Great food, even better service! Always a pleasure to dine here. And... the best craft cocktails in Spartanburg!
Celebrating an engagement
The food and service were great. The portions were bigger than we were expecting and filling. I highly recommend the crispy potatoes and the grilled ribeye.
The menu was a bit pricey but very good food.
On time seating for my reservation and very friendly place.
My husband and I absolutely love The Kennedy. After we discovered this place a year ago, it has become our go to date night place. The chef’s table is by far the BEST seat in the house. Being able to interact with the chefs who are making your food and watching the magic happen is an incredible experience. The food is delicious, the portions are perfect, the decor is gorgeous, and the staff is phenomenal.
Amazing food and service. High quality. You get what you pay for. Very special place and wonderful for a special occasion for two or four people.
Great food and awesome service. Our second visit and we were not disappointed.
Very cool restaurant, enjoyed a great Valentine's dinner there this week. Decorated with a cool art deco vibe, nice craft cocktails list, the food was fabulous and service very good as well. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion or with a group where you can share plates and enjoy all the delicious menu items. Will definitely be back soon.
Our first time dining at the Kennedy. Options were innovative but not weird. Wine list was focused with good options. Service was attentive. We look forward to returning.
Very knowledgeable staff and wonderful service.
Delicious as always! I love the lighting and the atmosphere!!
I had never been here before but wanted to find a special place for my mom’s birthday and retirement celebration dinner. Anna was our server and was, hands down, one of the best servers we’ve ever had. Her recommendations were SPOT ON. I had the duck confit special and my mom had the bass special. She then recommended the spoon bread.....let me tell you....it has no right being that good! I’m not a dessert person, but oh my word.....it was divine. And the coffee!!! Do yourself a favor and just go check it out. A big plus for us was the mocktails which made my mom feel extra special (since she doesn’t drink).
The only reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars was because the duck confit and crispy brussel sprouts were pretty salty, like to the point I couldn’t finish the whole plate. No, I didn’t tell the waitress because everything else was soooo spot on. Everyone can have an off night on one part of a dish!! But still good, nonetheless.
My mom and I had a memorable evening and definitely plan on coming back. 10/10 would recommend.
The Kennedy is arguably the best Dining experience in Spartanburg. The quality and care that goes into each dish is second to none in the area. During 4 visits across nearly 2 years I have never had something that wasn't delicious or left me regretting my choice. Make no mistakes, it can be expensive to dine here. But the quality of the product and the experience has made it worth it every time. I only wish I could afford to dine here regularly, but for now special occasions will suffice. From this most recent experience I recommend the crispy potatoes, the pork belly, and the Chocolate spoon bread.
Excellent choice of entrees (fish. etc) and preparation
Great restaurant. The food was delicious and Allister was great. Top notch service and we will definitely go back again!!!
The food was excellent. Our waitress was superb. I've been there many times, however this time I experienced the old wine by the glass scheme. (I am familiar with this from some other bars). I ordered a Malbec by the glass. It was excellent. The second one was vinegar as if the bartender was trying to finish off another bottle of something. I sent it back. The waitress smelled it and agreed. The third glass was again my Malbec. I order one more and got something entirely different. Not what I expect from one of my favorite restaurants.
We had a great evening at The Kennedy. Although the martinis were on the shallow side, the service, cuisine and ambiance were top notch. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area.
The Kennedy never disappoints. One of Spartanburg's top three restaurants.
Everything was delicious, visited for restaurant week. We were next to a vent so it was a little cold is the only issue.
My friend and I needed a sort-of-inbetween spot to meet up to reconnect and we could not have found a lovelier spot than The Kennedy.
From start to finish everything was divine--prompt service with a smile, phenomenal well-crafted cocktails, an intimate and swanky ambiance, and body roll + chair dancin' scrumdiddlyumptious food.
We took a full flavored tour of the menu thanks to the expert and gracious guidance of our server Jessica C. My friend started with the seasonal salad and savored every bite. I threw back a round of raw oysters, from Maine and Maryland respectively, and had to restrain myself from ordering more. The housemade accompaniments with the oyster platter were a fine addition to boot.
We ordered two of the evening's specials. A NC-caught, pan seared grouper over field peas and collards with sweet peppers and the lobster risotto that was flavored with the butter of the gods. M&Ms wish they had the kind of melt-in-your-mouth feel of this risotto. We usually find ourselves in need of to-go boxes but not on this fine night! We happily enjoyed scraping the plates clean ... so much so that we had to try one more thing that had us hankering: the pork belly over stoneground grits.
Lawd. We cleaned that plate too!
