The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Dartmouth Crossing
Awesome meal and service. Will be going back for sure.
Great service, and a nice restaurant. Our appetizers and desserts were great, but our mains were not hot enough and a little disappointing. The staff did their best to rectify this for us. We’d still return to this restaurant another time.
Very enjoyable dining experience. Although my chicken was cooked...I prefer it a little bit on the dry side...just me. Otherwise...everything was delicious...service excellent...most polite...courteous...attentive staff!
Mary-Beth was our waitress and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Very knowledgeable of the menu items and was clear with her recommendations.
Extremely accommodating with our needs. Would highly recommend dining at the Keg and would strongly recommend being seated in Mary-Beth's section for a wonderful evening.
Mary-Beth has personality plus and it is very obvious Mary-Beth enjoys her choice of career and is extremely happy working for the owners of this fine dining restaurant.
Food was vey good, consistent with other Kegs I have been to. However, the food was too fast coming. We were not finished apps and the salads were being served, same with the main entries. Definitely felt like they were trying to turn the table over as fast as possible.
very pleasant experience. will return soon with friends and family.
Welcomed by hostess and lead to reserved table, all done seamlessly. Wait staff were efficient and friendly, service was quick and relatively accurate. Slight delay with draught beer order after all other drinks arrived. Only food disappointment was with starter caesar salad, two arrived, one with shaved parmasen and croutons and one with parmasen out of a bottle and no croutons. When it was pointed out, replacement arrived quickly. All in all, a successful night out, very good food, sophisticated ambience and friendly staff. Too bad most of the customers don't dress as well as the staff, detracts from the overall atmosphere.
For a new restaurant only open for a month you would never know it. The staff from greeting to wait and bar staff are on the ball and naturals... We enjoyed our first visit very much and look forward to returning soon.
Fantastic evening, our servers did an outstanding job with our table of 14. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we will be back
Really enjoyed the new location in Dartmouth Crossing!
We all had a fantastic time. My sisters son (my nephew) was home from Alberta. He took us all out for a fabulous meal.
My steak as well as 2 others at our table was under cooked. All was made good. Also, we had 7 different wait staff serve us various components of our meal. Still ok. I will try again.
Great meal and service at this new location
Very much enjoyed our food in an atmosphere that you could hear each other
Dined at the Dartmouth Keg Sat. August 17 for my son's birthday. Two of us enjoyed the Prime Rib & Garlic potatoes....both were were tasty. Arrival of our meals was timely & Scott provided very good service & kept us laughing.
It was for my birthday and it was great except for young child next to us but overall great.
Everything in the dining room was great. Only issue was with the washrooms. It was so dark you couldn’t read the dial on the stall to tell if it is occupied or not. Unable to tell if your hands were clean, check makeup, fix hair etc. Please brighten up the washroom.
Friends reported issues concerning speed of service when this restaurant opened, but these have apparently been resolved. Our server, Colton, brought his A-game. It was an excellent experience. One steak was a little overdone, but still delicious. Our table was very satisfied and looks forward to another visit.
Best meal we've had in awhile. We had steak, chicken, fish and fish cakes. All members of my dinner party were completely satisfied. Service was excellent and waiting times were reasonable. I made a reservation so I cannot speak to drop-in waiting times however. We will return.
Outstanding as usual. Delicious food and great ambiance.
It was our first time here. It also was my birthday and I wanted to go to the Keg. From the minute we walked in, we were made to feel welcome. Ryan, our waiter was very attentive and between the service and the food we were quite pleased with our night at The Keg.
Wait time to get food and bill was ridiculous. Not to mention some items were not available on the menu.
Service was great when it showed up. We sat for 20 mins before even getting water. Then the manager walked by and saw we were not set up yet. But waitress was great when she got there. Other then that the salad and apps came out at the same time. We will go back again
It was our first visit to this new Keg restaurant site and we were very much satisfied. The food was absolutely delicious (Keg Burger) and our server was very knowledgeable and helpful. We received our food in a timely manner and were overall impressed. We will be back.
We would recommend the Dartmouth Crossing Keg to friends for sure.
