Steak was delicious!
Really good food and excellent service and look forward to going back.
Great experience as usual. Food top quality and consistent!
Limited menu- mostly sandwiches/burgers - great drinks. Air conditioning made it too cold
The restaurant is beautiful. In a historic hotel, and the decor complements the history in an updated way. Great location, across from Lincoln Park, with great big windows for neighborhood views. Plus a nice sized outdoor patio with a good ambiance. The Kennison team is friendly and professional. The executive chef even came out to our table to say hello. We will definitely be back!
Food limited and greasy.
Drinks were good.
Waitress was good
Kitchen very slow.
Wonderful food, great service and so fun to eat outside on the patio! Highly Recommend
Our first visit post Covid. Couldn’t stay away from the yummy cauliflower for too much longer! The cocktails and beers were great. Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts - fantastic. We had two orders of fish and chips where we subbed in crispy potatoes. I would say the fish wasn’t as delicious as I remember but the potatoes with that Old Bay seasoning more than made up for it. Blue cheese burger - delicious. Nashville hot chicken had great heat. Good happy hour drink specials 5-6:30.
Our server, Jack, was great Food was delicious and anbience was perfect. Happy to be out in public again. Appropriate safety measures. I’ll be back.
The French toast and pulled pork hash 👌
Very lovely simple brunch. Excellent service.
Father’s Day brunch was delicious!
My husband and I went there during the Old Town Art Fair as part of our Anniversary celebration. I was a little disappointed that their brunch menu had breakfast meals and a hamburger being 1pm but, the food was very good.
I’ve eaten at the Kennison a number of times, it may have been the reopening, however the service and the kitchen were simply put - off. The food was average, the wait staff wasn’t customer focused, the young lady was frazzled, and nothing really was done very well. That said, we were made to be almost bad for asking for out food, coffee, etc. Because the waitress was frazzled and the place was busy.
The Kennison is Old Town’s best kept secret! Beautiful mid century modern decor, fresh seasonal food, excellent drinks and cocktails, and very reasonably priced! Derek the bartender is my favorite , he always takes great care of his customers! Brunch, happy hour or dinner, you won’t be disappointed at Kennison!
Very good. I was not expecting much sine it seemed like simple fare but the halibut was excellent, nice wine and yummy desert
Love the patio and food was great- especially the apps and the fries!! Service was a little slow/ spotty.
Consistency is an issue. I sat at the bar on Sat for lunch and got great service. Our server today was off his game. I ordered coffee with oat milk when we sat down, which took longer to get than my friends cocktail. When the coffee arrived I didn't have a spoon to stir my cream, it took asking 2x to get one. Then I needed sugar because the coffee was stronger than expected, which took 2 asks to get. My coffee was luke warm by the time I was able to drink it. I ordered the French toast and it arrived w/out syrup. When I finally was able to flag the server, he commented that it doesn't really need it. I said it came with it the last time I got it and that syrup is standard with French toast. He finally brought me a tiny creamer container of syrup. The French toast being absolutely awesome was the saving grace.
Service, drinks and ambience were fine. Food itself was quite mediocre.
ALTHOUGH THEY ARE STILL ON A LIMITED MENUE I ALWAYS ENJOY THEIR FISH AND CHIPS
The pulled pork hash was incredible! I also ordered the mimosa which had the perfect ratio of prosecco to juice.
Happy hour was great! Very good prices and quick service. The vibe is very charming.
Nice place but limited menu.
Had Brunch while staying at the hotel Lincoln. Service was disjointed, as wait staff wasn’t sure who was taking our table. We both had quiche Lorraine with a side salad and it was very good.
The Kennison has a nice large patio, which was perfect for this warm summery night! The menu is slightly limited with burgers making up a bulk of the main entrée section but they had enough yummy apps and a few other things on the menu plus everything we ordered was very tasty. They have a $25 corkage fee. Our table was sort of tucked in the back of the patio so it took us a few minutes to get served but once we had a waitress she was good about coming by our table.
Our server was outstanding! Great people watching!
will definitely go back. Hopefully after the past year things will return to normal.
The service was awful. If I could give it a zero I would.
My Mother and her boyfriend came to town for the Van Gogh exhibit which was fabulous and this was an easy walk up the street. We started with cocktails - The walrus & the carpenter and the Jaberwocky. Bother were so tasty, especially the later.
The two of them LOVE a good cocktail. The asparagus with the egg was 😘 flavorful and pretty and fun. My mother and I split the steak - it reminded us both of a juicy home grilled steak - moist and tasty (simple and perfect). The fried are skinny, a little crunchy and so good. He had the burger and said it was delicious. Service was sweet and had a nice personality which made the visit even more perfect. Might come back by myself to get that steak again. Mmmmm.
It was not packed at all and the service was extremely slow. Took asking a few times before we were able to get silverware after we had been served. Once we were served no one ever came back to check on us or ask if we needed more drinks.
The wait staff was amazing and they made us feel really special. Well done!
Great service, convenient location, good food and drinks!!!
The food and drinks were excellent!
Good burgers and pork shank. Good choice of craft beers.,fun place would go again. Great location!!
The pork shank is a must!
It seemed like they were short staffed, food came out late, and it was overcooked when it arrived.
Our party of 4 was able to sit outside on the terrace on a lovely spring evening, so the ambience was wonderful (though traffic up Lincoln Ave was pretty noisy). The waitstaff was accommodating and friendly, even bringing a bowl of water for our little pooch. Two of our party had burgers - and reported they were delicious. My fish and chips was pretty good, and the pasta with mushroom ragu was also excellent. Try the cocktails - inventive, colorful, and very tasty!
