This has become my go-to brunch spot in the neighborhood. The menu changes regularly to keep with the seasons, the space is warm, inviting, & hip, and the coffee keeps coming! Great food, great service!
We dined at The Kennison for a Bachelorette Party (14 ladies). The restaurant was quiet enough that we could all converse (not always the case in Chicago). Relaxed environment. Great food. Our waiter Jeff was outstanding. We also enjoyed a lovely brunch the next morning. Reservation recommended.
The food was excellent but the service was mediocre. We sta down and no waiter appeared for almost 15 minutes. And that continued for the rest of the meal. The management gave us free dessert to compensate for he poor service which was appreciated.
We dined at Kennison on a Friday evening. Our table was ready when we arrived. The food was very good. We enjoyed the experience and will likely be back.
Server was extremely slow and chatted more with other waiters than they attended the table. Food was decent.
Horrible, slow service. Ordered appetizers and a main dish, took over 45 minutes between courses for food
Love this spot. Always reliable for a great brunch. Coffee & conversation with awesome food.
Great food. In the Lincoln Hotel. Great bar ambience and special cocktails.
Wonderful food and service!
I went with a few friends and we all thought the food and service were great.
I love the food, service and ambiance of The Kennison! I highly recommend it!
Newer restaurant in the neighborhood. We thought we would give it a try. The food and service were good. A very limited menu. The food was just warm (steak with mashed potatoes and salmon with lentils) when arriving at the table and was cool by the time we finished eating. The desserts were the best part of the evening. They do have a nice wine list. The noise level is unreal. We had dinner reservations at 6:15. As the place filled my husband and I could no longer have a conversation.
The service was excellent, food was delicious, and it was priced well. There is a good wine list. The space is modern and clean. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend for a special occasion or a date or a friends’ get together!
Found Kennison on Open Table and it was a great find. We sat at the bar and happened to arrive during happy hour. Great beer and oyster deals! I had an amazing burger for dinner - the pickles are made in house and are outstanding - and my husband had a great pasta dish. Staff is knowledgeable and so friendly. Would recommend it for sure!
Amazing! We got engaged! Perfect night!
Love the decor & vibe of this restaurant. I had to order my omelet prepared a special way & they happily accommodated me & it was delicious!!! Spicy bloody Mary’s were a great brunch sipper & the service was wonderful. Highly recommend this hot spot!
Valentine’s Day menu was a let down.
Everything was excellent.
My kids and I had a wonderful meal at The Kennison. It’s a beautiful place but really relaxed. Our meals were all amazing. My son thought the pasta was a bit spicy for him so the waiter brought him a burger without question. Everyone is beyond accommodating and the food exceeds our expectations every time!
Our experience at the Kennison was great! We'd only dined outdoors during last summer, but the new look inside was wonderful. Service was very good, solicitous, but not overbearing. Very interesting menu selections, with something for everyone. We had a great salad , the pork ragu with pappardelle, and it was excellent! Definitely will be a place to go back to.
we are looking for the restaurant week. Three courses’ price is super value！The dishes are filling and good tasty！It’s a really nice experience！
Typical hotel restaurant experience. Nothing that will knock your socks off.
Kennison is my new favorite. We went the weekend before and loved it so much, we went back during restaurant week. Each course was wonderful and the staff was so attentive. They gave great recommendations and everything was spot on. We will definitely be going back again!
Agreeable on all fronts.
I loved this place! The food was so great. We all loved our meals!! I had a bagel and lox (which I’ve ordered at other restaurants many times before) and this was seriously the best I’ve ever had. The lox had dill on them which was great. Our waiter was super nice. This restaurant is also right across from the zoo!
The staff is wonderful and very attentive. This will be my new regular brunch spot.
Awesome food , excellent bar and wait staff and lovely room . All in all a perfect evening - will be going back soon !
First time eating at The Kennison. Food was very, very good, the price even better since we went during Restaurant Week. The service was exceptional.
Amazing as always
Brought my 2 year old niece and they treated her so we'll!
Overall great experience. Welcoming staff, excited for Chef Rob Shaner to start.
This was a solid date choice. Very approachable wine list and great service. The one critical piece of feedback I have is, it would have been nice to have a vegan option or two but our waiter was very accommodating (for future reference the pumpkin soup, brussel sprouts and cauliflower are great).
Excellent food and phenomenal service in a really neat restaurant - will definitely come back!
We had a blast and all the food was fantastic we were there for my wife’s birthday it was a very cold night but the wait staff made us feel very warm and accommodating!
I treated my goddaughter and her 17-year-old son to a very nice dinner on Jan. 6; we all enjoyed it very much. Our server, Bethany, was excellent.
I was really looking forward to brunch at the Kennison but then when we arrived they had a different menu than what they had online. They said that they were doing a special menu which was a play on McDonald's breakfast. Honestly, we all agreed that we'd rather have had real McDonald's breakfast, especially because this was probably 5 times the price and not even as good. On top of that, service was terrible. We waited 45 minutes for food and then 40 minutes for the check. We had to ask for the to top off our coffee or water and even after we asked we were ignored. Probably won't be going back.
Have been wanting to check out the new concept at this location. Did not disappoint. Standout Pumpkin soup on a cold night. The only reason for not perfect in ambiance is there are a lot windows which makes for great seats but on an extremely cold evening, it got a little cold inside. Every dish was fantastic, staff was so attentive and outstanding. Enjoyed talking with Mging Partner Ryan See and we will be back for sure.
We were urged to not get the burger and then all got something more expensive. Nobody was thrilled with their meals. I would go back for desert and cocktails because those all looked quite good.
Perfect post Zoo Lights. Wait person was outstanding. Food really good but double check the mussels...Also be aware there are a lot of high top tables so ask if you prefer a low top table. Really fun to have so near the Zoo...will go back when we can sit outside!!