And because everything was so delicious we had to order dessert--which we rarely do--but the sensational experience to that point compelled us. We ain't about that FOMO life when it comes to food. There was creme brulee and bourbon glazed bread pudding to be had!
And as our dearly departed sweet goddess of sound Whitney once asked us, didn't we almost have it all?
Yes we did. I saved a few bites of pudding for my mama and have been telling all my Clemson, Easley and Greenville friends that Spartanburg is not to be missed--not as long as the Kennedy is in town.
Coincidentally, college/family friends took over the main dining room to host an engagement party which added just the right amount of flair and fancifulness for an intimate affair.
Love this place. A real jewel in Spartanburg - or any "Burg" for that point.
We found ourselves with one night in Spartanburg, SC and being foodies, we wanted to make sure we got a good meal. We selected the Kennedy based on other reviews, the cocktail list, and menu. We were not disappointed.
It was a Thursday night, and at 8 PM it was not busy. The service was very friendly, and the other patrons were enjoying wine and conversation long after their meal was finished.
We weren’t super hungry, so we skipped the starters. Cocktails were well made, interesting and delicious. My husband ordered the filet special with this amazing stacked potato side dish, sort of like scalloped potatoes but in tower format. It was cooked perfectly, medium rare, and he said it was the best piece of beef he’s had in a while. I ordered the corn meal gnocchi Which was surprisingly light and very enjoyable. I we saved a sliver of room for dessert, which was amazing. A decadent chocolate and caramel cookie dough dessert. Wow.
Don’t hesitate to try this, if you haven’t. If we lived closer, we’d definitely be back!
Amazing food and service! A must try!
Probably the best meal we have had in either Greenville or Spartanburg. This place is a Charleston level restaurant.
A really great place to enjoy a meal of exceptionally tasty food with a great cocktail, wine or beer. Seasonal dishes compliment a couple of scrumptious more permanent offerings. The best dining option in Spartanburg.
Fantastic time. Service was top tier and the food is some of the best in the upstate.
The service was excellent, ordered the rib-eye and it was the BEST I’ve ever eaten and that is saying a LOT due to the fact that I moved here from Texas and have had my share of steaks! Took off one star for the kitchen serving an appetizer that the menu stated “sampler of cheeses” and we were served 3 slices of 1 kind of cheese and half of 2 slices were hard and inedible. The chicken pate sampler was skimpy as well, they spread a very thin layer of pate on one thick slice of sourdough, not what I would expect for a pate sampler. We will be going back to try the rest of the offerings, everything else was excellent.
We had a lovely pre-Christmas party, complete with fancy drinks (the drink menu is amazing) and a fabulous dinner of roasted octopus, pork bellies, and butternut squash risotto, to name a few. While it’s a little pricey, the warmth, laughter, and ambience make for memories that will last a lifetime!
The only thing better than the food was the service. It was very close to the perfect dining experience.
If I could give this restaurant 6 stars I would. Absolutely blown away by the food and service every time I go here.
The food was off the chain fresh, delicious, & beautifully presented. We sat at the counter and got to speak with Chef Jammie about the truffles he was using for the restaurant which were imported from France. He was delightful! Our server Rachel gave impeccable service and was very knowledgable about the complex ingredients in each dish. She even gave us all the information we needed to come back tonight for a special wine pairing 5 course dinner with wine maker Orin Swift. So impressed with The Kennedy. We had a special raw citrus tuna crodeaux appetizer, Enochi with lump crab & truffle enhancement, Charred Octupus, creme brulee, chocolate cake. All of which were outstanding. We had a 2017 Cooper and Theif Red Red Wine Blend, also stellar.
Food was amazing and service was stellar!! Will definitely return
Excellent food and service. We always enjoy visiting The Kennedy, never disappoints.
The Kennedy was fabulous as always! The food is delicious and innovative. The service is always impeccable and friendly! One of my favorite spots to eat!
The meal was unusually salty. Folks in our party enjoyed it regardless but I felt the majority of the meal was inedible due to the excessive seasoning. We love the Kennedy and will be back. Hopefully it was just a temporary heavy hand with a salt shaker and not a permanent change in the cuisine.
We have decided the Kennedy is our favorite restaurant in Spartanburg and Greenville!! We’ve never tried anything we didn’t absolutely love. We had family come visit from Atlanta and Virginia. We knew they would not be disappointed, and they certainly weren’t. Jaime, keep doing what you’re doing!
Bob and Terri Allsbrook
Love the food. Never had anything what we didn’t like.
The service was phenomenal, and every single dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully plates
Anna provides excellent service and we enjoyed sitting at the counter!
The Kennedy is our go to place in Spartanburg. If you are looking for fresh, whole food preppies in original ways, I highly recommend The Kennedy.
