The Kings Arms lies deep in the heart of the East Devon countryside. We’re surrounded by wonderful local farmers and growers, and we aim to make the most of this by using locally-produced ingredients whenever possible. Our meat is sourced from our nearby family farm, and most of our fish is supplied by our very own fleet of fishing boats.

Here at the Kings Arms, we serve a varied, locally-sourced menu, with breakfast, lunch and dinner all available in the bar, conservatory and outdoor terraces. We will happily accommodate different dietary requirements, with friendly and informal table service wherever you choose to sit.

We had a delicious meal and a great bottle of wine. Would have preferred to have dined in the rustic old main pub rather than the conservatory

Everything went well except when we ordered pasta with prawns and scallops - There were no scallops. Waitressed and deducted our initial round of drinks.
Good response

Nice and clean with lots of space. Food was average. Falafel and hummus was out a packet. Fish and chips was nice.

Fish and chips v.good. Ploughman’s dreadful. Stale bread, rubber cheese, boring salad. Such a very easy meal to make excellent. Use fresh crusty bread and butter, properly made cheese, nice pickle and a fresh green salad, perhaps with a nice slice of ham. What you served was cheapskate. Such a shape because it’s a nice pub.

Food was mostly good but service was poor. Gluten free options were limited and the serving staff were unwilling to accommodate any changes. I had to insist on a non-standard starter. Also the steak was over-cooked.

Great location, plenty of menu choice, although it is more limited on Sundays; dishes were tasty and good portions.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch which was well presented, nice and hot and satisfying. We dined in the conservatory area which was pleasantly cool even though it was hot outside. Will definitely be dining at the Kings Otterton again.

We have now eaten here twice and on both occasions everything was fabulous! The lobster is not only delicious but also very good value. Would definitely consider eating here again. Service from Jackie was brilliant!

We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect for a relaxing break. Great location. Lots of lovely walks along the river and the coast. We were lucky enough to spot a Beaver. Quaint English village. Also seen a Kingfisher. Budleigh Salterton is an old traditional seaside town. Well worth a visit. The Mill at Otterton has delicious cream teas and a real working mill. It. Sells fabulous homemade bread and local produce. The Kings Arms is warm and friendly and a clean and comfortable place to stay. I had Lobster and it was amazing.

Staff were helpful in Changing the booking time but steaks ordered were both overdone and the only response to that was to make the kitchen aware. The price of the steaks did not reflect the quality. Also when asking for drinks we were told they were busy. We appreciate these are trying times but very disappointed overall

Great pub doing incredibly good food at reasonable prices. Staff always cheerful and pleasant. Relaxed atmosphere with dogs welcome. Tribute bitter is kept very well indeed.
The link with Greendale is quite apparent in the quality of food. Only wish it was in Colaton Raleigh!!

We pre-booked for lunch. We were shown to our table on arrival and the waitress came to take our drinks order straight away. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We ordered two vegan meals from the menu. They arrived promptly and were delicious. Compliments to the chef!
Could not fault anything. Lovely setting. Everything was clean and tidy.

Went here for our anniversary, which I had put on the booking. They put us at a table in a passage way between the bar and the restaurant. The food was not brilliant but as we were hungry we ate some of it.
Was not what we expected.
The manager however was sympathetic and didn't charge us full price.

We are holiday makers staying locally. We weren't expecting too much when we booked. To be honest a lot of local eateries have been distinctly average. We were very pleasantly surprised the fish and chips was top notch with really fresh fish and an exceptional batter. The chicken pie was home made with a delicious tasty filling and fabulous pastry. Very reasonable value for money wise. Overall very happy and would book again.

Main meal was good, but we were disappointed with the choice of desserts, two of which (40%) were vegan. I think that is disproportionate, and the person who had one of the vegan desserts wasn't impressed.

Everything else was lovely.

The food was really really good - however, our experience was ruined by the rushed service... We hadn't even fully finished our starter before it was taken away and within seconds our main (and then pudding) was put down - a whole 3 course meal was finished within 1 hour and 15 mins... We very much got the impression from the two gentlemen serving that they didn't want us there...

This was the first meal my partner and I had enjoyed since having our baby - so were very disappointed...

One member of staff waiting on our table wasn’t engaging just going through the motions, I’m sure he didn’t want to be there.