We arrived, we were seated right away, even though we were early for our reservation.
The server Mary Beth was awesome, she did a great job all evening.
My husbands garlic mashed potatoes were cold, they got him a new fresh hot plate and compt us our bill.
We were very impressed how the evening manager came by and apologized for the cold food and hoped our meal was better now that it was replaced.
Overall an excellent experience for our first visit to the Dartmouth crossing location.
Will be back for sure.
We had a group of 12 celebrating a milestone birthday! We were very pleased with our service and food. The staff were friendly and obliging! The food was prepared perfectly! We will definitely bd back!
We were celebrating our 33 wedding anniversary, made a reservation 2 weeks ago and got a table close to the main entrance. We had customers walking by continuously the noise level was very loud. Would not recommend this restaurant for anniversaries or a quiet night out with your partner. Service and food was great but atmosphere was terrible. We have dined at a few keg restaurants by by far my worst dining experience at a keg restaurant.
The server was very tentative and the meal was outstanding. The ambiance was very calm, quiet and well designed. Loved the whole evening.
Great food done just right served by an what yet competent staff. Excellent Malbec wine.
Love the new location. So convenient for living on the Dartmouth side of the bridge. Excellent food as always. Also, as someone with celiac disease I am always extremely impressed with the service. Not only does the server take note of my need for gluten free food, the manager comes to the table to assure that all measures are taken in the kitchen to make sure I have a safely gluten free meal.
Great! I have to add more detail so I’m writing these words.
Celebrated our 34th anniversary. Had a wonderful experience with great staff and exceptional food. Pleasant evening
Service -ordered appetizer + 2 prime rib dinners.
Salad arrived first and in less than ten minutes the appetizer arrived. We thought the appetizer would arrive first followed by the salad. We put aside our salads and tried the lobster appetizer. We were very surprised when our server arrived with our dinners after one bite of appetizer. What poor timing!
He wasn't overly pleased when we told him we had just barely started the appetizer. He assumed we were going to accept our main course. We asked that the meals be held until we finished the lobster appie in a few minutes. There wasn't enough room on the small table for everything. He reluctantly took them back to the kitchen. We asked that they be held under a warming element. Dinners arrived barely warm. They tasted wonderful but could have been a little warmer.
We understand the restaurant is newly opened but I think servers need to be made aware that you cannot expect diners to accept all courses in a matter of 15 - 20 minutes.
We are seasoned travelers to many places outside Canada and have had many dining experiences over the years. We appreciate good food and The Keg has always been a favorite place for prime rib.
We will return.
Table host (Sarah) was extremely personable; table server (Meg) was cheery, helpful with meal selection suggestions, and prompt with service. We both ordered prime rib and chose "medium-well", but the next time we'll order "medium". Décor was pleasant and relaxing. When we arrived at 5:30, the restaurant was about 1/4 full; when we left at 7:00, tables were mostly full, but didn't appear to be hectic because it seemed staff were well organized. There were a dozen or so folks waiting to be seated when we left. As we had done, we'd recommend reservations.
The Keg has a nice atmosphere and the food is generally pretty good. However the service and a couple of kitchen issues that night made the experience less than great. First, an incorrect entree was brought to the table. Also, we waited forever for bread to be brought to the table. The server was not very attentive and we had to flag the server down to place our entree orders. This was all especially disappointing since I was celebrating my birthday. We had gone to the Keg a few weeks earlier, and while there was a problem with the food, the service was great.
Everything was excellent but the noise level was very high - do, I think, to the amount of hard surface areas. Perhaps hanging baffles from the ceiling, or putting sound absorbent materials on portions of the walls might help. Anyway, an acoustic engineer should be consulted.
Service was quick and efficient and our server was superb (sorry I cannot recall his name).
Excellent service and nice ambiance, yummy food!
We will be back :)
Our first visit to the new Keg location was a bit disappointing. The setup and seating was fine. We did not like the Caesar salad which is always good in Halifax. The salad needs more dressing and cheese. The rest of the meal was good however, it took longer than what we are used to from the Keg. We would probably go to the Halifax location next time.
