The King Claw - Charleston
Seafood was very fresh and cooked perfectly. I recommend lowering the music volume. It’s very hard to have conversations with a table of more than 5 people due to not hearing one another over the music.
Service was friendly but slow. Food was terrible. The gator bites and calamari was rubbery and had mozzarella sticks that were half filled with cheese and one with no cheese at all in it. Music was way too loud. Poor beer selection.
I made a reservation here to take my wife on a date since we were in town visiting and I was disappointed in the restaurant. The food was good, not great but definitely good. That’s really about the only positive I have. The music in the restaurant was very loud like I was in a club and the service felt like we were being rushed out of the place. The check was brought to us before we even finished eating. We never asked for our check. We were never asked if we wanted a refill for our drinks. They didn’t have an item that we ordered which wasn’t too big a deal because they do get their food fresh each day we were told. They also didn’t have real silverware and instead they gave us cheap plastic utensils. Maybe nitpicking but that don’t help the experience.
Went to this place looking for a good experience as it pertained to a low country boil. This was the 2nd time that we had visited this place. Talk about having a “Jones” for something good to eat…you won’t be disappointed to eat here! The spicy boil blend was the way to go, and with medium heat…it was perfect. I can’t say enough good things about it. I highly recommend trying it. It’s in my top 3 places to eat when I visit Charleston. Yummy!
It's a really good place. The food and service were excellent! I'm definitely going again.
Unexpectedly good dinner. The menu had a large offering and the prices were reasonable. Our server DeeDee was a pleasure.
The food was average. They were out of all
Produce. A meal good 2.5 to get to our table
Jasmine was amazing! She was very friendly and funny. Make sure you let her know.
Please figure out a way to get crab crackers or allow one per table. It was hard eating the crab without them.
Jasmine was awesome
I loved my raw oysters for the starter. I also loved my snow crab legs for the entree! The service was good and the red wine tasty! I look forward to my next visit!
the menu consists mainly of fried fish. If that's what you're looking for, this place is good value.
Too much fried food and limited combinations
The food is very good. The seasoning was wonderful. However, we waited for 15minutes from the time we were seated until one of the waitresses came to get our drink orders. Apparently she worked in another section but waited on us since none of the other wait staff in our section did. The food was good, however I don’t know if I’ll be back again.
I HAD MY BIRTHDAY DINNER HERE THE PAST WEEKEND AND I AM HONESTLY VERY HAPPY. FELT BAD FOR THEIR BARTENDERS. FOR THE SIZE OF THE PLACE AND BAR THEY COULD OF HAD 2 MORE PEOPLE BACK THERE. SOMETIMES WE WAITED 20-30 MINUTES FOR DRINKS TO COME. FOOD WAS FAST HOT AND DELISH! YAA WAS OUR SERVER-* 5 STARS FOR HER AND DEALING WITH OUR GROUP!
Good location. The restaurant has good food. Our server was inexperienced with some mistakes. Ordered red wine and she brought us white wine.
We had open door reservations for 5, but their dinner staff hadn’t arrived yet. To their credit they told us 15 minutes and it was 12. We were seated and served in reasonable amounts of time. The food was fantastic and the hand wipes very helpful. Not a 5 star dining experience but totally worth going again.
Little disorganized but wonderful otherwise!
Our server Gail was great- food was good although they were out of blue crab and oysters.
The service is a tad spotty-seems like they were training new ppl. They switched our table -TWICE (once b/c it was some servers “turn” to have a table. They need to organize that better) and it took FOREVER for our waitress to come. She was apologetic and was very nice.
It seems like they had ALOT of folks on the schedule who weren’t really working as they were just walking around.
Spacious restaurant, clean bathrooms, great food! I’d definitely go back and encourage everyone in a seafood mood to give it a go!
