The King's Kitchen
Whether you sit down to a heaping plate of Aunt Beaut’s pan fried chicken or opt for our Chef’s pick of fresh fish daily, know that here, our cuisine extends well beyond delicious: it is truly good for the soul.
Located in the heart of uptown Charlotte with a mission of bringing hope to those most in need, King’s Kitchen is a non-profit, southern-inspired restaurant that doubles as a ministry to give hope, dignity and a warm meal to those most in need. Dine well knowing that each meal purchased directly contributes to a free meal to our homeless neighbors as well as job training to give others a new lease on life.
The ambience of the restaurant was nice, and the service was decent. However, the food wasn’t the greatest, particularly because it wasn’t fresh (made to order) but instead precooked prior to the restaurant opening.
Great food. Good atmosphere.
Excellent service, food, and ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
First visit and it was a hit with our party of 6. Will be back soon!
This was our second time visiting this restaurant. We were very satisfied with the experience. The service and servers were pleasant and the food wonderful. It's close to the Belk Theater and other Uptown activities, or just a good place to stop in after work. The management pays a visit to each table, which is appreciated.
Our food was excellent, the waiter was outstanding and the fact that 100% of the profits go to feed the hungry locally made it even better!
Great food and great cause. I recommend the restaurant to anyone wanting good food and a relaxed atmosphere.
Great selection of vegetables and southern inspired dishes. Hearty salads. Great service - very friendly and knowledgeable. Food came out very quickly, but we never felt rushed.
My wife and I were first time diners. We weren't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The NY Strip was prepared perfectly and was better than any steak restaurant including Ruth Chris. My wife ordered the pork roast and it was also excellent. The entire meal was great including the coconut cake we had for desert. We would recommend the Kings Kitchen to anyone looking for a great meal.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was delicious, everyone in my dinner party raved about how good their selection was. I will definitely make The Kings Kitchen a favorite stop when I am in the area.
This is a wonderful place! The food and service was fabulous. The interior is lovely and tastefully decorated. Through no fault of the restaurant, there is a lot of construction going on outside the restaurant, in every direction. The place has terrific windows, but any great views are obscured with with scaffolding and other construction equipment. I hope to visit again, when construction is complete.
Our waitress was very good and accommodating with pleasant personality. Helped start our evening off nicely. The food was very good and savory. I will be back
Food was absolutely incredible! From the appetizer (crab dip) to the entrees (scallops and pot roast)... everything was delicious. Throw the sides in and you have southern comfort food at its finest. Good drink choices too! Service was exceptional as well... very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be dining at King’s Kitchen again!
My coworker is new the area and we walked down to Kings Kitchen as she wanted some southern food. Not only was the food great but the service was on point. And the mission behind the Kings Kitchen just made it that much better. Thanks for a great experience!
The King's Kitchen combines good food and a good purpose in uptown Charlotte. My wife had the seared scallops which were prepared perfectly and served with a refreshing Waldorf-style salad. I had the pan fried chicken with three sides and again, it was well prepared and the creamed potatoes were excellent. I would definitely recommend The King's Kitchen to a friend.
Good not great food for a great cause.
The food was good!
Yes, we loved the experience and the commitment the restaurant has to the community! Amazing!
I was told after I left this place provides a second chance to those who may have had troubled past. If this is true I believe this place is more marvelous than it already is.
We love the kings kitchen! It’s a go to anytime we’re in the Charlotte area!
The food was incredible and the service was amazing!! I highly recommend this restaurant
My son and I came to town for the football game. We started walking around and came across this restaurant. We love it. The food was delicious and such a good variety. The prices were good and the customer service was excellent. We had to take food home, we had so much. I love that they give back to the community and have Bible Studies. Just a great experience and I will highly recommend it to anyone.
Delicious! I’ve already recommended to friend visiting Charlotte today.
Love the food, the service, the mission statement and atmosphere!!!!
The Kings Kitchen has the best food and service in Charlotte! You need to experience this nicely casual atmosphere with the best service and mission in Charlotte!
Great food by a wonderful organization. Absolutely recommend
Great food and great service for a great cause.
Food and service were great. It did get quite loud toward the noon time frame for lunch, and it became hard to have good conversation.
Excellent service. Much better service at King's Kitchen than their brother restaurant, Rooster's in Uptown.
Pretty ordinary food. Nice waiter. Good cause however.
The food was excellent and, by far the fastest service I’ve ever had. The roast beef was a little bit dry in parts, but the flavor was excellent. Good chance we’ll return in the future.
Great food and service! The mac and cheese was delicious!
Menu was pricey. I ordered salmon for 20.00 and
i had to add sides for additional 4.00 each. Two kids had shrimp and grits for 22.00 each. They complained because the dish was bland and the portion was small. I had to order more food for them. My partner had tomato bisque soup which was delicious and a salad which was horrible (bland). I paid over 100.00 for mediocre food for four. Next time we will go to our favorite spot....Mimosa Grilll.
We shared a salad, the pot roast and coconut cake. It was delicious!
Food was well-prepared and served. Since we were celebrating an anniversary, we treated ourselves to dessert -- an incredibly delicious piece of coconut cake. The business model of buying local and giving back to the community is very appealing. Wish you much success.
We had fried clams, shrimp and grits and the catfish. It was all great. They have really good coffee also.
I loved the food. My server was excellent. My first restaurant stop in Charlotte. From now on when I'm headed to Charlotte, King's Kitchen will be my number 1 place to eat. I had a side of Collard Greens ❤ I even drank the juice it was so good. 🤗
The food was great. The server was nice but she had a large area to cover with a number of large tables so she wasn't able to get to us in a timely manner for refills, desert, the check etc. I don't believe this was her fault, she was doing the best she could. The food was awesome and tasty as usual. It was very loud - really too loud to have a meaningful conversation with others at our table.
Consistent. Tasty. Great customer service. Great mission. One of my favorite places to eat.❤️
Menu expertly cooked, prepared, and plated. Great protein selections, fresh vegetables, and mouth-watering breads!
Customer Service by trained and meticulous staff. Our party of 6 picky-people left totally satisfied.
Great $$ value
Our Server, Will, was on top of his game. Nothing left to chance, yet not obtrusive! #mindreader
