I think this will be our last time coming to the Keg.
We tried 4 times with last night being the 4th and again my steak was not cooked right.
I don’t know why, but every time we come we are disappointed in some way.
Our waiter took 10 minutes to even come to our table after we sat down which, in the restaurant industry, is a huge no no.
We had to ask for bread and he said there’s a delay on it, which is fine but he should’ve made that known to us initially without us having to inquire about it. The bread also arrived cold which was disappointing.
There was also no water refill until we were ready to leave. Not once did he come by to ask if we wanted a refill. We had to move our empty glasses to the end of the table and even that didn’t help him clue in. This is part of his job as a waiter to refill water at all times and he did not meet those expectations at all.
Once again, my steak was not cooked medium. It came bloody and medium rare. I showed the waiter and he agreed, then he brought the kitchen manager over. Although the customer service in the regards is good, it doesn’t make up for all the other disappointments. We also had to pay for both of the meals, both of which were not cooked as requested. My husband is just not as picky as I am so he decided to keep his steak and not complain. In the restaurant industry, if a customer is not happy with the initial meal, it is to be comped. That’s just proper customer service.
Overall the experience was mediocre and disappointing. We have the Keg this many chances because once uptown a time we did e joy it and we don’t want to write a restaurant off right away.
I hope this review helps you guys to educate your staff about what is expected of them as servers, as well as how to cook a steak properly since this is an establishment known for their meat.
First time I’ve ever ordered the prime rib believe it or not and it was fantastic!
Food was good. Service was good, a little slow but it was busy. A little surprised at the capacity and where we were seated there was no way to be socially distanced and no barriers.
The Keg never disappoints! Great food and atmosphere.
Great experience, service was top notch. Steak was NY Peppercorn cooked medium rare, Chicago style; was perfectly cooked
Delicious dinner, decently quick service, very happy! Steak was cooked perfectly, sides were yummy!
Tommy was amazing. Fantastic service, would definitely go back if he was serving
Always a pleasure to visit and have dinner at the Keg in Langley.
We had a great night out. The food is always consistently good and the service was great!
Traditionally a great place for us to dine out over the years
My friend snd so we’re surprised that we came at 4:30 and got out right beside a large table when the dining room was pretty empty. They started to fill up the section we were in when place was not busy. Large table was loud so was not an enjoyable visit with friend. No reason to put us and a few other couple people beside such a large group
We went out for our Thanksgiving dinner. From the time we arrived to when we left, everything was excellent. I had prime rib. It was very tasty and perfectly cooked.
The waiter was exceptional and very personable.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for an nice evening out.
Not the true keg experience, was put upstairs by bar. The keg is getting very expensive and service was not there.
Fabulous food as always. Of course, a bit on the pricey side - but so worth the money!
Food was very tasty. Our service from the waiter wasn’t good. I ordered steak and lobster and didn’t get the butter for about 5 minutes after my dinner was served. Not once did the server ask if we wanted refills for our drinks. Took about 20 mins to pay our bill.
We always enjoy our Keg meal but this is the first time we have been for a long while and the ability to reserve a table is spectacular! We were sad that they took crab off the menu though.
My birthday celebration
As good as always. The Keg. Been excellent since I started going there 40 years ago.
Food was outstanding, as usual. Service was a touch slow.
Never disappointed. This is our go to spot for special occassions.
Forgotten drinks, bread, cutlery. Had to flag her down to ask for another drink. Never brought water and the wait for drinks was very long.
Friendly and very nice love the food and drinks had a good time
Our waiter Travis was great and the food was as good as ever!
The food was good, as it usually is, not the best service we have received at the keg. He was a nice guy, but needed to be reminded about many things over the evening.
We all ordered steaks and mine came pretty tough, sent it back waited over 25 mins for the replacement steaks to come and it was over done and dry.
No sign of any manager to speak to about this, I ordered a sirloin classic with Cesar salad which was not the greatest and they removed 28 dollars of the bill.
Went home hungry..
Won’t be returning to this Langley location any time soon!
It was a Very Enjoyable Dinner allowing us to celebrate our 29th Wedding Anniversary.
The food is always amazing. I find at this location the food presentation and taste is exceptional , compared to the location in Maple Ridge, Scott Road and Wellington. I live in Maple ridge but will only visit Langley. The server could of been better checking on items that were not served with our meals. We had to flag down another staff to get us the butter for our lobster dishes. Refills on our drinks and checking on wether we needed anything else. It’s always busy in you location and I understand. Overall it was a nice evening to entertain my family last night.
Our food was terrific. Our server, Travis, was outstanding and very attentive. I took my friend for his birthday dinner and we received complimentary dessert which was awesome.
My ribs were not hot and the garlic mashed were cool and had been sitting out too long.
My friend enjoyed her steak.
We ordered the 2 lobster tails and mushroom rice and steak and lobster for myself. The lobster was good but very small compared to the old days of the keg. My fiancé’s rice as very bland with almost no taste at all. My steak was decent but very salty.
Overall a good evening, other than the mains taking FOREVER to come out of the kitchen. Our server was new, told us the food was 5 minutes out and 20 minutes later it actually came out. Not a big deal but we should have been told of the delay.
very happy with our stay!!
so glad we were able to go
Food was fantastic and our service was 10/10! The waiter was a true pro, taking our orders, bringing items and clearing plates and the exact right intervals. He was training a new staff member that night and both gave us exemplary service. We've had a few bad experiences at our local south point keg so were hesitant to go again, but we decided to give The Keg in the Country a go and it did not dissapoint. So glad we went, highly recommended!
Our server was outstanding…he treated us exceptional on my first day of retirement…
We usually only come for special occasions because the prices are quite high but last evening the food was good and the service was great.
In spite of the noise level at deafening levels we had a wonderful time. Our waiter was Jared #64. Attentive, funny, very engaging. Yes, of course, I’ll be back.
It used to be customers were offered peppercorns at the table, this time it was put on in the kitchen with a heavy hand. Neither my husband or I like peppercorns. Yuck! No dairy free options for sauces. I have a dairy allergy, it makes it difficult to eat at the Keg. The waiter was friendly but new to allergy questions.
Our server, Sydney was fantastic. The best service I have had in a long time. Extremely disappointed that crab is no longer on the menu. It definitely needs to be brought back
Our server Abby was awesome...service was good up till our dinner was a little long in coming but Abby took care of us. Steaks were done perfectly.
Went early and still waited almost an hour after being seated to get our food despite ordering right away. Tables around us were served before us even though we were seated and ordered before them. Vegetables were barely cooked basically barely heated up on a grill.
