a 2 day conference and recommended it to many people at the conference some of whom chose to eat there and enjoyed their meal as well. I wish I had gone back the second night - so much to choose from!
EXCELLENT!! Food was so good. I was visiting Charlotte and looked on line and found The Kings Kitchen
The food and the service are outstanding. There is a moderate noise level which can be attributed to happy, satisfied people enjoying themselves. I have recommended this restaurant to so many friends and they all have said how much they appreciated my sharing. It’s a mission and so much more. Do not miss this special dining opportunity.
Was recommended by someone. Had to thank them for the great recommendation
Food was excellent. Only exception was average banana pudding desert. Service was outstanding.
I was extremely blessed by my experience at the King's kitchen and even was able to experience their daily Bible Study for the homeless. The food, staff, and ambience were all outstanding.
Whenever I’m in Charlotte, a meal at King’s Kitchen is a must. Southern cuisine done very well for a very good cause. And they hire amazing staff. You eat well and are treated well all in a good cause. What can be better than that?
My Italian clients loved the shrimp and grits!
I went to Kings Kitchen with my 18 year old daughter, her friend and her friends mom. Between the 4 of us, we had the pot roast, shrimp and grits, and scallops. We ALL enjoyed our meals. We would HIGHLY recommend and will be returning.
I've been for lunch and loved it. I also have been with a large group with a customized menu and it was good. However, Friday night I was not impressed. The cornbread was extremely dry, the fish was mediocre at best, and the Duck was tough. It was not worth $80 but love the mission of the restaurant. It was our anniversary. We didn't eat most of the food and ended up going to Mortons to share a meal and dessert after. Very disappointed. I would only go back with a group or lunch. Service was good though.
Delicious food in a casual setting. Varied menu with something for just about everyone. Dessert was good too.
I went to The King’s Kitchen with my boyfriend. It was AMAZING. We had the smoked wings for an appetizer. He had a burger while I enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Our waitress was very nice as well. Well done!
Do good and eat well. Southern Food kitchen that strives to feed the hungry. Loved the mission and menu looked great.
Had Pimento cheese, hush puppies and fried oysters for apps. Oysters stole the show (think New Orleans good) but the other two were solid .
Shrimp and grits featured cheesy, creamy grits and nicely done shrimp with asparagus chunks. Perfect dinner size. Others at the table had variations of meat and three. Everyone enjoyed the meals.
Bar and restaurant are trendy casual. Good beer and wine selection - no hard liquor.
Great spot for a business meal.
The best!! Came for the CIAA Tournament and checked this place out. Everything was delicious and the customer service was phenomenal!! I will definitely be going back the next time I visit Charlotte!!
Food and service were great. I highly recommend this place.
Great food, great service. Easy and not too loud. Highly recommend!
We visited here for my 30th birthday. Our sever Kiara was amazing. She was knowledgeable, accommodating, and fun. Our food was fabulous and we were able to enjoy an appetizer, drinks, meals, and dessert for under $100. Will definitely go again!!!!
A delightful evening and a delicious meal. You need to go! They are fabulous!
Amazing overall - went with a 9 top of chefs and we sampled the whole menus practically.
