Ate here with 2 friends who were visiting the area for the first time. Last Friday evening at 6.30pm the pub was very crowded and VERY noisy with the drawing of "the key in the box raffle" . Our waiter explained what was going on and told us that the noise level would subside later. We could not hear ourselves speak at our table in the front of the pub. Eventually at around 7pm the noise subsided and the the background music could be heard. Food was excellent, service was very attentive and polite wihtougt being intrusive. We had a very pleasant 2 course meal. Warning ... the portions are very generous. The Chicken schnitzel was a half of chicken I would think. Dogs are allowed in the restaurant, which luckily was only one couple with 2 well behaved dogs, but this is becoming more common now, and in my opinion is getting out of control. We have eaten before several times and this Friday evening the food and service did not disappoint. Would we visit again on a Friday evening ? Probably after 7.30pm.

Really sorry to say food was very disappointing, no where near the standards we have received at The Tiger or previous visits at The Kings Arms We won’t be going back Service was excellent a very attentive sweet young lady

Good experience overall. However, upon arrival a welcoming smile from the bar staff would have nice.

The food was excellent. The waiter was very attentive without being overly obtrusive. He was just aware all the time if it looked as though we needed service. We were seated near a speaker and the music was a little loud for my taste.

the food and service was great and in a wonderful pub that has been brilliantly done up. however what spoilt it, was a family with three young children who were screaming and shouting and seemed to be being encouraged by the adults to be even more noisy. we were there for a business lunch and should have been able to discuss things in an atmosphere that was conducive for a discussion. we had to move as soon as we had finished our food as the children were getting even more noisy so that we could carry on our business discussion.

Bit on the expensive side, though lovely location and good service. Had the fish pie, which was disappointing. Other diners happier with their choices.
