The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Edmonton - Windermere

Arrived on time for reservation. Waited ten minutes to be seated. Prompt professional service by Ashley. Food arrived hot prepared as requested (rare).
Excellent evening.

Everything was hot and fresh, our server Erin was amazing we told her we were celebrating a special occasion and she made sure she took very good care of us. Everything tasted amazing. Highly highly recommend

Had a reservation but still had to wait 10-15 minutes.

Food and staff were awesome! Only complaint is the meals too a very long time to arrive after ordering.

Outstanding server. Good food. Waited 45min to get in because they overbooked for V-Day. At least they served free wine while we waited. Low points for value because the Keg isn't cheap, but at least it was a good experience. Got to mention our server twice 'cause he made the night.

We made a reservation, got there early so we knew we wouldn’t be seated right when we walked in at 7. The guy at the front said it’ll be a “couple minutes”. However, 715 comes along when we booked the reservation and we weren’t seated. Then 730, then 740 when I finally went up and said something and he said “we will seat you soon”. After the area pretty much cleared, this girl came up saying oh I’ve seen you’ve been waiting a while we have a spot in the lounge to sit, we majorly overbooked today and this is why we can’t seat you yet and I said no thanks, we booked our reservation at 715 we would like our seat we asked for. Finally around 745 we are seated and it took awhile for someone to come which is fine it was busy. However, our meals were not cheap (I ordered the full king crab meal at $54, my fiancé ordered the New York peppercorn). My crab was FREEZING cold inside as if it were frozen, my twice baked potato was so burnt the entire top layer was just peeling off and tasted awful and burnt. I told our server when she FINALLY came back to see how it was and she took the three pieces I had left of crab (as I was starving and forced down the food I had) on a side plate and took them to the kitchen. My fiancé’s steak was full of fat, but again he was so hungry he ate it and by the time she came back he had just forced that down as well. The chef came and apologized about my crab but then the server brought my three tiny pieces back which were cooked appropriately this time but I had sat there waiting which I knew I would be with no real apology from the server or any type of management to come and say something. We had never been to this keg before but usually go to the south common location and we will never go back to this one.

The only complaint I had was the wait time, even after having a reservation. We had to wait an additional 40 mins. I get that people were there to celebrate Valentine's Day, but it was my birthday and I had made my reservation in the beginning of January.

The food at the keg is always amazing, so was our server. I completely understand eating out on Valentine’s Day things will be slower. We had a reservation At 630pm February 14 we got in a we’re told other tables were running a bit longer the expected and it would be about 10 minutes, not a big deal at all we taste tested some wine and waited. It was now 715 and we just got called into our table. 45 minutes after our reso. As we were starving as soon as our server came we ordered our food we already knew what we wanted, she was extremely pleasant and got our order in right away. 30 minutes later she comes to the table and says sorry about the wait our kitchen is just behind on orders and taking a bit longer. We were fine with it just extremely hungry at this point. 815 we finally got our food an hour after sitting down, was delicious everything was hot and cooked perfectly. The keg will always be one of my favourite restaurants to go out on special occasions but just frustrating not being able to eat 2 hours after your reservation, I thought maybe a manager would of discounted the bill or talked to us about wait but nothing. Just a little disappointed for the amount of money you spend to have a amazing meal.

It was my first visit to this location. Very nice venue, good atmosphere and excellent service. Unfortunately, the whole experience was spoiled by a cook who couldn't deliver it medium done. Even after the second attempt, it was served RAW in a centre. I understand it was a Valentine Day and the cook was under tremendous pressure, but every cook should know that a piece of meat that is 2" thick isn't right for being cooked to medium. Too bad. I have been a big fan of The KEG for 30 some years. I think I will go back there someday to give them another chance.

Loud and busy. Valentines Day so I booked weeks ahead. Waited half hour past our reservation. Staff looked very stressed!

I understand it was Valentines Day. However, our reservations were for 6pm. We didn’t get seated till 6:40. We never once had an apology from any staff or management regarding the time delay. I felt the whole experience was a rush.....except getting our table. I overheard a Mgr apologizing to a couple next to us about the wait time & offered them a couple drinks. I guess I should’ve complained while I was there.
When our meal did arrive, it was delicious! I just don’t know if I’ll book the Keg for a special occasion again.

