Jesse was our server, he did an amazing job making our evening special.
Thanks again Jesse.
Always enjoy going to The Keg! Never disappoints!!
Delicious meal and service was impeccable and the view was beautiful looking out into the harbour.
St. John’s location is hit & miss for food quality & service. Most recent experience was unfortunately a miss.
Restaurant was not busy. Requested app arrive first. Server advised 20 mins later it had been prepared with entree. Requested that it come out seperate which added to wait time. App arrived 30-35 mins after order. Entree arrived 50-60 mins after order.
Portion size for Steak Frites priced @ $28 was minuscule. Pistachio crusted Salmon was greasy.
Server apologized for app mix up and was relatively attentive during service.
When compared to recent visit to Halifax Keg unfortunately St. John’s does not compare for quality of F&B preparation or service.
Exceptional start to finish. Loved our server
Our waiter, Peace, was outstanding! This was the best service we have ever had at the St. John’s Keg
My prime rib looked like it was under the heat lamp for too long.
My experience was outstanding, from the moment we entered the Keg, being greeted by someone who told our table was ready no waiting. Our server was also excellent
Food and service excellent would recommend it to anyone
The meal and server were perfect disappointed with reservation checked in upon arrival to watch all others go ahead then received a call to see if still coming
Great experience! Will be back again!
It’s always a great meal at the keg!
It was the worst dining experience my husband and I have had. The COVID guidelines were in place and were followed. We were greeted by our server who didn't introduce herself - forgot our water - didn't ask if we were celebrating anything (as was asked by the other servers). We ordered our meal and waited. Finally, when the meal arrived, it was cold - overcooked (mine was charred when I ordered medium well) the vegetables were so cold and wilted - like they were soaked in water. The meat was tough and chewy and so over seasoned even my husband commented. We couldnt tell anyone as the server did not return to our service. I mentioned to a different server that our server muct have forgotten us. We were then approached and told the server tool ill and had to leave and they apologized for not informing us sooner...a manager came to the table and said the desert and coffee would be complimentary....horrible night out celebrating our 40th Anniversary and my birthday. I ended up tipping the server who served desert and managed to inform someone we were sitting there being ignored as she served two full tables. We were never so disappointed in the service - we felt badly that our young server was not feeling well - but someone should have been reassiged to us as we were the first table seated that evening - It will be a very long time before we reserve another table - It was my husbands favourite place for a great steak but he too was sadly disappointed. The only good thing about the night was the ice cream cake - it wasnt melted - coffee - like the coffee and tea prior to dinner was warm at best. I would have spoken up earlier and most definetly had openly complained about the meal - may have sent it back for sure due to the meat being tough, burnt and cold and the veggies soggy....but since it was our Anniversary - I had promised my husband - I woud not complain about it as he is uncomfortable in these situations and didnt want to be embarrassed.
Had and excellent time. First id was great! Service was excellent! Location of table left alittle to be desired but overall it wasn’t bad.
Amazing the server was spectacular
Service was slow. 45 min to take our order and 30 to pay the bill
Keg in St. John’s has gone downhill lately in the quality of the food
I really really enjoyed the meal I had ( trio shellfish with garlic mashed potatoes & asparagus) ,will definitely have it again when we get a chance to return.
My husband had a little problem with his steak but it was replaced & he enjoyed it.
The billy miner pie was an excellent desert .
I also enjoyed the fact that there was no loud music playing. It was easier to hear our server & take to each other.
Thank you, we will be back! If not before , maybe for our next anniversary.
I always have a great dining experience here! The cocktails are epic. I always order the tenderloin and it never disappoints. The onion frizzles are an added treat. The bread is hot, homemade and so tasty. 👍🏻
The General Manager came by to ask how we were doing and ensured we had a memorable evening.
Truly amazing to see that and made our evening. Our server I believe his name was Jamal. He was absolutely fantastic.
Amazing as always! We go every year for my husbands birthday and it’s never a disappointment!
Burnt potato and steak was rare if not blue ordered medium rare.
Last two times at keg it was just bad
We love The Keg, St John’s! It’s our Anniversary tradition. Our server Rachel was absolutely wonderful.Very prompt and friendly. Highly recommend The Keg and if you are lucky enough to have Rachel as your server, it’s definitely a bonus.
Great meal, our server was very attentive & provided excellent service
Went out to celebrate Husbands retirement! Great food! Steak was done to perfection! Excellent service!
Music is sometimes too loud as my husband has a hearing impairment so this definitely affects ambiance and conversation. . And the choice of music is way too techno. It should be more easy listening or cultural to our province.
Food and table service were excellent. What I didn’t appreciate was being told that I had a time limit on my table because we were a party of three. It wasn’t a good start to the Keg experience.
The keg is always our go to for special occasions. They let us down the food was so so billy minor pie full of ice crystals the shrimp was like rubber and the prime rib was dry ......bad experience! Allot of money for mediocre food.
We will be looking elsewhere for now on
We had a little bit more of a wait than usual, but our food and service were great!
My prime rib was supposed to be medium rare, but it was raw throughout, it was also cold. . Although a fattier cut, but I left 1/2 of my serving portion as it was nothing but gristle and fat. I made comment that my knife wasn’t very sharp.
I was so disappointed. My husband ‘s meal and everything else was delicious
Excellent service. Meal was fantastic. Good value.
Great meal and view.Best Keg ! Our server was inviting and we really enjoyed ourselves.
My wife loves the place and I'm a little picky however it was great as usual.
average meal out, but fair given covid 19 restrictions.
Appetizer (scallops) was very dried out. So much so that the bacon was crunchy. Steak asked to be medium but ended up being more rare than anything. I was disappointed I have to say.
We asked for a table with a good view but with Covid 19 limited seating that was not possible. We enjoyed our evening
My meal was overpriced and over done. I orderEd the halibut, but my wife’s salmon was fine. Calamari appetizer was fine but again pricey. The service was good and the meals arrived in a timely manner. I would not go there again.
We have been going to The St. John’s Keg 1-3 times a year since it opened, it never fails to impress. Staff, service, food is always perfect.
We waited 30 mins outside with a reservation. Several other tables of 2 came after us and were seated right away. Believe host forgot about Us. They apologized but wasn’t really good enough. Should have offered us a complimentary drink for making us stand on street did 1/2 hr! We weren’t allowed to go to bar to wait either. Then my steak wasn’t cooked correctly and had to send back twice. It was like a leather outside but raw on inside! Our server Stephanie was the only highlight to our night as she was lovely. Otherwise it was the worst visit to keg ever and won’t rush back anytime soon.
The prices are also too high for what you get!!
