The King's Kitchen
Whether you sit down to a heaping plate of Aunt Beaut’s pan fried chicken or opt for our Chef’s pick of fresh fish daily, know that here, our cuisine extends well beyond delicious: it is truly good for the soul.
Located in the heart of uptown Charlotte with a mission of bringing hope to those most in need, King’s Kitchen is a non-profit, southern-inspired restaurant that doubles as a ministry to give hope, dignity and a warm meal to those most in need. Dine well knowing that each meal purchased directly contributes to a free meal to our homeless neighbors as well as job training to give others a new lease on life.
Excellent service. Much better service at King's Kitchen than their brother restaurant, Rooster's in Uptown.
Pretty ordinary food. Nice waiter. Good cause however.
The food was excellent and, by far the fastest service I’ve ever had. The roast beef was a little bit dry in parts, but the flavor was excellent. Good chance we’ll return in the future.
Great food and service! The mac and cheese was delicious!
Menu was pricey. I ordered salmon for 20.00 and
i had to add sides for additional 4.00 each. Two kids had shrimp and grits for 22.00 each. They complained because the dish was bland and the portion was small. I had to order more food for them. My partner had tomato bisque soup which was delicious and a salad which was horrible (bland). I paid over 100.00 for mediocre food for four. Next time we will go to our favorite spot....Mimosa Grilll.
We shared a salad, the pot roast and coconut cake. It was delicious!
Food was well-prepared and served. Since we were celebrating an anniversary, we treated ourselves to dessert -- an incredibly delicious piece of coconut cake. The business model of buying local and giving back to the community is very appealing. Wish you much success.
We had fried clams, shrimp and grits and the catfish. It was all great. They have really good coffee also.
I loved the food. My server was excellent. My first restaurant stop in Charlotte. From now on when I'm headed to Charlotte, King's Kitchen will be my number 1 place to eat. I had a side of Collard Greens ❤ I even drank the juice it was so good. 🤗
The food was great. The server was nice but she had a large area to cover with a number of large tables so she wasn't able to get to us in a timely manner for refills, desert, the check etc. I don't believe this was her fault, she was doing the best she could. The food was awesome and tasty as usual. It was very loud - really too loud to have a meaningful conversation with others at our table.
Consistent. Tasty. Great customer service. Great mission. One of my favorite places to eat.❤️
Menu expertly cooked, prepared, and plated. Great protein selections, fresh vegetables, and mouth-watering breads!
Customer Service by trained and meticulous staff. Our party of 6 picky-people left totally satisfied.
Great $$ value
Our Server, Will, was on top of his game. Nothing left to chance, yet not obtrusive! #mindreader
The service was great, very attentive staff. Food was good with ample servings. Great eating experience.
Perhaps the best fried catfish I've had. Coleslaw was interesting, as well. The charitable purpose of the restaurant is to be commended. Directly across the street from Marriott City Center, which was a definite plus on a rainy night.
I love the food at The King’s Kitchen. This restaurant offers good but clean southern cooking at a reasonable price. The presentation is always elegant and the service excellent. You can enjoy good food and cold beverages in a relaxed setting. Love the “Meat and 3”!
The food and service were amazing! The mission of the restaurant is also really impressive and you feel like every dollar you spend is being invested back into the community.
I love this restaurant for so many reasons. The food is always exceptional. The service is always top notch. I love the mission of this restaurant too. When I bring people from out of town I take them there for a great experience.
Great location, admirable mission, very good service but the food was disappointing. We will try it again based on other reviews.
Everything was great!! Food was delicious!!!!
I love this place. Great food and I am supportive of their mission.
I can't say enough good things about the King's Kitchen...We enjoyed our meals immensely and the staff was sooo friendly and accommodating..if I get the chance to visit the lovely city of Charlotte,NC believe me King's Kitchen will be on my "MUST DO" List
I went with a group of 4 to catch up with friends and we tried Kings Kitchen for the first time. Everything was easy about this place. Making our reservation, getting seated, ordering drinks, and contemplating dessert (although we passed). I ordered the fried chicken which was DELICIOUs, but tried other dishes as well and nothing disappointed. Only recommedation I would make is to get the biscuit rather than the cornbread. Will definitely be coming back next time I have a friend from out of town who wants some southern fixins
Had dinner with another couple before a show and had wanted to try this place for a while. The staff was great, every person we passed or interacted with was pleasant and eager to help. Waiter was very good. Food was very tasty, served fresh and hot and priced well considering. The only problem we had was the noise level with lots of people having conversations in a large open space. Overall the location is very convenient for uptown dining, the food was very good and it all funds a very worthy cause. We will definitely be back!
Service was outstanding. Wine was great. Disappointed in the food. My daughter and I got the fried chicken with collards. The collards were tough and obviously had sugar added to them. Cornbread also had sugar so more like a corm muffin that southern cornbread. My other daughter did get the pot roast and evidently it was delicious because she cleaned her plate. I would return and try something different before marking it off my places to eat.
It was a wonderful dining experience from the food to the staff to the service. I love the fact that the profits go to help others. I’ll dine with you again, if I’m ever back in Charlotte. God bless!
Two of our guests ordered the special scallops. They received only (5) small scallops for $20. They had to order a salad to complete the meal for a total of $28. The portion was extremely small for the price. Besides this, the food was good.
Great service and food, as usual.
Great food with lots of flavor. All the profits go to local charities in Charlotte. So eating great food and making a difference in town.
Best meal we had in Charlotte! Friendly service and delicious meal! You could taste the fresh ingredients and it was out hot and fast. Selection on menu was great. Delicious southern comfort food full of flavor!!Restaurant is casual, but nice enough to dress up if you want.Be sure to read their story online.A must if you are in Charlotte downtown! We can't wait to come back to Charlotte to visit again.
Great food with a great staff and supports a great cause!
Always good. Period. If you haven't eaten here, you are missing out!!
I went to the King's Kitchen for a lunch meeting. I really liked the restaurant. There were plenty of seating options (it was too hot to sit outside). And, there's a nice open feel about the place. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We all enjoyed our food as well (everything looked and tasted great). The portions could be bigger but you do not leave still hungry. Plus, if you order dessert (we didn't have time) the portions probably work out fine. I will definitely be back!
Kings Kitchen was an incredible experience. The service was top-notch. The food was incredible. Their mission however is what put them over the top. We will absolutely be back anytime we are near Charlotte!
Traveled from FL to NC to celebrate my 58th birthday with family; researched and found this restaurant. I chose it based on its mission and the menu. What a wonderful experience to be at a place where love and opportunity is poured out to those in need. Thank you! T. Pacheco
Excellent food! Our waiter was Will and he was great! My only call out would be they bring out food all at one time, other than that, a wonderful meal for a wonderful cause!
Fabulous way to spend an evening with family. Our food was delicious! Will definitely be back—there’s more on the menu I want (need?) to try!
We met at just about 645 for a quick dinner to walk to the Knight Theatre for 8 PM Show, had a great evening, great service and wonderful food. Thanks. Was a great start to a super evening.
My hard to please significant other loved his food !
Food was okay..some was really good. Love the mission and values
Fantastic food and service! Great mission oriented restaurant!