The food and server were excellent but the wait for three quarters of an hour past our reservation was not acceptable. For this reason we would not reserve here again.

This was our first time at the Windemere location. Although it was busy and we arrived a bit early we were seated quite quickly. Our server was courteous and on the mark. She answered questions that we had and made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant dining experience. We plan to return to this location again soon.

The salmon was very nice but the prime rib beef was very poor.

Valentine’s Day

He had a great birthday dinner!

They didn’t have the ahi we ordered. So we ordered something else. 30 mins later we were told they didn’t have that either. But they made up for it by taking care of one of our entrees and our bottle of wine, so that was good.

First time to this Keg location and we were not disappointed. Great, consistent quality and excellent service. Loved everything about it!

Our server, Lex C was outstanding...he was very attentive and he helped make the birthday dinner a success. Obviously the customer service training is excellent and we all know that customer service and good food is a winning combination.....we will be back!

My experience at the Keg was overall very good. I find it a little too dark. Our one guest at the tables food was cold but he said it was cooked perfect. Did not want to send it back as he was hungry and didn't want to wait. My dish was just warm not as hot as it usually comes. It was a busy night so I guess that is part of the problem. They did not charge for the one dish so that was good. But usually always have wonderful experience.

The food was amazing as usual and our server was excellent. We used to always go to the Strathcona restaurant and were surprised to learn that this location was recently closed permanently. We were hoping that the Windermere location would be as good and we were not disappointed. We will definitely dine here again.

I enjoyed everything about our evening at the Keg Windermere. Out table was cozy and quiet. Our server Andre was excellent- friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We enjoyed a couple of appetizers with our drinks, and perfectly prepared steak Oscar. The timing of the food delivery was just right, not rushed or slow. Everything was brought out hot and fresh.
We were celebrating a birthday, so the restaurant gave us a complementary Billy Miner pie as well. Delicious!
Overall a wonderful dining experience.

It was our anniversary dinner. We were welcomed nicely when we arrived and were seated promptly. The food was only average. We ordered calamari and there was almost no taste to the actual dish. The calamari pieces it’s self were only used as a vehicle for the dips. My husband and I ordered the Prime rib and it was fine. Not awesome, just fine. We had our 4 year old daughter with us and the kids meals were a pleasure.

The only thing we didn’t like was when we were done eating the server didn’t remove our plates. She also brought the bill right away and made us pay. It made us feel like we had to leave right away and we still had wine that we had not finished.

Service was great. Good table. Decent space.

I liked the restaurant atmosphere. The food was good but had problems getting crab out of shell, I had to ask for tools to do this. The music was too loud in the restaurant and as a result had a hard time hearing my waiter and others at my table. I would recommend this location but have had better experiences at other Keg locations. Also dessert selection was poor

It was our son’s 14 th birthday and he choice the Keg, we actually come here frequently for special occasions. Mostly for the steaks.
I love the wedge salad or Ceasar salads, shrimp cocktail. Everyone’s steak comes out as ordered. No problems.

What I enjoy most about this location is the ability to make reservations. It’s ridiculous how the other locations are ran with line ups out the door all in an effort to make the most money. I’ve been told that I only have an hour to enjoy my meal at those other locations! Regardless, I appreciate that the Windermere location manages this better.

Service was excellent. Heather was attentive to our needs. We were celebrating my husbands birthday. Food was delicious. We will be back.

Very nice meal. Everything was delicious! The lobster tails were just slightly under done. I have had this meal many times. I think the steak and the lobster tails has shrunk in size. The portion could be larger! Dinner was $129.00 for 2 plus tip and that is with no alcohol!!! The Keg is very nice but very expensive!!!

The Keg is one of our favorite restaurants for birthdays and anniversaries. Excellent service! Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Very happy with our overall experience.

Our server was fabulous with great energy and super attentive! Food as always was exceptional!
