I went here with my parents for dinner for my birthday. I liked the menu overall, I had gammon with a lovely pineapple salsa which was a great touch. I found the bar area rather noisy, we could still hear people at the bar from where we were sat in the restaurant area. I think the wine list could be improved, please consider adding more than one Rosé to your list! Overall I would recommend to family and friends. Thank you to all the staff.

We were made to feel slightly awkward/unwelcome by another diner who tried to inform us that we were sat at 'her' table! Food was good, but not wow. Waitress was very polite...something the landlord could improve on!

A boring menu and slow service spoilt our enjoyment of this usually good restaurant. The choice of mains was particularly unexciting.

Menu was nothing like that on the website - very ordinary in comparison, just ok pub food. Service was average but had to ask twice for wine menu and then nobody came back to take our order whilst our starter had already been served.

Overall a lovely night and great food. The Good: - Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had outside of Yorkshire; wonderful ice cream selection; cosy environment; welcoming staff; reasonably priced food; good wine list The Not So Good: - There only seemed to be one drinks menu in the entire restaurant as it had to be passed around the tables (a little frustrating and time-consuming); we arrived at 8pm to find most of the menu had 'sold out'; only a set menu is available on Sundays and there is no warning of this on either the website or the booking confirmation; finally, we asked staff to book a taxi for us back to our hotel and whilst they obliged we were booked into a private chauffeur firm with a min. spend of £40 (ridiculous for a 10 minute drive!) with no warning or choice on our part

Excellent service and tasty food. Would have appreciated wood fires, though, during a cold snap. Really good to be able to have a conversation without background noise. Will come again and bring the family next time.

What a fantastic time we all had this is our second visit of many I am sure. My wife loves it here after a Sunday lunch that we dropped in so we decided to return on her Birthday with the kids . Not let down fantastic steaks and loved the puddings.
